2.5+kg of food. 1400 calories, 100g protein.

I was extremely hungry, and was craving a colourful meal with 1400 calories to spare for the day. Last photo has all the numbers :)

Note 1: you may look at that much lettuce and think I’m feeding a goat, but actually, I use it kind of as a bread substitute “carrier of foods” if you will. Taking bits of chicken and egg into each romaine leaf with some sauce and bam, very tasty!

Note 2: I obviously don’t eat like this everyday, but I’ve discovered that since my diet most days lacks variety and is the same thing day in day out, implementing a diet friendly “variety day” kind of resets my palette and gets rid of my diet/flavour fatigue. For those of you sick of the food you meal prep or eat everyday, I highly recommend it. It’s like taking a freshening walk after hours of concentrated work, resets the mind.

I (M24) am thinking of breaking up with my girlfriend (F27) because her family is racist to me and rejects the relationship

(Writing this with my girlfriend as to avoid any biases in the story)

She is a Punjabi Sikh from Malaysia, and I am an Atheist Persian (both living in Canada). We were best friends for 2 years and began dating 8 months ago. Our relationship and origin story are all wonderful, and we envisioned a future together.

Two months ago she told her father and siblings about me (her mother is deceased), and without me even talking to them once, they effectively rejected our relationship and forced her to sign a literal document testifying she won’t be with me. They did so based on the fact that I eat meat and am supposedly Muslim (although I am not), they are convinced I am since I am from Iran. She felt forced to sign because she is still financially dependant on her family, and refusing to do so, may have risked her stay in Canada. Her family in general do not trust her decision making and don’t view her as an individual, which further exasperates the racism issue.

I felt she didn’t fight as she should have and immediately gave in. Furthermore, I don’t see a future in which her family will accept me. She claims that she’s fighting in more implicit and internal ways while secretly continuing our relationship until she is independent and can stand on her own feet.

She doesn’t have an exact plan as to how she’ll eventually reintroduce me into the family yet, and the cloud of doubt over our relationship is really hurting our relationship particularly from my side. It particularly hurts as Punjabis are subjected to a lot of racism, and I’m receiving hate and racism from them, it stings double.

On one hand, people around me advise that marrying into a family like this is not the right thing, on the other hand, she’s not her family. She disagrees with them, and she moved far away for a reason. It feels harsh to punish her for her family’s behaviour, but then again, how could I ever look her dad in the eye with an ounce of respect?

I should mention that I love her a lot, and I am a very picky person with dating. She’s my first proper girlfriend (I’m hers as well), and I’ve never met someone who I match with on so many levels. But I’m torn between my heart and my brain.

TLDR: my gf’s family is racist to me and rejected me. I love her, however, the doubt about our future is causing me a lot of issues emotionally. Fighting between brain and heart, do I ignore all external factors due to an amazing relationship, or is it naive to entirely seperate a family from the individual for a lifetime.

Would appreciate any thoughts/advice/judgements on the matter

300 calories, 50g protein.

Hi everyone, wanted to share a recent dessert “invention”. It’s a fluffy take on a cookie, inspired by the 33 calorie chocolate chip cookie recipe, but of course missing the chocolate chips. And it has significantly more protein. Basically turned into a mad scientist fidgeting with proportions, but I’m happy with this final result.

Macros include everything (the milk too).

I think baking was around 7-8 minutes, until golden brown and somewhat fluffy.

Edit:
Ingredients are in the last image (All the amount numbers are grams). Mix dry ingredients first and then mix with wet ingredients. Bake till golden brown (7-8 minutes or so for me).

Reminder: this is only 300 calories!

Been downing quarter of a big watermelon every night and specially in the heat it hits. Only fruit that I constantly keep in my dieting phase.

2Kg+ worth of food, ~1300 calories. 105g protein. Volume pasta salad.

Hi folks, wanna wanted to share this since it’s been a staple in my weight loss journey (down 75 pounds so far).

Ingredients:
Romaine lettuce 400g
Catelli protein Pasta (200g cooked)
1 medium diced Red onion 215g
Chicken drumstick meat 200g
Blended Carrots 200g
Blended Pickles 200g
4 medium diced tomatoes 370g

250g of dressing
1/3 Heinz light mayo
1/3 0% Kirkland Greek yoghurt
1/3 6% Balkan yoghurt
Garlic powder and salt to taste
3 limes squeezed

The key is in the dressing. You have to make a dressing you really enjoy the taste of. And you can play around with the proportions, but this is what I found to be the least amount of pasta, dressing, and chicken to vegetable ratio that still tastes really good. I do OMAD most days and this is my one meal most days. (In addition 700 mls of diet soda).

M/23/6’1 [270 > 195 = 75] (2.5 years). Plateauing at ~195 for 6 months. (20 or so pounds away from my goal) Any last straw dieting hacks? Btw any guesses on my body fat %?

Which is best for a half marathon?

Hey all, I think I find the vomero plus most comfortable, but the evo sl the most fun ride. But looking through reddit tells me maybe the Boston 13’s are the better pick for a half marathon?

I’m open to buying a race day type of shoe like the adios pro 4 but given that I’m only a few months into running and only doing a half, I don’t know if it’s necessary, not really going for “time”.

I’d appreciate any suggestions on what to add to my rotation.

Edit: literally first 3 comments. One said evo sl, one Boston 13 and other Nike vomero plus 💀.

Hey all, wondering if you could tell me how my resume is as an undergrad hoping to get into either UoT/UBC/Mcgill/Waterloo or a top US program. Do I have a shot?

I go to a semi small school in eastern Canada ranked around 500-700 globally.

Edit: hoping to get into masters not PhD
