Is it time? (West PA, USA)
I don't think it is, but thought it was worth asking. I think it's at least still a beetle of some kind.

Cellar spider, I think? I was bitten by a spider when I was little, and it was a pretty bad bite, so they make me very jumpy. But this sub and their passion and knowledge have taught me that most spiders are harmless and not out to cause trouble.
Thanks, guys!
My Trax performs beautifully, but lately, when I turn it on, it tells me to "service the battery charging system" and will not move. I turn the car off, I turn it back on, and it drives fine (and no message/battery indicator turns on).
It had only happened once when I took it to the dealership, and they told me everything tested fine, so they thought it might be an odd glitch. But today was the second time in a week this has happened. I plan to take it in somewhere else, but has anyone else dealt with this?
I've been terrified of spiders all my life. Even the tiny ones make me nervous. I've had some unfortunate encounters with spiders that have made this even worse, including spiders trying to climb onto my hand while driving (anyone know why they do this?).
I don't necessarily hold ill will towards spiders, but I can't help the instinctive fear I feel when I see them. I will say that jumping spiders have helped me to somewhat overcome my arachnophobia. I love how stout and curious they are, haha.
I do also like orbweavers, they're really pretty. Tarantulas are cool, too.
But spiders that are especially long and wiry are much harder for me to deal with. Seeing as you guys are so devoted to the little guys, I wanted to ask what it is that you love so much about them. Are there traits that the general public is unaware of? What makes you think, "Awesome!", when you see a spider?
Maybe I can try and see them from your perspective, and maybe I can come to appreciate them more. I have a soft spot for more misunderstood creatures, and I'd like that to eventually encompass spiders (even if I get rushes of adrenaline at the thought of them).
Thanks, spiderbros!
He was in the middle of the street when I was driving, so I pulled over and tried to gently shoo him towards the sidewalk so he wouldn't get squished. He hopped away, then turned and jumped on my leg?? Why???
I managed to shake him off without hurting him. He didn't hop away after, he just kept staring at me. What was that all about? I love frogs, so I'm not upset, just really confused lol.
Facilities ain't glamorous, but I really did make some great friends along the way. What strange adventures I've had here. Insane clogs, mysterious smears, mountains of garbage and cardboard, coldbox in disarray, losing my will to live in the freezer (it's COLD), tweakers with knives, theft (customers AND employees)...
Heck yeah, baby. I regret nothing. I had a blast. Good luck, fellow geese.
I put my two weeks in today. I really liked my management and my team, so I'm not leaving on bad terms with anyone, but I'm just so burnt out that even working these next two weeks is an exhausting prospect.
We lost two facilities people in two weeks (one for stealing), and aside from one or two others, the other facilities members would get lazy and leave coldbox a wreck or leave mountains (not exaggerating!) of uncollapsed boxes for me outside the cardboard dumpster.
That's not the reason I left, of course, though I'll say it's not the easiest thing to stay motivated when you feel like you're cleaning up more after your fellow janitors than your customers .
I left for more personal reasons (primarily health), but I can't pretend I'm not a little relieved, haha. But I'm also a little sad. I've made some great friends here, and it definitely wasn't all bad. It was fun, in a very chaotic and ridiculous way. It wasn't work I was used to, but I hustled!
Shoutout to the customers. Some of you guys make it a little easier to deal with the absurdity.
Take care of yourselves, fellow geese! 🪿
