Do you guys learn derivatives in highschool where you live?
They even teach us integrals where I live.

I simply don’t have a grandmother or a grandfather to ask this, so I thought maybe some people here can help me. I’m a 18 year old guy! Thanks for any advice :)
He was a 6’4, muscular, strong big guy. Excellent father to his children. Seeing him skinny, connected to the bed, almost unable to talk and eat is very hard for me. Honestly FUCK CANCER.
They did a surgery and removed the tumor, we celebrated and all, he got back to his work, gained some weight then boom, it came back again.
Doctor said he is almost entirely sure his cancer is terminal. He’s too physically weak for aggressive chemotherapy. He was fine just weeks ago but he can’t eat anything. He’s losing weight rapidly.
What feels so unfair is that cancer is so random. You can have a perfectly healthy life style and it can still find you.
I just really feel horrible.. :(
And when I went to the hospital to let him know that he isn’t alone and we love him and he’s gonna get through it and all, he kind of knew his cancer was serious. After my parents left he told me to sit near his hospital bed. And then he started giving me life advice… I held it together there but I cried for the first time in almost 7 years. Sat on the corridor and just cried for 15-20 minutes.
I’ve always struggled with very specifically factoring. I don’t have any idea why that is, but I made a decision to turn it in one of my strengths. I’m willing to study 3 hours a day for however long is needed. I just lack the methodology, if you guys have an idea, I’d very much appreciate it.
Get creative! Technically edible and won’t poison anybody outright but has to taste, smell and feel extraordinarily disgusting. You can use home ingredients only, though.
I am a highschooler learning about vectors. I was just wondering, what does your brain think of when you hear a vector? Is it something like (-x 5, +y 3) or is it usually an arrow pointing at that direction?
My dad always tells me that communication skills account for 80%+ of all promotions in a corporation.
My mom tells me real happiness comes from helping others.
What about your parents? What is the most useful piece of advice they’ve ever given you?
Hello, so for context: I am a 18 year old guy, my mom is of Ashkenazi Jewish descent and my father is a Sephardic Jew. I was born and raised in turkey, I am still living here. As you can probably guess we don’t have a hole lot of Jewish people here in turkey.
I feel lost in life. I decided I’d study for an exam (I have 12 months to study) that will directly determine which university I can get in to. Unfortunately my family won’t let me study abroad, so I must study here.
I tried to connect to local Jews I can look up to, they’re usually helpful. But I couldn’t find even a single person that I can look up to. They’re either extremely religious or do plan to move to Israel within a few years.
So there’s this exam that I just take, which is in 375 days. It consists of two parts, one is called TYT, mostly entry level questions about Turkish, Social sciences, Maths and Science. This one is easy. And then there’s the second part. Advanced mathematics and science. The second one is called AYT. I have exactly 375 days to study to the exam, this is a lot of time.
I do struggle to study though. I lack willpower. I genuinely need some advice from elder people from my own culture that has gone through what I am. Any advice is VERY MUCH appreciated.
I study engineering at a “good” university, I am 6’1, healthy. I have my hobbies and everything. I’m kind of happy. Where I live, we have a culture where we meet with relatives like every other week. My uncles are all 6’3 and millionaires. I have 2 cousins my age and they’re both studying at university that are like the “Ivy league” of where I live. I know I shouldn’t compare myself to others but I can’t stop. I have a hyper competitive personality, I’ve always been like this. This really lowers down my life satisfaction and happiness. I need help.
