How to master dynamic/targeted push notifications in Flutter from basic to advanced? (FCM, Cloud Functions, alternatives?)

I'm currently scaling up my Flutter skills to focus on real-world production setups and want to dive deep into dynamic & targeted push notifications (handling foreground, background, terminated states, and 1-to-1 user targeting like order/chat updates).

I have a few questions for developers who have built this in production:

  1. Tech Stack: Is FCM + Firebase Cloud Functions (or Supabase Edge Functions) the standard way to do 1-to-1 dynamic pushes?
  2. Cost: Is FCM completely free on the Spark/Blaze plan, or do hidden backend costs (like Cloud Functions/Firestore reads) creep up fast during testing?
  3. Alternatives: Are services like OneSignal or Novu worth using over vanilla FCM for custom device token targeting?
  4. Learning Resources: What are the best YouTube tutorials, documentation, or GitHub repos that cover FCM HTTP v1, local notifications, and token management end-to-end?

Any roadmaps or recommended guides would be super helpful! Thanks..

Khalti, Nagarik app using flutter not native..why?🤔

Why are major apps in nepal using flutter instead of native?

What’s the real state of the tech market in Nepal right now? (Freshers getting squeezed, generic stack overload, and the AI shift)

I’ve been observing the current tech landscape in Nepal, and I’m genuinely curious to hear raw, honest perspectives from seniors, startup founders, solo builders, and experienced professionals in the sub.

From where I stand, the current market scenario, especially for freshers and entry-level devs..looks pretty brutal.

Here are a few things I’ve been mulling over and would love your take on:--

  1. The Entry-Level Bottleneck & Generic Stacks: It feels like almost every bootcamp, college project, and junior portfolio is churning out the exact same generic full-stack web/mobile apps (MERN, Flutter, Laravel, React). Is the local/outsourcing market simply saturated at the junior level, or are companies just raising the bar on what "entry-level" even means?
  2. The Senior + AI Shift: Are senior devs and leads now managing significantly more workload using LLMs/AI copilots, effectively replacing the need to hire 2–3 junior coders for boilerplate work? If AI is absorbing the routine CRUD and UI tasks, where does that leave someone trying to break into the industry?
  3. Where is Technology Adoption in Nepal Heading? Over the next few years, will we see local tech adoption deepen (more enterprise tech, cloud migrations, fintech depth, local AI integrations), or will engineering in Nepal remain largely an outsourcing/offshore service play?
  4. Will Upskilling Keep Up with AI? Will software engineering become an ultra-high-skill-only domain where basic-to-mid code execution gets commoditized, or will AI evolve faster than engineers can upskill, making traditional coding roles obsolete before people can even adapt?
  5. What are YOU personally focusing on right now? For the experienced folks, founders, and active builders here: where are you sinking your time and energy these days?
  • Mastering specific programming languages / frameworks?
  • Deep-diving into domain-specific business logic & product thinking?
  • System design, architecture, and cloud infrastructure?
  • Core AI / ML integration and engineering?

Would appreciate your unfiltered thoughts, realities on the ground, and advice for anyone navigating this transition right now.

Broker 49 TMS issue: Kitta shows in Meroshare & DP Holding, but Holdings show 0 when trying to sell?

Hi everyone,

I'm facing a weird issue with Broker 49 TMS and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this or knows how to fix it.

Here is the situation:

  • Meroshare: My portfolio shows the correct kitta count.
  • TMS DP Holding: The shares are visible under DP Holding.
  • TMS DP Watchlist: Shares are NOT showing up here(TMS balance is 0)
  • Selling: When I go to sell, my Holdings show 0, so I can't place an order.

Things I've already checked/confirmed:

  1. My Demat and Meroshare are both renewed on time.
  2. My account is not frozen (confirmed directly with the Capital).

Is this a known bug or a mapping issue with Broker 49/TMS? Do I need to contact my broker to do a manual DP re-sync/mapping, or is there something I can fix on my end?

Any insight would be appreciated... Thanks.

White flash before native splash screen loads (Android/iOS)

I’m trying to smooth out my app's launch experience. Right now, when I open the app, there's a quick white screen that flashes before the native splash screen even appears.

I’ve tried a few different methods to get rid of it, but no luck so far. Is this a default Flutter thing, or is there a way to force it to match the native splash background color?

The 15% Circuit Limit is Backfiring: Is NEPSE facing a "Deadlock" exactly as predicted?

Hey guys,

Here is why:

१. The 15% "Overbought" Trap (किन्ने कोही नहुने)

२. Panic and "Wait & See" on the Downside

(Cash Flow Blocked)

Do you think SEBON needs to revert this rule or am I just overthinking? Let’s discuss.

We’ve all heard the legend of Himalayan Distillery (HDL). Back when its paid-up capital was tiny, it was printing 50–100% returns through massive bonus shares year after year. It was the ultimate compounding machine.

But as the saying goes, "Trees don't grow to the sky." With HDL’s capital now exceeding Rs 3.8 Arba and EPS cooling down to the mid-20s, that specific "high-growth/low-cap" cycle is likely over.

So the real question is: how do you find the next one BEFORE it happens?
