What kind of milk goat would be best for me to get?

I want to get three or four nanny goats, I have an allergy to cow's milk and in my area goat's milk is stupidly expensive so I want to get the goats (I already have two goats but they're boys) my family had Nubians when I was little, but nothing else so I want to know what you guys would recommend, the Bucks I have are a lamancha and a Alpine, never had the female version though.

I don't want to have a goat that produces so much milk that I end up wasting it, I go through maybe half a gallon in a couple of days, but I want goats that produce enough that I can milk them and they also have enough for their baby (I love bottle fed babies but it's so time consuming🥲) I would like to have full size goats so not the Netherland dwarfs or anything like that, I would like to be able to use one of my current bucks to service them, and Netherland dwarfs and really any small breed isn't that popular in my area so finding a book to rent would be hard.

I live in North carolina, where I am currently it sometimes gets in the negatives in the winter but over 100 in the summer so I don't want anything that would struggle too terribly in this climate.

Let me know what you guys as recommendations would be, and thank you for any help!

It's 2026, why are people still like this?

The video they're commenting on is a video of some people that have a rescue horse, the horse is a Mustang that was born in 2007, her original owners abandoned her at a property and told them to shoot her if they didn't want her, she's not had much done with her she's a bit timid around certain things but they're taking it slow and earning her Trust.

In this video they were talking about how she still nervous walking through the barn but that she's doing better and she's got a good head on her for everything she's been through.

And then this is what this person said to them.

And mind you this family runs a farm they know horses very very well horses are there livelihood, and this leaves this comment on this video.

It was deleted before I could screenshot it but they also left a comment on another video they posted of a horse that they're trying to start and it started bucking while one of them was on it because it got spooked, the comment they left was telling them to whip the horse as punishment.... and that they were being too soft with it

Are ultrasounds supposed to hurt?

I just had my anatomy scan, I'm exactly 20 weeks today and unfortunately because my baby decided not to want to be good I have to go again, he was legit balled up and refused to behave and even kick me really hard😭😭😭

But the reason I'm making this post is because the whole time it hurt, not just the baby kicking but while she was moving the ultrasound thing in the Bob it hurt she was pressing down really hard, like hard enough that I actually have bruises now from it, when I got my dating Scan they used the transvaginal method and that one was fine it didn't hurt at all, a bit uncomfortable just because someone I didn't know was down there shoving something inside me but that's beside the point, this is my very first standard ultrasound and even though it's been like 6 hours now it still hurts to touch or move wrong, I don't feel comfortable showing the bruises because of the area, but they're pretty deep purple bruises, think of the blue knot wound spray for animals, it's almost that deep of a purple.

I honestly really hated every second of it except for the fact that I got to see my baby, I just want to know if this is normal and something I should expect from now on

I feel proud of my dog's recall even though I know it's a basic skill that they should know

Most of you should know that Malinois have very high prey drive, my boy just turned 1 year old today, and he has very high prey drive he is a working line and ever since I got him his favorite thing to do is Chase things, I have chickens rabbits cats and right now a lot of baby chickens in my yard so of course he wants to chase them.

However I knew this before I got him and was prepared to train him, I did train him all of the socializing with said animals and of course he still wants to chase them but he can be outside off leash for the most part ignores them, the only time he really wants to chase them now is if one runs past him and all I have to do is speak to him and he immediately stops and comes back to me, I'm very proud of myself for teaching him that because I had no help from a trainer to do that and I have not used an e-collar to teach that, he is trained to an e-collar but I introduced that after he already had a good recall and really that's only because I like to go hiking with my dogs and it's more convenient to have them off leash (in off-leash friendly areas of course)

It just makes me really happy that I was able to teach him to listen so well when he has a distraction like that, even if there's a lot of commotion going on and people he still listens when I call him, yeah he's goofy yeah he's not trained perfectly but I focused on things that I found to be important and that's a good recall good leash manners and a good Sit Stay which he is very good at all of those, I have a bonus with him because he just for whatever reason loves other dogs and people to the point that I've actually had to do extra training to prevent him from wanting to go to strange people.

To him every other dog is his friend the second he meets them which is a very stark contrast compared to my 35 lb German Shepherd mix who hates other dogs until she gets to know them very well and even then she can live without them, but with her the chickens and cats are her best friends and is very protective over them (like to the point I have to put her up out of sight when it's time to process broilers because she does not want me to do that)

Anywho I just wanted to brag on my boy especially since today is his 1-year birthday and I'm just very proud of how he's turning out

Did I make a bad mistake?

I accidentally drink a Monster Energy drink, my fiance put it in a separate bottle to save the carbonation, I confused it with my water flavoring since it was the same type of bottle and I wasn't familiar with the taste of my water flavoring because it was a new one, so I drank the whole thing... and that day I had already drank a 16 oz Mountain Dew, I'm pretty good about tracking my caffeine intake and I make sure to stay under 200 mg a day, but I didn't know that was a Monster energy drink, is everything going to be okay? I'm 19 weeks, and I'm just kind of trying to figure everything out

I just found a toad I recognize

This is toadzilla, don't know why I decided to call her that I just did, I found her last year I know it's her because she has the exact same markings, and though I can't get her to hold still enough to show you (I don't want to force her in a certain position and make her uncomfortable)

She has a scar on her belly that is the exact same as it was last year, first time I have found a toad for a second year in a row and I'm very happy about it, she lives in the blackberry bushes around my house

Did Glenn have a show?

I've been following him on Facebook but for the past in a while my Facebook has been messed up for whatever reason, so I haven't got to see the updates but I seen in Katie's comment section that someone mentioned he had been to a show, is that true? And what were the results? I'm invested in this little dude cuz he reminds me of my late miniature

I have a hypothetical question about goldfish and tank size

Hypothetically would a 20 gallon aquarium be suitable for a fancy goldfish if the water was able to be kept adequately clean, so in short answer if one fancy goldfish had the bio load of one neon tetra would a 20 gallon aquarium work? No I'm not planning on keeping the goldfish in a 20 gallon aquarium, no I do not support it especially for a fish that's more than 4 in (I give a bit of Grace if it's still a tiny baby) this is just a fully hypothetical question because it's 3:00 in the morning can't sleep and had a random thought come in my head

What brand of fly spray do you guys use?

This is the one I'm currently using it's $14 for this bottle, it does work but wears off fairly quickly, and while it's wet I have a allergic reaction to it, once it's dry it doesn't bother me but while it's wet it causes me to get hives.

So I was wondering what brands you used so I can try some other ones to see if I can find one that I don't react to

What is a good cheaper brand of liquid goat wormer?

The one I was getting I was getting it at my local farm store but they have unfortunately went out of business due to the owner sadly passing away.

The goat warmer at Tractor Supply is very expensive for the liquid bottle, so I was wondering what brand you guys would recommend, I've only got two goats so I don't need something that worms a dozen or so goats, I prefer the liquid because it's easier for me to give it to my younger goat and just easier for me to give to them in general (my chickens try to steal any kind of pellet anything I have and are ruthless about it🥲)

Thank you in advance for your suggestions I really appreciate you guys taking the time to read my post!

Can a purebred Friesian have white socks?

I'm just completely curious as I don't know a ton about the breed, but I was scrolling through YouTube shorts and came across this channel called Ironhill Farms, and they have this horse they said is a Friesian horse but it has white socks, not hating on them if you're concerned about that I'm just very curious as I've only ever seen black ones, and the occasional one that looks kind of brown

Are these nose bits humane?

I was scrolling through Facebook and seen someone posting about a steer their training to ride and they use a nose bit, I'm very familiar with people riding cows and steers but the people I have been around that do it use a halter or a custom-made side bitless Bridal, never seen anyone use one of these before although I have heard of them.

I know rings are used for bulls since they don't always listen to halters, but this kind of seems mean to me since usually a bull is only being led occasionally where as there's going to be frequent pressure put on this nose bit especially while training.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, I don't like making assumptions about things that I know little to nothing about, that's why I'm asking you guys what your opinions on this is, I know the opinions in the comment section of that post were very mixed most people thinking it was bad, but also a lot of those people were more familiar with horses then cattle

My pet sitter did this

I have two goats, one adult which is the one in the picture and a 5-month-old that is injured, I had to go away for a couple of days, due to my younger goats injuries I took him with me, he's not too big and it's very well behaved so there was no issue, I also took my dogs and stuff so all this pet sitter had to do is take care of my outdoor animals.

Apparently at some point A branch came down over my fence and messed it up, and instead of putting my older goat into the panel pen I have she got my dog leash and tethered him to it and then tied him to said pen......

I come home and this is the shape he's in, fortunately it doesn't seem like he was wrapped up for too long as there was no swelling and it wasn't too tight, this caused me to just about have a panic attack because the whole reason my baby goat is hurt is because he got a piece of twine tightly wrapped around his leg for too long and now he has to have an amputation.

Not sure what to do about the pet sitter as she did take care of the animals but she did this....

Fortunately Prince which is the name of my older goat is used to being tethered as before I got him that was his whole life, my baby goat if this happened to him he wouldn't panic about being tethered but he would probably panic when he got tangled up so I'm very glad I took him with me.

Edit: to add that the pet sitter had sheep and goats herself which is why I trusted her specifically

What kind of fence would be able to withstand idiots backing into them?

I am having to replace my poly wire fence because my idiot neighbors and their friends keep backing into my fence and breaking it, the fence is 4 ft away from the road and the road itself is about 10 ft wide, and there is a very large amount of room in the neighbor's driveway which can fit about 15 cars for them to turn around, yet people keep backing up and hitting my fence, they don't even offer to say I'm sorry much less fix what they broke, and I know it's possible to turn around without hitting it because I watched a large flatbed turn around without even remotely coming close to my fence, so if they can avoid hitting it the idiots in their little sedans can avoid hitting it

But regardless that doesn't fix my current fence so I need a new one, what would you recommend I put up?

Anyone here ride donkeys?

I don't have a picture of me and my donkey, since I rode her when I was younger and then outgrew her, she unfortunately passed away a couple of years ago but she was my baby, I fully intend to purchase a mammoth Jack to ride as soon as I'm financially able, curious to know if anyone else here rides donkeys?

If you could get your chickens to understand two things and then listen what would it be?

For me it would be go to your coop at night because you will die if you try to sleep in the middle of the road (yes the middle of the road) and to stop laying their eggs everywhere but the coop, I have some that will literally hold out until 6:00 p.m. to lay their eggs outside of the coop, and usually in Dumb places like the road the roof where it rolls off and breaks, or in water, I have a couple that I think are inspiring to be ducks
