I can use every gadget and class ability at my disposal, every bit of skill, positioning, and aim I can muster, and it's STILL NOT ENOUGH (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Posted the final scoreboard for this round earlier.

The two clips are the same push, just with dead time in the middle cut out. The full clip feels like a perfect encapsulation of the struggle sometimes. Beacons on top D to pressure (though they kept hunting them), ladders to make entry, Assault's Frontliner health regen to stay in the fight as long as possible, but ultimately they just wanted to win more. Good on them, honestly. The enemy team played to win and won by 400.

Conquest is the OG GOAT but it really is such a ball buster sometimes, man. I've heard BT is better for small motivated squads to win, might mainline it for a bit. Though the game as a whole could really use some big round win bonus to incentivize PTFO'ing.

I'm tired, boss

I gapped 2nd place by 15,000 score, got 24 caps, and STILL LOST by 400 tickets. 8 blueberries spent the whole round ratting the top of B (Mirak Valley Conquest)

Doesn't matter if I'm the only one pushing a flag, I'll still make it a problem. This is the kind of impact K/D is supposed to represent.

What's more important: PLAYING the Objective, or ROLEPLAYING the Objective?

Behold, two clips in which I do quintessential assault things: I assaulted the objective using the gadgets and weapons at my disposal, clearing it out for my team. I even have spawn beacons nearby to continually pressure. That is 100%, by definition, what Assault does. But I also used movement and jumping around in the process.

So, genuine question (and I do mean genuine, I want to have a healthy and good-faith discussion here): Would you, as hypothetical teammates, prefer that I clear out objectives as aggressively as possible and with every means at my disposal as I do in these clips, or would you have preferred that I pushed slowly, methodically, clearing every corner and 'roleplaying' the way that is generally most 'immersive' or least 'CoD-like', even if it means getting caught out by enemies with more time to prepare, and likely failing the push as a result? In other words, is the win more important, or is playing to the spirit of the game more important?

I for one, personally, hate losing more than anything. If I have a tool at my disposal, like movement, I will use it to best benefit the team. If movement helps me clear out objectives, and I am capable of using it but choose not to, then to me choosing not to is akin to throwing the game. I love Battlefield. I find it's the superior product to Call of Duty and other shooters. I've been playing since 1942. I even had both expansions. I played BF: Vietnam, too. Battlefield is the shit and I've always loved what it offered. BF6 happens to offer really smooth movement, so I use it to my and the team's benefit.

Oh yeah this is totally fine. I'm so glad C4 explode sequentially. Very cool game mechanic.

The only thing I can think of is his gunner hit the mine destroyer perk after 3/4 C4 exploded. Literally see no other way that BS just happened.

Abandoning Bluntahoy was the hardest decision I've ever had to make. But his sacrifice secured E in the end.

Godspeed, warrior

JESUS CHRIST I finally started using the SCW-10 and it's turned me into a disgusting little goblin

Gun's absolutely ridiculous. Guy in the third clip couldn't even hit the ground before getting deleted

The IFV's Threat Detector is crazy OP and needs some external visual indication of when it's active

Tired of spending all the time and effort trying to sneak up to the IFV to plant C4 only to get randomly wallhacked through three walls no matter how sneaky I'm being because the driver pressed one button.

The LEAST DICE could do is make the beeping noise audible, and have the vehicle itself light up or something similarly to APS. That way I know not to press the vehicle at that moment and wait for its cooldown. Otherwise, I have literally no idea if or when it'll activate and get me blown me to bits.

I'm so glad we have to pay for loadout insurance. Overaggressive players like me really needed to be punished for being so careless with our ships

It's exactly what the game needed. It's a very good gameplay mechanic that appropriately punishes recklessness. Plus my time has zero value anyway, and CIG understands that better than anyone.

Can we just delete the nav-scm spooling noise for now?

I am so sick and tired of my play sessions being inundated with that horrible looping sound. Step away from a ship? Sound triggers. It contributes nothing to the game and if it's going to keep looping on our clients for no reason, just get rid of the audio file for it until it ever gets fixed... if it ever gets fixed.

So... did claymores get nerfed?

I must have missed it in the 400 page manifesto that DICE released for the S3 patch notes, but I think claymores can't one hit kill infantry anymore. Since the update I've only seen upwards of 90-99 damage but no full kills.

Sensitive and graphic content warning: indirect implications of military and political violence - no actual violence or gore in the linked content

Looking for opinions, suggestions, and critiques of this back jacket blurb, as well as the book's tagline and title. I want to also make sure that it accurately sells to a potential reader what I know the book itself is like. Unfortunately I don't have any art yet to help with that.

Some things I am looking for in particular:

  • Given no other context, what genre and tone are you expecting?
  • What perspective structure are you expecting? I.e. single POV or multiple?
  • Is the premise as-written intriguing? Is it too wordy, vague, cluttered, etc?
  • Does the blurb give enough detail about characters to hook or interest you?
  • Is the title memorable or eye-catching?
  • Are there any other hooks that drew your attention?
  • Any general thoughts on the tagline would be appreciated as well.

^(—The first book in the Soar series—)

The GHOSTS of Galdhø

^(“Humanity has gazed long into the abyss — And we’ve learned only to exploit it.”)

^(The year is 2170 — an unprovoked orbital strike on one of Earth’s most secure naval groups threatens the delicate peace between NATO and the new continent Rangea, leaving the world scrambling for the culprit before it’s too late. The fledgling Rangean Republic answers with the HSOD: A strike force that targets the architects of violence — not soldiers, but the leaders behind them. Caster keeps the audacious team alive. Ardenne refuses to kill yet commands death like a queen. And Centura, the unstable assassin at the center of it all, is becoming harder to predict with every mission.)

^(In the aftermath of the strike, a young Soarian operative desperately tries to survive his own Commander’s personal quest for answers, while a relentless killer finally closes in on the one man he’s spent years trying to find.)

^(As power plays unfold aboard orbiting dreadnoughts, as fighter jets battle in the sky, as the shifting perspectives of a looming war clash in collapsing cities, a vast silence is already expanding beneath and before them all — one so devoid that it can only consume.)

^(—What are you, if you are only what you take?—)
