In Season 3 Episode 17, Angie leaves to go to a La Marie convention over the weekend and George stays with the kids at home. Throughout the weekend Carmen and Max act up and disrespect George and finally out of a fit of anger, he sends them to Bennys as punishment and also a lesson in how lucky they have it. Unfortunately Angie comes back early unexpectedly and George reveals he sent the kids to Bennys as punishment and she freaks out and they get into a fight.

I never understood why Angie was so upset? For those of you who saw the episode, Carmen and Max were both acting up (Whether you guys feel it was George's fault for being too lax or not lol) and needed to be properly disciplined. Sending a 15 and 11 year old to their grandmother's house to do chores and live without luxuries (electronics, games, tv etc). Isn't torture (?) Its not horrible (?). They weren't babies/toddlers so they didn't need to be coddled and knew exactly what they were doing in terms of behavior. They can survive a weekend without luxuries as punishment and have chores to keep them occupied. Yes I know Benny wasn't the ideal grandmother but if you guys remember, George told her no hitting and she wasn't allowed to bring Randy over and she wasn't inebriated.

So what was the issue? I guess Angie was scared Benny would do something to traumatize the kids? Scared they'd end up like George? (It was only a weekend though). Benny had babysit in past episodes and Angie was fine with that. Then again it was at their house with in a controlled environment vs her house. But again I don't feel the idea itself was so horrible. If the kids act up, they need to be properly disciplined and going 2 days without video games, cell phones, internet, etc. And doing chores like sweeping/vacuuming, laundry or whatever else the kids were doing wasn't bad. Anyways, thats my take on it idk how you guys feel.

This never ever happens to trans women in representation (modern day). Yes I'm aware original rep for trans women was awful and transphobic. Yes its gotten better and I'm very grateful and happy for them. But it seems we still get the short end of the stick. Im tired of us getting the last cold, limp slice of pizza or the broken crayon at the bottom of the box. Can you rep us appropriately please? Is that too much to ask??? I know some guys here sometimes its better we get none/inaccurate rep because then we can live stealth more easily. That isn't 100% wrong and I see your point, but again at the same time it's exasperating 😑.

Roseanne was way more relatable to your stereotypical black family than The Cosby Show was. And the humor was more relatable as well.
