Say goodbye to open source models now. We are screwed~ 😔

Hello Pimax,

After 5 weeks I finally received it and couldn't wait to install it but I came to the conclusion that it's defective. 😔 if TL;DR I apologize in advance and just skip to bottom paragraph!

I have windows 11 x64 and an RTX Nvidia GPU. I installed 2.0.2 Pimax Play App and it went through all the installations and drivers succesfully, but it just wouldn't turn on. I went through 3 different support techs, I was told to change USB ports, make sure its 3.0/3.2 I made sure I to try all the ports I had available. I was also told to try unplugging the display port and try other slots which I did as well. Also to make sure in device settings the drivers were there yes all there.

When I plug in my Dream Air, the top button does turn green for maybe 5-10 seconds but then turns blue aftewards.I was also told to install steamVR which I did as well. Connected to my steam account and had everything ready to go. During the many un-installations and re-installations I had to make sure to wipe out everything related to Pimax as there were lingering files and other folders and even dll files and regedit registry that needed to be removed.

And after an exhausting 8 hours, my Pimax Dream Air just doesn't work. In fact the front of the eye plate becomes unnaturally hot and what happens when I click on calibration button in Device settings -> Eye Tracking is that I can see Pimax turn from pitch black to dark-dark grey, which is telling me the Oled screens are trying to turn on, but then I'll see a flash of yellow or a flash of red very quickly, like almost a glimpse. Then the Pimax immediately shuts off. I looks like pitch black again.

Just been going around vanilla javascript, php, perl, LUA, some C#, batchscript over and over for a year but finally came back to C++ and it's good to be home.

To some they find it agonizing with memory management, consts, function prototyping and what not.. some wouldn't even touch it but to me, it's like riding a bike. It's all coming back and I need that extra control! Besides MySQL.. this is it! 🔥🔥

Yeah and I know I'll probably be downvoted faster than it takes to compile a simple output but I'm just tired of trying to fix these constant bugs, random crashes, and all sorts of strange behaviours on 2026.

And on top of uninstalling all that, I had another fun time trying to pinpoint all the extra folders left behind when removing couldn't wipe all those out. But then I also found them on the apps list even though they're gone, which I had to go into `regedit` and sift through those.

But now on VS2019 I was shocked at the loading time.. 2 seconds! I don't care about all this AI crap, let me build, thank you~ 😡😡
