Steam Summer Sale

TLDR version: Love survival games, this looked cool, but there were a lot of complainers on Steam reviews (as usual). Just wanted to hear from actual fans of the game on what this one offers compared to other, similar games.

Full post: So I've played a lot of survival games and I tend to rotate a lot between NMS, Enshrouded, Grounded, and Ark. I've been itching for something new and the timing couldn't be better with the Steam Summer sale going on right now. I have around $130 in store credit so I've already added Rust and Dune to my cart. Icarus is in the cart (the Prospector edition) and wanted to hear from you guys, especially newer players. The one complaint I see in the reviews is that it's predatory when it comes to DLC'S. I didn't really understand this because it doesn't seem like it had THAT many DLC's, especially not enough to call it predatory, so I wanted to see if I'm missing something. I would normally just pull the trigger, but I have other games I'm eyeing up and was hoping for feedback before I clicked buy. Thanks everyone!

EDIT: Thanks to everyone that convinced me. Only an hour in and an already in love. I recently got a a new pc with a 5070Ti and graphically this game really blows every other survival game out of the water. It's freaking gorgeous! I turned on Dune as well and the graphics are equally beautiful. These two alone were well worth the money...i took out Rust, btw. I'll use that extra credit to get the Great Hunts Campaign dlc since it's on sale as well.

A HUGE thank you to all the mod creators out there...

No matter how many compliments you all get, you'll never get enough credit. I can't believe how fast the mods are getting updated for this DLC...I'm back up and running with about 90% of the mods I was using pre-DLC 8 and it's only been a week! You're the unsung heroes of this game and I can't thank you guys enough for all your hard work!

When should I move on to x4

So I've finally taken the plunge on the X series and decided to start with Terran Conflict. I know the ui is dated compared to x4, but I'm a sucker for lore and wanted to go back as far as I could while still having somewhat decent graphics. I'm really enjoying myself so far but I know at one point I'm going to want to move on to X4.

My question is when should I do that? I'm still in the very early stages of x3 and will most likely play Albion Prelude as well. Is there a point where I will get all I can lore-wise before I should progress?

I know this is a super noob question, it's just that these games seem massive and it would help to have a rough plan in mind as I play more.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I just recieved the powerplay 2 in the mail today and realized it's too big for the space I need it in. It's going on my racing sim and I have a fairly small amount of space to work with but i don't mind a little overhang. Does anyone know if it's possible to trim this thing, even if it's only a few inches on the right and bottom of the pad? Not going anywhere near the power source or electronic components. Thanks in advance!
