Hand grinder for espresso? Best quiet grinder?
My girlfriend is a big coffee drinker but we live in a small house and she gets up about an hour before me.
As a result she doesn't use a coffee grinder because of the racket and because she's nice and doesn't want to wake me up at 5am. She'll often even forgo using the milk steamer because it sounds like a man trying to get into the house with a hammer.
I would like to get her something she can use that doesn't sound like she's putting up shelving. Our bedroom isn't far above the kitchen, and my suggestion of going out to the car to make coffee didn't go down very well.
Budget up to £300, I will get the best if it makes a big difference in quality, but it must be quiet. Is it a fools errand trying to find a 'quiet' but good grinder for espressos?
I don't drink coffee, and while I find James' voice very cathartic I don't understand what he's talking about a lot of the time.
