Important Question about medication for binge eating to shed weight for good?

Hi everyone, I’m trying to figure out what medications have genuinely helped people with binge eating, constant hunger, and weight gain that feels hormonal or impossible to control. I’m not really looking for “quick fixes,” I want to know what actually helped reduce the food noise, binge urges, and helped keep weight off long term instead of gaining it all back.

I’ve struggled with binge eating for a while and I feel like my hunger/fullness signals are completely off. I can eat a lot even when I know I shouldn’t still be hungry. I also feel like hormones, cravings, stress, and possibly medications are making everything worse. for context, I have already tried Topamax, and its literally not working!!

I’m curious about experiences with:

  • Vyvanse
  • Topamax/Topiramate
  • GLP-1 meds (Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, etc.)
  • Contrave
  • SSRIs or anything else doctors prescribe for BED

Did anything actually help you:

  • stop binging consistently
  • reduce obsessive thoughts about food
  • regulate hunger better
  • lose weight AND maintain it

Also, were there side effects that made it not worth it? I’d really appreciate honest experiences because I’m overwhelmed trying to figure out what direction to go in.

What’s the best medication for binge eating disorder besides Ozempic/GLP-1s?

For people with binge eating disorder, what medication helped you the most that wasn’t Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, or another GLP-1?

I’m curious about real experiences with medications like Vyvanse, Topamax, Wellbutrin, SSRIs, or anything else doctors prescribe for BED. Which one helped most with binge urges, food noise, impulse control, and weight issues?

Also wondering about side effects and whether the medication kept working long term.

Vyvanse and Binge Eating Disorder?

For those who have taken Vyvanse for binge eating disorder, did it actually help with weight loss and reducing binge urges? Like significantly????

I’ve seen mixed experiences online, so I’m curious how it worked long term. Did the appetite suppression last, or did it wear off after a while? Also, were the side effects manageable (sleep, anxiety, crashes, mood changes, etc.)?

Just looking for honest experiences from people who have taken it for BED.

Questions About UT Longhorn Band Color Guard🤘

Hi everyone! I’m a potential transfer student at UT Austin, and I’m thinking about trying out for the Longhorn Band Color Guard. I did color guard for 4 years in high school and really miss performing and being part of a team.

I wanted to ask current/former members:

  • What is the team culture like?
  • Is it competitive to make?
  • What’s the time commitment like during the season?
  • Does it cost money to participate?
  • Overall, is it worth it?

I’d love to hear honest experiences or advice. Thanks! 🤘🧡

Transfer Housing Questions for Fall 2026?

Hi everyone!

I’m an external transfer applicant for Fall 2026, and I have some questions about housing at UT.

I wanted to ask:

  • What housing is best for transfer students?
  • Is it hard for transfers to get on-campus housing like Jester?
  • Is off-campus honestly a better option?

I’m trying to figure everything out early before decisions fully come out, so any advice or experiences would really help.

Thanks!

Could UT Austin release another transfer wave May 22–24?

Hi everyone,

I applied as an external transfer for Fall 2026, and I’ve been seeing that some people have already heard back this weekend about their admissions decisions. Most of the people I saw seemed to have applied earlier and/or completed more credit hours.

Do y’all think UT Austin could still release another wave of transfer decisions sometime this week, around May 22–24? Or do they usually spread transfer decisions out over multiple waves throughout May and June?

I know the final deadline is June 30, but I’m trying to see what patterns people from previous years have noticed.

For context, I applied in late February as a transfer student.

Thanks!
