Just picked up this 18k day date! I’ve wanted one for so long, amazing add to my collection!
So the thing is, I’ve wanted a Rolex day date in full yellow gold for a long time now, but the truth is that the newer 40mm is way to expensive for me, but I’ve got the funds for a vintage one in 36mm. On the pictures I’m wearing a vintage Datejust 36 that I have previously owned, it has the same dimensions as the day date 36.
I know it’s small, but is it too small, should I just forget about the day date and get something else?
Okay, so I know this is really a luxury issue, and in the end I should make my own decision, but I’m seriously torn about what to do!
At the moment I have a 3.5mm solid rope chain with a 27x27mm coin pendant, and a 6.5mm curb bracelet. I’m looking to either buy a Rolex 126333 two tone Datejust 41mm with champagne dial and jubilee or getting an Rolex 18238 day date in 18k gold. The gold day date is the dream! The catch is, that I would have to sell the chain and pendant, to afford the day date.
What would you do, rock the day date and gold bracelet, and get a new chain later. Or get the Datejust, keep the chain, save cash and upgrade to day date by selling the Datejust in the future?
Thanks!🙏🏻
Just picked up this 14k 19,5g and 6.5mm curb bracelet, love the way it goes with my chain and watch!
So, a lot of posts with 36mm vs 40/41mm, and every time, there’s a bunch of comments, stating that 36 is gay, a woman’s watch, that it looks comically small etc.
I can understand that people can have different preferences, and maybe like the look of a 41 more. But I’m genuinely trying to understand, how a 36, that used to be considered a man’s watch, and was worn by many physically big and masculine men, suddenly has become a comical women’s watch on a man, I just don’t get it.
And the argument about people being bigger today, just isn’t valid, maybe in general.. but again, many big men wore a 36 before 2005/2006, without anyone commenting on it.
Been trying to improve my look a lot the last couple of years. Always worked out, so that’s about 22 years of hard work. But I guess you always want more, so any suggestions to things I could improve?
Got the round coin pendant measuring 27x27mm.
Sometimes I feel it’s a bit too much/too big.
I tried a rectangular one that’s a bit smaller. I’m very undecided. What do you think is the best look?
I don’t know if I’m about to suggest something completely blasphemous here, but… 😅
I own a 116713LN, and I’m really happy with it. At the same time, I can’t get the newer “Zombie” reference out of my head because of the two-tone Jubilee bracelet it comes with.
My long-term plan is probably to upgrade to the Zombie, but it also feels like a huge expense just to get the Jubilee bracelet (I know there are other differences between the two models) when I’m very happy with my 116713, and in some ways I actually prefer the all-black ceramic bezel.
So my question is: Is it possible to fit a two-tone Jubilee bracelet to a 116713LN? If so, which bracelet would fit? How much would it cost to source one, and are they even available?
Looked through some old pictures and even though I’m my own biggest critic, I got pretty surprised about my evolution through the last 5 years.
Almost my entire life I’ve been working out and lifting heavy, a bulk took overhand and food got control of me and became a way of coping at hard times. At my heaviest I was 266lbs and I’m now down to 210lbs and have started caring again.
Pictures and video never does this justice, but the hotel staying at had some great lighting, so I managed to catch a little sparkle and had to share 😅
About a month ago, I sold my 16233 two tone Datejust 36, to get a two tone 116713 GMT master.
I like the two tone watches because they pair well with my gold jewelry, and would eventually when the budget is there, like to get a full gold.
But was the decision right about the gmt or should I have stayed with the Datejust 36?
Bought this GMT Master-II 116713LN 3 weeks ago. Love it more for each day!
My daily wear, thinking about adding a gold signet ring of some sort, either full gold or gold with a stone.
