I've been buying some old games, and I've come across some sellers, with new accounts and now reviews, listing consoles bundled with games worth £300+ but are listed for £50.

I've just purchased a couple of these to see what happens, and with one it just timed out when they didn't ship, and with the other they canceled after a couple of days.

So... What is this particular scam? They don't get anything unless I accept a delivered item, and there's no point in me contacting them to negotiate a lower price because they are already underpriced, so the only thing people are going to do is just buy the item.

I can't work it out!

Or do they just assume people will bring them back if they don't work?

Because I've purchased 3 things recently:

A Dreamcast that doesn't read disks

A GameCube which doesn't recognise controllers

A PS2 controller where half the buttons don't work

Hello! I had a Dreamcast delivered yesterday in "Unboxed" status. I was over the moon when it arrived, because Dreamcasts can be really yellow and both the controller and the console look great. It also came with 2 types of video cable including a decent RGB one.

My game was delivered today (Phantasy Star Online) and when I put it in, it just doesn't load. The disk does have a few scratches, but it doesn't seem that bad.

I ordered online, but can I take it into the store? I'm worried that if I do, they will either:

A ) Give me a refund, and then I order another one and get the same one!

B ) Send me another broken one

C ) Send me one that isn't in anywhere near as good (physical) condition

Also if I order online, will I need to pay postage again?

What is the best way for me to go about this? Should I order click and collect and get them to test it in front of me in the store and just accept or reject it there?

I am building a PS1 game collection and I want to use my CeX credit to do this.

Most games only have one listing, even though they had a black label and a platinum release. Is there any way to make sure I get black label copies of the game?

If I buy a copy and get platinum, is that enough to return it? I could keep ordering and returning it until I got a black label I suppose, but I'd probably just keep getting the same copy sent to me!

My local shop (Poole) only has like 10 PS1 games.

If I buy a game controller online, is there any kind of directive to send the lower quality items as the customer can't check them or see pictures of the specific item before they get sent?

Also, are online orders sent from a central distribution hub or do they come from stores?

I just brought a bundle of about 80 games for a specific few that I wanted. I can't be bothered to sell all the unwanted ones on eBay as they are all only worth a couple of quid.

Would this volume of games trigger some kind of bulk discount? There are 3 or 4 of the same FIFA game in there.

Also, this bundle includes 10 Nintendo DS and 3DS games not in boxes.

I have some spare boxes but not the artwork. Will CEX accept these? Could I just print out now box art?
