Applications

Hello! Hope your night is going well,

I’ve just come to ask about the application process. About two weeks ago I applied to a store and did the full Sapia chat and video interview, but didn’t get that job, today I applied to two more but haven’t got an email to do an interview 6 hours after I applied. The first time I applied I got an email a few minutes after
My current hypothesis is that they’re reusing my previous Sapia interview for the ones I applied to earlier? Would I be correct in that? If not should I just wait a little or is there someone I can contact?

Any insight would be really appreciated :) thankyou!

Last night to study for my history sac 🫩✌️

I have not studied once. I have been scrolling reels in class constantly. I am a chud. The extent of my knowledge before I lock in for a final crusade tonight is that the French people got mad because they had to pay taxes, and then they beheaded people.

I am fully aware that this is a consequence of my own actions and crippling dopamine addiction. It all works out in the end until it doesn’t and I hope that day isn’t today

Have a great evening, hopefully I don’t blow my shi of tomorrow

The bane of my existence

I’ve had this for like a year now. This finger seems to get a wart popping up a lot and it’s really just pissing me off now. When I was a young child I had one on this finger, teenager I had another and then I picked it off iirc, and now it’s back. It doesn’t hurt, but it’s so unsavoury. I don’t get how I’m so prone to warts because I’m sanitary, and this one large one has made like 3 smaller warts around it.

I’ve had a lot challenges this year so I’ve kind of just let it ferment on my finger under a bandaid every day. Guess I felt covering it up was better than dealing with it up until these last few weeks. I’ve been buying DYI wart freezers from the pharmacy (gone thru 2 packs) and it’s done absolutely nothing. I have a really bad habit of picking at warts and scabs and that just makes it worse.

How should I approach this now? I’m thinking I’ll head to the General practitioner and ask if they can surgically remove it in one go? (If that’s a thing). I really can’t fund consistent freeze off sessions with a GP because I’m a broke. I’ve seen people use pliers (or I have little Model plastic model knifes which in my mind would do the job) but whenever I search it up on google the little ai bot says I’m lwk stupid to even having that thought come across my mind.

Applied to a team member role

Hey I was just wondering what to expect during the application process.

I’ve gotten an email about a text based interview with an ai bot. Will there be another interview like a video call or in person after that?

Thankyou

Started watching this year - top 10 shoot out

Hey all I’m a relatively new fan, been watching since Albert park this year, but only been watching races till today.

So there’s the normal quali which is all cars on track at one time, and then top 10 shoot out which is like a one shot quali with cars coming out one at a time. That’s what I’ve gathered so far today.

My question is what happens if it rains or conditions change mid top 10 shoot out? Is it just bad luck if you have to do a lap in the rain compared to a hypothetical situation where other cars have gotten dry running?

What was Brendon Hartley like in formula 1

I only really know him from his WEC career and he has certainly made a name for himself there. I quite like him and as an Australian have always had a soft spot from drivers from our cousins in New Zealand. I honestly forget he was in Formula 1 for a bit in 2017 and a full season in 2018. I’ve watched a few quali and race highlights from that year and he didn’t seem terrible but was dropped after a single season.

How was his performance actually? How did he go against his teammate (gasly I believe)? And What was the reason behind his leaving? Would love for this to be cleared up :)

What am I on track to get

Assuming I continue these marks into exams as well. My hope is a 70-75 atar. If I’m not on track to get it atm I’ll be most comfortable locking in for Legal and History. I do have a feeling I’m falling off in literature tho ✌️😭

Legal: 73 and 78
Literature: 70 and 73 and 60
Politics: 66 and 63
History: 68 and 78
Art: I dunno but my art teacher said the only reason why I’m passing is cause I’m a nice guy so prolly like <20 study score.

When should I apply for a role in the Police Force (Victoria)

Hey all, past few months I’ve been seriously considering where I want to go with life and I’ve landed on a Policing role as my top one. So don’t need much advice of what I want to do, but any considerations would be nice. I’m not the academic type to do University, and I have more interest in police (and ADF) than TAFE.

I’m currently an 18M year 12 student in VCE, and am wondering if I should apply now because I know the recruitment time is months, or if I should apply after year 12 in December when I get my ATAR to increase chances of getting in? Things to consider are that I’m going to Europe for a month in November so I obviously wont be able to take any exams/fitness tests if i apply now if that matters? And that I’m just around the minimum weight requirement. For the weight thing i got a gym membership and on the bulk so shouldn’t be much of an issue. I think the main question mark is the Europe trip because i dont know how flexible they are with test dates etc.

Also how likely is it that they hire 18 year olds straight out of high school? I’ve got a few things going for me, I did karate for 9 years (senior brown belt at the time of leaving), do Year 12 Legal Studies so I know the legal system quite well, and I have worked at maccas for 3 and a bit years. Maccas one doesn’t matter much but on the webpage for VIC Police it says it does apparently😂.

Anyways, help would be greatly appreciated

Does anyone think that this years silly season is overhyped

Everyone is talking about this massive silly season coming up but I think we’re in for a huge disappointment imo. Most drivers a preforming well (apart from Ocon and Bottas it seems) and cars are preforming well enough to convince drivers to stay (apart from Aston and maybe Williams). But even then I have a hunch that both Aston and Williams drivers will stay.

Let’s go thru each team and they’re reasons to stay
Red bull: I don’t max and hadjar leaving the red bull family quite frankly, if max were to leave the team I see him leaving the sport entirely due to the regs. Hadjar will stay as long as he keeps up what’s he’s doing. Their engine is good apparently, so they have a good basis.
McLaren: Norris and Piastri won’t leave let’s be real.
Mercedes: Russell and kimi will probably get a contract extension to end of 2027, they are doing what they need to do and are fast.
Ferrari: Charles just got a contract extension, Lewis will retire alongside leaving Ferrari, which I don’t think will be anytime soon the way he’s talking about it
Haas: bearman is pretty much waiting for that Ferrari seat to open up alongside Leclerc now. Not happening soon like I said. Ocon is preforming poorly and is the biggest risk of loosing a seat, but all you’re going to get is another driver like Camara to step in, nothing to big imo, would be interesting to see at most
Alpine: both drivers are performing
Aston: maybe Alonso will retire end of this year? Maybe not? But no one will be switching to join Aston apart from the Williams pair my guess (I’ll get onto them next), so you’d just get someone like Crawford or sthm. (Nothing against him or Alonso retiring but it’s not these high profile moves people are hyping up). Stroll is stroll, 1000 year Aston dynasty
Williams: probably the most likely to jump ship. It’s clear to me that Williams has a ceiling and that ceiling is podiums. Sainz and Albon have been long enough to know that unless daddy vowles has some elite brainwashing techniques going on. So maybe Sainz/Albon could step into Aston? But I think Alonso will stay this year and next
Cadillac: people talking about Bottas being replaced by Herta? Hate to see Bottas go he’s one of my favourite personalities, but like it’s still not that high profile move. Bottas is at best an upper midfield driver. Maybe Perez will jump to a more competitive team ? But where would he go apart from Williams or Aston or haas. Once again the top 4 teams I think will remain the same
Audi: bortoleto and hulkenburg will stay past this year I have no doubt
VCARB: if red bull doesn’t change I don’t see vcarbs lineup moving around much. Unless Lawson jumps ship to Williams or Aston or whatever (let’s be real it’s his only shot of a long term career unfortunately, unless he wants to be tsunoda 2.0). But frankly there’s better options than Lawson for other teams I fear.

Pretty much all I’m saying is I don’t see a high profile move being made (top 4 teams) I see most of the grid staying the same until 2027, exception of Ocon and maybe Bottas. I would LOVE to be proven wrong. Feel free to add insight, I might’ve just said absolute slop so don’t hate, just correct it or whatever so we can have a discussion, hence the title of the subreddit.

Struggling to work out what to do

Basically I’ve pretty much decided I have no intention of pursuing a university degree anymore. Which is crazy because me two years ago, hell even last year, would’ve sent me to a psych ward for even suggesting not trying to get a 80+ atar and going into law or sthm. But this year has put me on a roller coaster that’s led to me completely dropping the ball with studies etc, to the extent where I just straight up don’t care about most of my subjects.
In my eyes all I’m going to be doing in a uni degree is paying ~50k for a 4 year degree on avg to get a certificate that MIGHT get me a job? And i have to study for it? I just don’t see the appeal anymore, I’d rather go straight into employment, have no debt and make a bit of money from the get go. With the trade off of not getting into a ‘specialised job’, and let’s be real, me being a humanities art student there’s very limited opportunities that I’d enjoy doing and that are employable. Right now my top pick for employment is a police degree. Maybe lll look at tafe if anyone has suggestions.
So now I have the present moment. I dont see much reason to going unscored because something is better than nothing. All id being doing is removing a backup in my eyes. Plus my parents would dead ahh slime my ahh if i even mentioned the word “unscored” at the dinner table.
So I just continue doing my sacs and exams at the end of the year? But I have no motivation to those sacs, I have a literature sac tomorrow and I think I’m going to fail. I have no intention of putting in any more effort than studying the night before for any of my classes (apart from legal cause legal is 🔥🔥), so this entire year now feels like a waste of time and I’m just chudding around waiting for next year. And my mental health is taking a massive toll and my depression is certainly becoming more prominent (not as bad as last year but it’s getting there I think)

So my questions are:
Does my mentality need a check right now?
Should I consider going unscored?
What tafe courses should I consider if I go down that path (and explain it if you can: application process, what you do etc, cause I have no idea what it is about apart from it getting you into construction or sthm)
And just a general place for fellow people to rant if you want to in the comments because I like it when people hate against vce.

Lit sac tomorrow

In a hypothetical situation (definitely), how would you study for one day if you have done no work at home and been chudding around in class and have a lit sac tomorrow. The book is Admissions by Joshua Harmon, and part a is passage analysis and part b is looking at an article or something ? Aos2

I tried writing a practice essay but realised I’ve lost all my ability to write an essay at all and I can only identify themes rather than analyse them. I’m staring down the barrel of my first failure if I don’t do something today

What happened to Albons pace from early 2025

Comparing it mainly to the end of last season rather than this season, due to the car being in a different situation but still can compare to this season. Last year it seemed Albon had incredible pace up until Monza (though was unlucky between Spain and Austria with 3 dnfs in a row), getting a multiple p5 finishes, being disappointed with a p5 in imola as he was running into the podium places until a vsc/safety car iirc. Just thought I’d open a discussion to figure out why he had so much pace and then lost it all? He’s obviously a very skilled driver so was it confidence, luck, not enjoying certain circuits? I’ve not seen to much conversation about it so would be great to discuss since he’s one of my favourite drivers

How bad was Doohan’s stint in 2025 (and yas marina 2024)

I think if we removed the fact that there was money behind Colapinto compared to Doohan, he would had a pretty good chance of keeping a seat for the year? I also think he’s better than some people think, and if he didn’t have that stress of the contract he was give at alpine he would’ve done better my guess. He wasn’t to crash prone iirc
He had moments of pace, even in his second qualifying of his career in Melbourne but it was stop by a Ferrari spinning iirc. Nearly reached q3 in Bahrain but the car was quick that day. Etc what do you guys think

Politics sac tomorrow

I have a politics sac tomorrow morning and I’m low-key cooked. I find it very difficult to study for and putting together notes just seems impossible. There’s so many things that just connect to each other and I have no idea what I need to answer for different questions.

My topic is Armed conflict and the studies have been Ukraine and Sudan. Any help with the main topic points would be appreciated, and any other info, cause my teachers slides are pure slop from what looks like ages ago

Revs feedback

Can anyone give feedback and a ball park of where I’m at right now please :). I picked up the subject this year and this is a practice response I did in class.

The question: “The most significant consequences of the Bolshevik
Revolution were the social and cultural transformations it
brought to everyday life, rather than the political violence
used to consolidate power.
To what extent do you agree? Use evidence to support your
response.”.

My answer (it’s a bit different from what I wrote in the prac sac but oh well close enough):
The Bolshevik Revolution produced sweeping social and cultural transformations that fundamentally altered everyday life in Russia through changes to education, gender equality, religion, and class structure. However, while these transformations were highly significant, they ultimately relied upon the systematic use of political violence and repression to eliminate opposition and consolidate Bolshevik authority, therefore making political violence a consequence that was more significant to a large extent.
Firstly, the social and cultural transformations brought by the revolution were undoubtedly significant products of the Revolution, rather than consequences. Immediately after the October revolution of 1917, the Sovnarkom issued pragmatic decrees intended to fundamentally alter everyday life, such the Workers' Decrees, which restricted an eight-hour day of work per day. Furthermore, initiatives in women’s rights led by Alexandra Kollontai resulted in radical legislative changes, including the legalisation of abortion in 1920, improving the quality of women's rights compared to other European nations. Education was similarly transformed, with by 1926, literacy rates reached 51% as the regime sought to create a more capable population for the state. Artistic experimentation through movements like Constructivism further attempted to bring revolutionary culture into everyday life, the state encouraging expression which overwise would have been nonexistent. Historian Sheila Fitzpatrick argued that the Bolsheviks sought to create a “new Soviet person,” highlighting how these reforms were intended not merely to change laws, but to fundamentally reshape social values, behaviour, and identity according to socialist ideology.
However, the political violence used to consolidate power was a significant and definitive consequence because it established the authoritarian framework of the Soviet state. Historian Richard Pipes argues that the Bolsheviks were “born into violence,” suggesting that repression was not a temporary response to instability, but central features of Bolshevik ideology and governance from the outset. This was evident in the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly in January 1918, which marked the destruction of democratic opposition and demonstrated that the regime would prioritise a one-party state over popular representation. The founding of the Cheka under Felix Dzerzhinsky further institutionalised state terror, leading to the Red Terror, which claimed approximately 200,000 lives and entrenched political repression as a permanent feature of governance. Similarly, historian Sheila Fitzpatrick contends that the “practices of militarisation and centralised control”  during “crises” became a defining “feature of Soviet rule”, reinforcing the notion that violence was a fundamental consequence in order to consolidate Bolshevik power.
Political violence is further highlighted by the way it shaped and controlled social and cultural life, ultimately undermining many of the social changes introduced by the new state, particularly during the Russian Civil War (1918–1921). The radical policy of War Communism was adopted to ensure military survival, but its consequences were an economic and social disaster. Forced grain requisitioning triggered the 1921 Famine, which affected 25 million people and caused five million deaths and directly contradicted revolutionary promises of “Bread.”. This social catastrophe revealed the extent to which the regime was willing to sacrifice the wellbeing of its population, (the very workers and peasants it claimed to represent), to maintain political control. Historian Orlando Figes observes that this era created a "siege mentality" that legitimised coercion as an essential tool for defending power. The human cost of this violence was so profound that it led to the Kronstadt Revolt in 1921, where formerly loyal sailors condemned the Bolsheviks for turning Russia into an "all-Russian penal colony". While the subsequent New Economic Policy (NEP) in 1921 provided a "breathing spell" and restored some social stability, it was accompanied by a further political crackdown. ——

(It is cut short as I didn’t finish in the time limit and I think this is where I was at)
