T-Mobile has become the thing they said they weren't.

Yesterday my billing cycle closed and I switched to a prepaid service (Metro). I paid off the rest of my phone in the app (it unlocked within minutes which is a mass improvement over the 1-3 days iPhones used to take).

I've been with TMo over 10 years at this point. I only ported one of my lines out, so I made the call to Care to cancel the rest. The first rep I spoke with "tried" to save the lines, but ended up just transferring me to someone else who cancelled everything out. The call took about ten minutes, no hassle and everything was closed out.

I got to meet Callie Field and John Legere back in the day when I worked for Tmo from 2016-2021. I made InCrowd for my site. So many life lessons from my teammates who became friends. I got to finish my bachelor's and get a Master's thanks to tuition assistance.

In 2021, I left the company to go work in the recruiting industry and ended up in the nonprofit world, but it's saddened me to see all of the layoffs and watching as so many of my friends and old coworkers have been affected. Watching as now you can't escape the "upgrade fee" even thru the website or app, and then all the pushing of the cards in store.

In the end, I became just another customer, and T-Mobile another carrier. The end of an era.

Just Switched yesterday

Did I miss the window for a free phone? I ported a phone line over from T-Mobile, and then brought my Apple Watch as well. For some reason it wasn't working online so I went into the store, the rep was nice enough, didn't try to upsell me (though the watch line was $10 in store vs $5 online. I ended up not adding my tablet line as the store said it was lowest price $15/month vs the $5 online.

After I set my account up I looked online and it says watch and tablet lines are $5 after you've been a customer 30 days. I went with the $60 plan with AutoPay and Prime included, excited to still have access to T-Mobile Tuesdays.

Anything I should know as a new customer? Tips/tricks welcome!

Switching from T-Mobile

Hey yall, currently paying $200+/month with T-Mobile. Thinking of switching to US Mobile and choosing the T-Mobile service. I’d have one phone on their top unlimited plan, and then a second phone and tablet on a shared data plan, probably the 10GB if I remember right. I also have an Apple Watch but I don’t need service on it. I average 40-50GB/month of service on my main phone and no more than 5GB on the second phone and tablet. Travel to Canada a couple times a year. I live in East TN and also travel up to Michigan regularly, haven’t ever had an issue with coverage. I have an iPhone. Android and iPad.

My main concern is prioritization BUT like 97% of the time I have access to Wi-Fi so it probably won’t be an issue? Mainly use data in the car on my commute and then I have days where I travel for work, or when I travel across the state/to MI to see family.

I’m also concerned because my billing cycle for T-Mobile ends tomorrow and I’ll need to pay off my iPhone and unlock it, not sure if it will be done in time :/

Any info is helpful, thanks for checking!

**UPDATE** As of 6/27/26, I officially switched to Metro by T-Mobile... For now. I like that they have Prime included with their top plan, Watch/tablet lines are only $5/month (though the fine print on the website says you have to wait 30 days before you can access it which is interesting). I ended up switching my phone/watch for now and will see how I get on just using my second phone with Wi-Fi (I mainly use it for internet browsing/Pokemon Go). I'm going to keep an eye on US Mobile and may switch in the future, thanks for sharing your perspectives y'all!

Manga Review

Hey yall, I recently learned that one tier of Crunchyroll has manga available to read. I saw that they seem to have most of the bigger manga titles, but I was curious if anyone knows if they have stuff like That time I got reincarnated as a slime, Konosuba, not allowed in another world, Tojima wants to be a kamen rider, and romance titles like you and I are polar opposites.

I’m also curious if they have any ✨spicy✨manga selections 👀

Would like to hear about folks’ experience reading and using the service, thanks for looking!
