Has anyone experienced this?

I've had this on my legs for about 4 months, it got worse since I moved to a house with dogs. Have tried everything, lamisil, canesten and cetaphil exfoliating cleanser, moisturising in the mornings and after showers, with no results. I have to admit not been drinking enough water maybe a liter or two per day. It itches at times, maybe when I'm a bit stressed or overthinking.

Australia Architecture career re-start, unlucky or not doing enough? Am I missing something?

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to get some honest advice from people who've been through something similar.

I'm a 34m Venezuelan architect with a masters degree, a 5 year study career, with a little over five years of experience in residential, commercial and interior projects.

I moved to Australia in 2022 and initially settled in Hobart, Tasmania. While I was there, I completed Revit/BIM training and did a placement for a month with an architecture firm to get some local experience and understand how things are done here.

Earlier this year (April), I moved to Brisbane because I knew there would be more opportunities in architecture. I also recently became an Australian citizen, so I have full working rights and don't need sponsorship.

For the past couple of months I've been applying pretty much every day. I've tailored my CV and portfolio, written different cover letters, reached out to recruiters, connected with architects on LinkedIn, attended networking events... basically trying everything I can think of.

I've had some really positive feedback. A few recruiters have told me I have a strong background, and I've had some good conversations with people in the industry, but I still haven't landed my first job.

I'm starting to wonder if this is just how difficult it is to break into the industry here, or if there's something I'm not seeing.

If you were an international architect, how long did it take you to get your first role?

Was there something that finally made the difference?

I'd really appreciate any advice, even if it's something I might not want to hear.

Thanks!

Australian Citizenship test passed!

Passport: Venezuela.

Yesterday I had the citizenship test at the Brisbane CBD office. Very easy and straightforward test.

Arrived in Tasmania April 2022 on a Partner Visa 309, visa 100 granted in June 2024, moved to Brisbane in April 2026, applied for citizenship June 2026.

Now is just to wait the processing, approval and date for the ceremony.

Best of luck to you all!

Citizenship test/interview documents to take with you

Hi guys, I uploaded a white background photo I took myself and got approved within the application. Then i got the citizenship test appointment only a monthafterI applied and paid for the citizenship test.

I've seen people go to an Australia Post service to have their pictures taken. Should I update the picture regardless or not?

Another question is, what documents do you need to take with you to the appointment? Besides a copy of the appointment letter and and an ID?

Thanks
