As a mixed Asian in the United States, I'm embarrassed by anti-China sabrerattling.

First off, China worked hard and earned every bit of success through sheer hardwork and determination. After Deng Xiaoping opened up China and made his reforms, Chinas economy grew by leaps and bounds. US is a great nation, but I truly believe we have culturally stagnated, while China rose to the occasion, with some even saying, they have beat us at our own game.

Here's a link to an article titled, don't blame China for America's lost focus.

https://www.cincinnati.com/story/opinion/contributors/2026/07/31/chinas-rise-exposes-americas-own-failures/91074869007/

America could be a much stronger country, if we hadnt become complacent and see it as our inherent and natural, eternal right to be the world'sdominant superpower. For some reason, we seems to have collectively forgot that it takes hard work to stay at the top. The politicians in the US are amazingly arrogant and incompetent, imo. I'll also post a video, in the comments section, of the type of US hypocrisy I'm talking about.

Statistics from RAINN about perpetrators of rape

60% of rapes are committed by someone known to the victim.

31% are committed by strangers; 28.3% are committed by well-known or casual acquaintances; 21.4% are committed by intimate partners; 13.1% are committed by other relatives; 3.7% are committed by an unknown number of perpetrators; 2.5% are committed by someone with an unknown relationship to the victim.

The majority of rapes are committed by someone a woman knows or may even trust. Rape by an intimate partner is not uncommon.

I'm a very safety conscious woman, and I remember having this distinct thought as an elementary schooler, that I better not date a boy, just in case we become close and hang out at each other's houses. And being possibly raped in my sleep by a boy was one of fears. This was years before I came out as a lesbian. 4b, I think can, be a very smart and safe choice for any woman. 4b can make it easier to control the trajectory of one's own life.

Thoughts on men, patriarchy, and what we can do to improve the situation

Male culture and perpectives have dominated the planet for thousands of years. There is an imbalance as a result, as everything is skewed towards maintaining this culture.

of male dominance. A movement toward greater female autonomy and freedom is shunned by most men around the world. I feel like maybe all this male opposition towards female liberation is rooted in biology if even partially. I think male interests differ from women's. As we can see today, female liberation is contrary to what men desire for us, so they either shun or condemn it. I think mentally and psychologically, it's easy for men to feel entitled and to disregard women's boundaries.

Patriarchy and patriarchal religions only encourage and justify this sense of entitlement. In order to defeat the patriarchy, you'd irl have to do something drastic, like not allowing certain male bloodlines to reproduce, which I'm not advocating for. I think that we'd have to overhaul the educational system and maybe encourage and promote secularism in society aggressively, just like how Christians send out missionaries to convert people to their religion.

I'm just wondering if lower birthrates could lead to a better future in regard to liberation or if they'll just use it to usher in the handmaid's tale irl. I also think women can play their part by stepping away from organized religions that push gender role bs and do more harm than good. We don't need to be emotionally invested in religions which don't do anything positive for us. It's 2026, and liberation and gynarchy are still relevant and necessary in America, because women in many Republican run states are forced to obey unfair laws which harm them. I'm referring to the anti abortion laws that have been passed.

I so wish to see positive changes come about, but I'm not holding my breath.

How do people get so emotionally invested in supporting and upholding patriarchy?

I just wonder how it's even possible for people on a mass scale, worldwide, to be against women rights. Why some seem to fervently support the subjugation of women.

Is it just a matter of religion and religious brainwashing?

I happened to watch this 6 minute video. Link is here

https://youtu.be/XD3piAfSSkg?si=BIvlAxk34GsMS32j

This video talks about spiritual awakening but is relevant to this discussion, because it talks about how as an awakened person, you see through societal illusions and the lies people believe in.

The scariest part of all this is that there are many conservative and or religious women who are deeply invested in the status quo and patriarchy. We, here, know that patriarchy totally disregards women and our overall wellbeing. The math aint mathing. I cannot even comprehend it, its so illogical to support patriarchy especially if you are a woman.

The difference between spirituality vs organized religion

Religion does not equal spirituality. Some of the most judgment, arrogant, hypocritical people are followers of organized religion. The ones that are truly spiritual, the kind that seem to radiate inner light, calmness and positivity- they are the ones who live peacefully with others.

they live good lives and don't get excessively fixated on focusing on the faults of others. I think this comes from inner awareness, a recognition of the humanity of others and sense of maturity. I think Dolores cannon is a good example of one such person. She spent her life trying to help others and better people's lives in her own unique way. She didn't condemn people or attack people for believing differently than she did. Her works have been an inspiration to me, and helped me on my awakening journey. I've grown closer to God/Source thanks to her and other spiritual teachers.

Men have weaponized their power against female-kind for thousands of years. The only way to resist and fight back is by embracing gynarchist principles.

Throughout history even until the present day, men have pillaged raped and taken captive women from different tribes and war rape is still, unfortunately, very common. It dawned on me, that women could have had a utopian existence if it weren't for the masses of men, who think nothing of destroying women's lives. I imagine female solidarity would be everywhere were it not for the violence of man, and the institution of patriarchy and patriarchal organized religions.

They want to take away the most effective forms of birth control (iud) and legal abortion, because they want women to be incubators and breeding machines. There is no balance. Male culture has dominated the planet for thousands of years. Also, due to simple biology, women are at a disadvantage to men. For example, a woman could be on birthcontrol but still get pregnant, because no bc is 100% effective.

Yet some men wonder why women are careful who they sleep with and get into relationships with. As a lesbian, what concerns me the most is the coercive nature of the heteropatriarchy. Men have internalized the belief that they are owed women's labor and bodies (sexµal access). Male domination has sucked for women; however there are some, who I call handmaidens, who are OK with it. I don't get these women.

I think that the discourse surrounding women gatekeeping sëx and withholding sexµal access is problematic. Men's complaints about this aren't valid, imo. Men will never have to deal with an unwanted pregnancy. Once again, men should pick a lane. I've heard plenty of men complain that women are loose and have high body counts, or that women won't give good guys a chance (sexually).

Discussion below on Republican hypocrisy and reliance on welfare (blue states money).

I think Republican ideology wouldn't be able to sustain itself without blue state money. Democrats, with all their flaws, is the more rational of the two political parties. It's a well known fact, that blue states contribute more to the federal pot than red states. There are exceptions to this rule- Tennessee and Texas for example are net contributors not takers. I think republican politicians are criminals- they want to compel women to birth kids, but they also believing in slashing welfare programs for the poor and needy.

Is this a joke? Republican politicians and Maga are the biggest bull$hitters. They have this vision for America, that is stuck in the past. In today's economic reality, basic survival is getting more difficult. They promote patriarchy, religion, and traditional families and promote the idea that staying at home is better for the children. Anyone can see that there are risks to staying out of the workforce. If they really wanted more women to choose the traditional way of living, then they have to make it an economically viable and rewarding choice for mothers.

Republicans always have smoke for liberals and democrats but they are biting the hand that feeds them. Liberal and educated women, delay motherhood until they can afford to support kids and believe in birth control. They are doing things the right way, but get Shit on endlessly. They are blamed for the downfall of society and accused of being bad mothers. Why? Its almost as if Republicans cannot think critically or logically. For decades, It's always been pull yourself up by the bootstraps, and women collectively did that. Now, they are blaming feminism and secularism for the plunging birthrates. I wish they'd pick a lane. We will never again, not be a welfare state. Red states, with their prolife ideology and religious views, will help to ensure this the case.

I also believe that smaller families should be normalized. Radical feminism and working are not at odds with family. I personally feel that both are a fulfillment of motherly love. This is why I also appreciate the views in Linda hirschmans book, get to work- a manifesto for the women of the world. Her book is a good read and inspiration to me. It basically validated all the thoughts I've had about motherhood.
