This is a follow up from last week. I placed a Russian/Italian hybrid small queen from Lappes bee supply in a California mini cage in on Wednesday night. Went back this morning and the cage was empty the candy was gone. Would they release her if they weren’t going to accept her? First time requeening. I am feeding them, I’m in KY 6B.

I have a queen coming tomorrow but my state is getting targeted for severe storms and possible tornadoes. What do I do with her? Do I try to install her in the rain? Do I push the cage into the bottom entrance and leave her till Wednesday?

Does anyone know if I can night fish on the beach at Hilton Head island? I’ve never tried night fishing and I see signs about white lights and sea turtles but I have a red lantern.

So I have a hive in two deep boxes. My bees basically refuse to use the bottom box. My queen lays all in the top and honey production is taking place up there. How do I convince them to use the frames in the bottom too in preparation for winter?

Anyone know when the 4th of July crowds clear out? We’re coming down on the 6th and staying on Foley Field. Really just want to surf fish. Don’t much care if I can sit and be on the beach. Will usually be getting down there around 6:30-7:00 with the kids. We have private access where we are staying

Anyone have any experience with the Dadant 8 frame beetle trap bottom boards? They’re adapted from 10 frame bottom boards and some people have stated they leak as there’s a lip that’s open to rainwater. Does anyone have an alternative beetle trap that fits an 8 frame that they like?

I hve a pair of nice Dadant sheepskin gloves. I just washed them in dye free detergent with my bee suit and they’re blue. No idea where the blue came from unless the dye from the size (on my gloves) bled. Will this hurt my bees? Can I still use them?

Title basically says it all. I’m nervous as all get out over my new daughter coming and my wife’s repeat c section. I think I am allowed to stay with her in the OR but I am not sure. I won’t find out till tomorrow but that doesn’t help me get through today.
