Boss wants to know where I am at all times

My company recently restructured so I have a new direct manager. She wants to know where I am at all times. I am in a cubicle and she is In a private office. We have “focus rooms” downstairs that are supposed to be used for calls or when we need private and quiet space to get work done. I frequent them a lot and it always seems like she needs me the second I leave to go there. At our check in this week, she said that she was looking for me, what happened, did I leave early. I said you could always message me if you’re looking for me :) she didn’t like that, so now I am inviting her to the calendar appointment each time. Totally feels like a lack of trust and so toxic of her. Hopefully won’t be here much longer.

Fallout: she emailed me after work hours about an hour ago and said I did not need to spam her email with calendar invites. I replied immediately and copied not only our big boss but also HR asking for a time for everyone to meet :)

Bringing allergy drops into Canada

Has anyone ever brought their drops across the Canadian border (US to Canada) by car? I’m going tomorrow and was planning on bringing them, but realized I don’t have a note or “prescription “ to take with me, just my tracking chart.

AIO for not wanting to have a wedding?

My boyfriend and I are looking at engagement rings (ahhh!) and I think he’s going to propose literally any second now (we have been together over 4 years and he’s the love of my life). We originally talked about eloping instead of having a wedding. He would rather have a wedding but would be open to either. Recently, I have thought that it might be nice to have a small wedding.

At dinner last night, we were talking with family about weddings in general because some cousins and friends are getting married and there’s a lot of wedding talk lately. I mentioned that I still would be open to eloping. My dad got so upset and said the whole point of a father is to walk their daughter down the aisle (and a bunch of other things like that). For background, my dad was extremely abusive to my mom and brothers and I growing up. I have somewhat of a relationship now, but it’s very surface level. After hearing that, I immediately am back to 100% I want to elope. The thought of my dad walking me down the aisle makes me want to cry, and not in a good way. AIO for changing my mind over that comment?

Friend jealousy

Hi yall,

My (26f) friend from college (27f) lives about 2 hours away in another state. Her best friend that we also went to college with (27m) lives very close to me. We all hung out a few months ago and my friend encouraged the 2 of us to hang out together more since we live so close! Plus we have always been friends since college, just not as close as her and him. She’s coming to visit him next weekend and he made plans for the 3 of us to hang one of the days.
I mentioned it to her in text, she ignored it. Unrelated, I sent her a funny post on Instagram, she read and didn’t reply. So I texted her and asked if she was upset with me. She said she is jealous I hang out with her best friend a lot and she can’t (mind you it’s been maybe 3 hang outs in the past 4 months). I’m very confused bc we are all adults and almost 30 basically. She’s giving me major attitude and being rude to me and I’m not sure what to do about it?

AITA for not taking off work to see a friend?

Hi! I have a friend who lives a state away, so about an hour and 45 minutes. She is coming in to town in a few weeks to visit another friend of ours(who she is much closer to than I am) for a weekend. She asked if we could hang out on a Friday while the friend she is visiting is at work. I also work on Fridays but remotely. At first I said possibly, but now I realize it may be tricky to take that day off. I offered to hang over the weekend instead, but she says they have their entire weekend planned.

I’m totally feeling used as a place for her to go/something for her to do while our friend she’s staying with is working. She is really pushing for me to take the day off but I just don’t want to use a vacation day for that. Am I wrong for not making the time for her to come see me?

Hi everyone, I have decided to start immunotherapy for my allergies and cannot decide between shots or drops. My allergies include dust mites, anima dander, pollen, mold, grass (basically the whole indoor panel). Insurance covers shots in full, but I don’t love the idea of going to the office weekly. Any advice?
