One of those students

I’m assuming this is a type of student because I’ve had them multiple times before.

Yknow, the one that has to comment on EVERYTHING. Initially they do it with their hand up under the guise of contributing to the class, “oh we did that in my family’s firm too”…. Then they just start blurting shit out over the person who’s talking.

Sometimes it’s the exact thing you just said followed by an “oh yeah that’s right” or something.

When you have other students presenting and they want to talk through their presentation.

She does it in normal conversations too. With everyone, not just me. It’s 100% some kind of insecurity.

My question; should I tell this person? She’s 20, so very good chance nobody has ever said that it’s absolutely annoying. I control it in class obviously to keep other students from being distracted but I truly don’t think she realizes it annoys the fuck out of anyone who talks to her. Other professors have even made this note who haven’t taught her yet.

Otherwise she’s really a bright person and has a great future if she can get a handle on this. Do I say something, or just let her figure it out one day?

Edit: I do agree this may be adhd related, and I do appreciate those reminding me of this. I also have Audhd and want to be clear I don’t think this makes her a bad person or anything, but rather questioning is it my place to point this out so she can improve in a professional setting. Thanks for all the advice so far!

Cialis for the reboot period / first couple times with a woman?

Hey guys,

Pretty sure I have PIED. Things still work especially if I leave it alone for a while, but tried to have sex twice this week and while I made it work, it took a while to get up and the first time was only about 70%, with no pills. 2nd time I used a hims pill and it was 110%.

So, stuff still works. The ed isn’t physical, I guess. I am healthy in a physiological manner- gym, running, mostly healthy food, no alcohol or nicotine, and it got up when receiving oral, so it functions.

Definitely got caught in the performance thought loop at the start of both times. This makes me think it’s the porn, watched it from ~13 to 28.

I’ve stopped back in May for about a month, relapsed in middle of June, back off for 15 days now. I don’t want to go cold turkey, I just want to stop P and M. O with someone else is okay in my book, I want my brain to be wired to be excited about O with someone else.

ANYWAYS - this person is great, she’s awesome, and the sex + dates are really fun. I don’t want to use the pills forever, but it would be great to keep having good sex while I continue to get away from the P and M.

So my biggest question: has anyone used Cialis during the period you got off of porn, then returned to normal erections after tapering off of the Cialis once you’d been off of porn for a while?

Follow up: How to tell if it’s psychological?

Hey guys,

Made a post a few days ago about first time using hims mints, https://www.reddit.com/r/erectiledysfunction/s/vLfCjyzbXn

So this is a follow up. It’s been over 36 hours since I took the pill (so from what I understand that means the Cialis is not active anymore & the Viagra is definitely not active).

Did some testing today. At 37 hours since pill I was able to get about 90% hard with just imagination and stimulation. No porn, literally thoughts and standing in the shower.

Now, at about 44 hours I am still able to get one under same circumstances. No porn, eyes shut, no death grip. It’s a lot harder to keep it than it was this morning, but still about 80-90% there and w/ stimulation it stays.

SO. I’m thinking this means my issues last Saturday were maybe psychological? It was the first time me and this woman had sex, so I was a bit in my head.

Any thoughts? Is there a definite way to determine that’s the problem or if it’s a physiological one?

28m, 230lb 6ft 2in, BP 130 over ~82. Insight?

Hi!

I consistently test at around 130/80 or so anytime I go to a dr and they’re doing a vitals check. Got a monitor at home and I also check it.

Should I be trying to bring this down? Nurses always say “that’s a little high”. But never really go further than that.

I lift 4-6x a week, try to run at least 1x a week for 4-7 miles, walk my dog 1-2 hours a day, only time I’m really sedentary is in the office at work which is no more than ~5-6 hours a day. Most of my hobbies are active like hiking swimming dancing etc. I have a belly but that’s about it. No alcohol. Got off of nicotine two years ago because I was at like 145/90 constantly.

My diet isn’t great but I’m taking steps to improve it. I’m sure my sodium consumption is high.

Biggest thing is all the men on my dad’s side died to heart attacks or cardiovascular stuff. Trying to get ahead of the game here, how can I get those numbers down to 120/70?

Tried viagra/cialis combo, was amazing. Is there a downside to this?

I got out of a decade long relationship this spring that I think partially ended due to mid/bad sex. Plenty of other stuff but being soft-hard and the resulting boredom on both ends played a role.

Slept with someone else this past weekend, was able to get things up but same thing, could get about 80% hard but I know it’s not full power and I had to fight for my life to keep it hard through position switches and giving oral, etc.

Another friend had some hims viagra/cialis mints. Yeah chastise me I didn’t go to a doctor, I cut one in half and ate it earlier before going to see her again tonight.

I was still struggling to get it up at first, mostly worrying about if the pills would work or if I’d just be shrimpin it….. until I wasn’t. I definitely now know there is a psychological aspect because my mind was literally not letting the drugs do their job, until she started giving me some head and then it’s literally the hardest I’ve been in a decade. This woman came four times. I’ve never done that. Once or twice yeah, but not four lmao.

So. What’s the catch. Where will the problem lie? I’m 28m, I gym 5-6x a week, running in there too, eat mostly healthy have a semi physical job… I do all the things that people recommend before trying the drugs and now that I know the drugs are like, fucking amazing, is there a reason I shouldn’t use them (after getting my own script)?

Study Abroad Recommendations??

Hi! My study abroad proposal was approved, it’s shaping up nicely and this summer I will be visiting the partnering organization in the program country.

I don’t want to dox myself so I’ll keep it brief, but i should be there for about 5-6 days to see the housing facilities, the learning facilities + opportunities, view some of the weekend excursions and such.

Very excited to do this. For those of you who have run a program or have some experience here, anything you would have done differently on your visitation trip? Questions i should ask? Luckily someone from the SA dept will be going as well so they will be able to handle the more logistical/legal/etc stuff.

Thanks!

Almost 2 years

The original account I came here on is gone, months ago, but wanted to pop in and say you can do it.

This August will be 2 years for me. There was someone on this sub who pushed me to do it and I’m still off of it.

Sometimes if I smell a cigarette I want to crawl out of my skin for it but other than that really no triggers… I use cbd pouches for oral fixation here and there.

You can do it! My anxiety level is way down, weird heart feelings and blood pressure problems are gone, there’s more but I don’t wanna drone on.

You’ll even find ways to deal with stress better. I’ve been processing an 8-year relationship coming to an end and aside from the initial shock I haven’t caved into deal with it with nicotine

You can do it!

Housing recs in Austin area?

Hello all,

Looking for a new area of town to move to? I have some familiarity with the city, but I don’t really know the different neighborhoods and which would be a good place. Here’s some info:

* single 28m
* I could probably do $1500-$1600/mo
* have a medium/small dog that I walk 2x a day
* nearby gym would be cool but not necessary
* mopac is my western boundary to keep my work commute decent (i have to go east)
* some level of social stuff / things to do nearby. I’ve lived in strip-mall suburbia or small rural towns my whole life. I’d love to be able to just walk down to yoga or a store or a bar/club, etc.
* townhome, house, apartment, or condo are all okay.

Areas I’ve looked, if you have feedback on them or others: Hyde park, what i think is “north Austin’ (183/lamar up to Walnut Creek) mueller, pflugerville.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Community College profs, do you do research?

Hi, curious if any other CC professors place any major focus on research? Applied STEM field if it matters.

It’s not a part of my job requirements but I feel like getting the transfer students a poster presentation or something minimal by the time they graduate would be beneficial for their transition to university.

How do you involve students? I’ve heard of some classes doing research with their entire class as part of the curriculum - cool, who publishes it? We aren’t putting 22 people on the title of a poster, how do you determine who’s presenting it, etc?

Here’s what I’ve done, any feedback is appreciated: made offers during lecture periods to ask help on projects, I got a pool of about 5-6 students this way who are interested. Planning on running 3 experiments this summer and assigning 2 people to each experiment/poster, guiding them through poster creation and basic statistics, then taking them to a conference this fall to present. This has roughly met my goal, but curious if anyone has a better way.

Thanks!
