How do people play this

I spent hours collecting 3 wither skulls. I finally got them, so I went home and made a box in my strip mine to spawn the wither. I place the final skull, but instead of spawning in, it just disappears.

The wither and its health bar are gone. I’m in my tiny strip mine, so it’s not like it went anywhere. I reload my world and it’s nowhere to be seen. I go into spectator mode in a creative copy of the world thinking, maybe it phased through my stripmine into a chasm nearby? But the spot I spawned it was surrounded by solid blocks for at least 50 blocks all around me.

I said screw it and turned on cheats to give myself 3 more skulls, but now I feel even worse because I can’t get achievements on this world now, and i simply don’t want to play anymore. This was worse than the desync bug that insta kills you (which happened to me at least 3 times in the month that I’ve been playing this world). With the insta kill bug, I was lucky enough to never be over the void or near lava so I only lost xp. Same with the invisible zombie piglin bug that killed me a few times, I thankfully never lost anything other than my xp.

I’m also really tired of the smaller bugs that happen constantly. Items will randomly disappear from my inventory or become invisible, sometimes requiring me to relog to get them back. Sometimes I’ll desync and everything I did in the last minute, like crafting or building, gets undone. My animals will magically escape from their pens when I reload the area, and I’ve yet to figure out how to farm sheep without wolves magically getting in their pen and killing everything.

I understand this version can still be enjoyable for people. If you find enjoyment in it, great! But I’d recommend never playing Java version as it would ruin bedrock for you. I’ve literally never experienced bugs like this on Java - and certainly not bugs that could ruin a save, like the many instadeath bugs.

I can’t stand the gross UI and how there’s a pop up whenever I load the game to spend real money on their minecoins. I don’t understand why the offhand still doesn’t work while it’s been a Java feature for like 6 years now. I hate not being able to mod the game. The redstone is literally broken and illogical. I remember years ago people always said, “at least bedrock is more optimized” but that’s literally a lie. I play on a brand new series s that only has 2 other games downloaded to it, and the lag I experience regularly makes the game unplayable. My second hand gaming laptop that cost $120 was able to handle the game way better, plus I had 30+ mods running and YouTube and discord in the background.

I can’t wait to get a new pc so I can never play this version again. I know a lot of people feel some type of way over bedrock because “it’s the only version available to them” but honestly just get a used laptop and you’ll be way happier for it. You can find a used laptop for less than $200 that gives you access to a superior version of the game instead of playing an unoptimized, buggy, knockoff on a $200+ console or $500+ smartphone. Sorry for the novel but I had to get this off my chest; ok rant over.

Can’t cast with Oculus Quest 2

I’ve been able to cast to my phone before, but literally nothing worked when I tried yesterday.

When I try casting from the app on my phone, the “searching for your headset” page pops up for a few seconds, then it just closes and returns to the last page without actually casting.

I have tried casting from the camera app on my headset; the red dot will appear in the top right as if I’m casting, then a message will appear saying something failed. I’ve tried casting to both my phone and my Chromebook from the headset, same issues.

I’ve tried redownloading the meta horizons app and repairing the headset; I’ve tried downloading the app on a newer iPhone; I’ve restarted my headset; I’ve FACTORY RESET my headset, but I STILL can’t cast to anything.

They are obviously both connected to the same WiFi network. It isn’t a wifi issue preventing them from casting because it has worked in the past.

Is the "Search for Jobinson's Jersey" questline still available? [Question]

It isn't showing up for me in my quest book. I remember playing it maybe a year or two ago on my last vault, and I don't recall it being an unlockable quest, rather it was available as soon as you built the overseer's office. Can't find any info on how to begin the quest either.

[Vault] Thoughts on this layout?

Are there any issues with this layout I'm not aware of? Am I lacking any production buildings for a max vault?

Potential Scam Farms on Instagram

Hello, I recently saw a very disturbing video on my Instagram feed. This woman claims Palm Beach Pete is actually Epstein, then follows it up by begging for donations for “Omar in Gaza.” She has a link tree of like 10 different individual donation links for different “families” in Gaza. It all seems very fishy. All the accounts “based in Gaza” were made in the past few weeks (it isn’t hard to spoof your location with a VPN when making an Instagram account so it appears it’s made in Palestine). These “Palestinian” accounts almost entirely only repost this woman’s reels. The comments across the accounts are full of the same accounts boosting each other’s videos. Her reels often begin with a strange antisemitic conspiracy to try and gain retention. I’d appreciate it if you guys could look into it.

Regardless if it’s real or not, I think it’s irresponsible for people to encourage donating to personal donation links instead of verified channels like PCRF or Doctors Without Borders, but maybe I’m wrong.

Her main account on Instagram is @vitalfreeze
Her backup is @suitablehost
The first video I found is here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbErQJBxll6/?igsh=MWhudjU2cXNxenV4Ng==

Please let me know what you guys think.

St Luke’s pre-employment drug screen

I have an interview with St Luke’s this Monday for a sleep tech position. I had no idea they test for nicotine until today. I vape occasionally when I’m out with friends, and I so I was using nicotine both this Friday and Saturday. Am I screwed? Can I ask to have my test pushed back a few days, or will that be an automatic no-hire?

And is anyone familiar with the type of nicotine tests they do? Will it be a mouth swab or urine test? From what I understand, nicotine is detectable longer when using urine tests. I really want this job, but now I’m panicking that I won’t get it over something so silly. Would being honest in the interview be the right move, or should I just say I don’t use nicotine and hope it’s out of my system by the time of the test?

Question about Bedrock Village Mechanics

I want to build an iron farm near my base, but finding factual information about bedrock's village mechanics seems difficult. I'd like to know exactly how far away my the farm needs to be from other beds/work stations.

I keep seeing people claim that they should be 100 blocks away from the farm, but this obviously isn't correct since minecraft mechanics don't work off base-ten numbers. I've also seen people claim 96 blocks and 144 blocks as the cut-off, but I can't find a clear answer.

Also, after building my farm, can I then add extra workstations around it without breaking the farm? I understand nearby beds will break the farm, but exactly how far away do they need to be from village center?

If I build the farm underground, can I freely use and sleep in beds on the surface? I heard that villagers can't detect extra beds that are more than 4 blocks above or below their main bed, but I could be misunderstanding the mechanic.

My goal is to have an iron farm in my town center (underground) so it stays loaded. Obviously, I'd like to use workstations and beds as decoration on the surface, but I don't know if it's safe to.

Also, if I'm on the surface, near my farm at night, do I have to run 144+ blocks away just to place a bed and sleep, or can I sleep on the surface without breaking the farm?
