I know this group is mostly about bags, but I wanted to pick up a new bottle of perfume while I was in Europe. I ran out of time in Amsterdam and Paris so I figured I was out of luck. But imagine my surprise when I walked into my terminal and right in front of me was Hermes! I picked up a bottle of Un Jardin Sur le Nil duty-free. They also had a ton of twillies, RTW, and a nice display of bags.
I bought a purse from Smaak Amsterdam. They didn’t give me paperwork. Instead they submitted my refund request through VATFree and I got a couple of emails. I downloaded the app. When I sign in with my email address, I can see the pending refund of almost €40. it asks for my passport but I’ve tried to take a photocopy of it a dozen times, and it keeps saying “no valid passport detected.” There’s no way to manually enter it. Then it has a spot to upload my exit customs stamp (???) and I don’t have any paperwork to stamp. Only my original receipt. The FAQ has been no help.
The other purse I bought used Global Blue and I already have a barcode to scan at the airport. That was very simple.
Any suggestions? I leave tomorrow.
We went to the Longchamp store on Champs-Elysees today. It was busy but a “well oiled machine.” As I was waiting to try on sizes I started talking to another American, and it turns out we live an hour apart!!! Small world!
I got the Small Handbag in Galet/Pebble. €115 minus €13.8 VAT, comes to about $119 USD.
I was on the hunt for three bags.

I went to the Art Zoo Museum today and saw the T-Rex bag. It’s made of man made leather derived from fossilized skin cells and other science stuff. It’s on display until 5/11 and then will be auctioned off.
I have the navy Florentine satchel and I love it. So in the most recent sale, I bought a larger version, but it’s not the same. Are there Dooney versus I love Dooney differences? I feel like the first one is higher quality. The zipper is finished versus hanging out. Different labels in the front. Overall just different leather smell and feel.
I have two 9 hour flights coming up, and from personal experience on shorter flights, I end up dehydrated and dry. I already have a huge water bottle, and I do plan on doing skincare before I try to sleep.
But I was hoping for suggestions for some sort of moisturizing spray I can use periodically on top of my make up and then on top of my skin care. Nothing with a strong smell or too many actives. Preferably something I can pick up at Ulta or target (although I do have Sephora too).
