Stories You’d Share With Students?

Hey there everyone. I’ve volunteered to talk to a bunch of students about my marketing job at a tennis club, and thought it might be fun to pull quotes and stories off of Reddit (specifically attributing them as such) about the club industry.

Does anyone have any experiences or fun stories (maybe typical of the industry) they’d like to share?

Office Donut Etiquette is Infuriating

Does this happen in corporate as well? I work in a large med clinic in a medium sized city - at least 50 or so employees here at any given time — Clients and reps bring donuts every so often. And Gd forbid someone speaks up and asks to split a donut with someone else… HECK, our reps aren’t cheapskates either — they come with enough to feed two shifts worth of staff….

Now before you start picturing a “vanity clinic” of young pretty females with lip filler and shiny Hyaluronic Acid donned face skin… Don’t. The majority of my peers get their “Buy 9 Entrees Get The 10th Free” cards punched at the Panda Express in the downstairs food hall everyday for lunch. I’m not knocking anyone — I’m just saying, by 11am, we’re cracking open another “Extra Extra Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla” coffee cream bottle.

Idk - I just want to scarf down a whole a French Cruller without feeling like I’m an uncultured raccoon 😮‍💨

Edit: “what am I infuriated about” ?? 1. Chocolate icing on my French Cruller — 2. The occasional finger print on a donut when someone holds it down — 3. The boxes of wasted donuts in the trash by lunch time. !!!!
