Just spent a week with this cutie
Had this soft top 2026 while my 2013 was getting a recall done
It was interesting to see what current year tech has going on
Yapping comments:
1 Theres a little too much tech in my opinion, (i personally like 2016-2019 car tech but ive also only owned as new as a 2017 in general) the lack of buttons and shifter is so unnerving to me 😭 plus everything on a screen , the pop display , & subscriptions needed for some features 🥀
2 That said i love all the cameras so much its so nice to have as a secondary back up to my own eyes plus the auto record on collision detection
3 It rides so smoothly! the service person mentioned they changed some things in the axel & engine set up I think its pretty nice
4 I got rid of my beetle convertible to get my current mini & one of the reasons was the lack of activity my softtop actually got since im so picky about the conditions ill actually use it in but am this car are had made me reconsider for the future. I love that it has the option to like only do half/sun roof it
5 I missed keyless start soso much 😭 but the whole starting/stopping/unlocking proximity thing seems more like a hazard over a benefit, fortunately you can tweak the settings alittle! I also missed having a locking gas door too it felt like such a nice extra protection from my enemies (i have none 😂)
6 The truck opening style is so nice and the backseat cup holders are a nice touch but this one didnt have visible exhaust (?)
7 I saw some tiktok post and someone mentioned the new interiors look like jbl speakers and i def agree lol its not the best but not the worst. The sound quality was very nice too!
8 I didnt drive it a ton (mini’s insurance deductible starts at 5k!!) and im a “chill” (dont drive manual or use the boost paddles) driver plus mostly having “older” cars but i think it had very nice getting up to speed and vibe driving
9 Overall i still love mini ofcourse but i hope they bring some buttons back and little bit more of the old school/retro quirkiness back
