Hyper aggressive finance managers

Went with my mother in law who doesn’t speak very good English to buy a new rav4, and ended up being the bad guy. Pretty simple, we want a brand new rav4, no stupid options; no extension warranty packages , nothing. When declining these options the manager become almost aggressive , would not stop arguing with me and trying to convince her over my head, and this is not some sketchy buy here pay here, this is the biggest Toyota dealer with a good reputation in a pretty big metro area. We ended up leaving without the car, I can’t imagine how many people he has sold these extended warranties and add-on to because it’s very hard to say no to a slick talker.
Absolutely disgusting experience

There are not unlimited 2002-2009 Hondas and Toyotas

They are $5000 with 320,000 miles on their second motor, please stop telling people this tired old shit, these cars are not “ bulletproof” , and for new cars, hondas and Toyotas are not any better then the competition

Why do people never listen to the 100000 daily post telling people to not become a mechanic

Everyday “ hey I wanna be a mechanic “ bro . Everyone is telling you, warning you not to walk into this shit field . I don’t give a fuck you “ like to work on cars” , getting into this field is a sure way to make sure you never will enjoy that again .
I should have listened, you need to listen, this is literally the worse career choice you can make, and I mean that . Absolute nothing even come close, name one other job on earth that requires you to show up with 50k in tools to get the chance to make some money, flat rate is unique to this industry . Please god just don’t, stay away, don’t make a stupid post asking if you should, you should not . End rant

Saving seems pointless , but this mindset is also destroying me

A lot of people tend to spend their money immediately because we know if we don’t spend it, some random bullshit will ALWAYS find a way to take it, this is a bad mindset as it prevents saving? But it’s also very true in my experience. I got a retention bonus of $1000 this week, I wanted to get something I’ve wanted for a long time, after using some of it to check up on some bills , not even 2 hours later my wife drives over a nail and it’s unpatchable, needs a brand new tire, and I just got 4 new ones for this less then a month ago which killed me then.

Am I the only one who feels fucking cursed sometimes, no matter what I do, it’s rigged, savings never works, I can never beat life, it’s always on some bullshit like it’s rigged

Why does everyone on the internet make $250k a year in trades

But irl all is ever see misery , low pay, terrible life styles and danger. Why do people say go into the trades and make 80k to 250k easy, yet real life does not seem to reflect this even a little . I don’t get it

Imagine a world where this is normal

Okay you get a job at McDonald’s , pays $13/HR, but first you must bring your own fryer, and stove and all other equipment. You get paid per burger, if you’re very efficient, you can make A TON, however if it’s slow, you might make no money today.
Imagine telling this to someone , how insane does this sound to you? Yet that’s literally a mechanic job, the only difference is a fucking fryer and stove would be cheaper then tools

Why do we do this job?

You ever wake up at 6am, put on your pants, take a shower , eat , leave your house and drive to work , leave at 6pm 12 hours later and didn’t make a single dollar the whole day even when working because flat rate , because you either have no work or you are losing on a difficult job you never have done before?
All you Guys have, but explain this to anyone else and they will say it’s insanity . It makes no sense , we work and don’t get paid ? We show up to work and don’t get paid . Shit is so stupid , why the fuck are we doing this , how is this even legal

The worst part about the iPad dash

It’s SLOW, SLOW as fuck, it lags , hard to navigate , complicated , takes forever to switch to ac controls .
Moral of the story, if you have to go through a touch screen to do anything in a car, it needs to be fast . But the bean counters couldn’t allow that

The phones are 100% listening and possibly reading our mind and I’m tired of the gaslighting

Our phones 100% are reading all our text , accessing locations, probably accessing photo albums, and I’m borderline on believing they are reading our minds . And I’m so tired of people saying this is not the case, like bro, it happens everyday , I get ads for things I text people about, things I talk about on the phone or around my phone and sometimes things I think, just think, not even searching or talking about . It’s out of hand, I use twitter mostly and man it’s on the nose how aggressive it is. Today I went to a climbing gym , open x immediately video of people at a climbing gym and I never searched anything like that or showed interest , and this is with EVERYTHING, the algorithm is hyper aggressive

Why do parts guys get parts commission but the tech doesn’t?

They sit on their ass on their phone doing jackshit , yet they make money off my sale, while I put the part in after making the sale , and with these video MPI’s I basically close the deal a majority of the time anyway, the service advisor is mostly useless too .
We are getting shafted so hard it’s unreal , our shop rate is $260/hr, highest paid tech here is $45/hr flat rate

I mean my god, they are taking the piss, I do more warranty paperwork then actually working on cars, documentation, new rule, new TSB, didn’t run time? Didn’t get paid , oh you missed step 309 out of a 400 step process? You don’t get paid . Shop politics , bullshit comebacks , getting pulled off what you’re working on 100 times a day, having to help the lube techs from burning down the shop.
Brother, I’m stressed , all this shit just to barely make it.
You gotta be crazy to put up with this shit long term.
There is just too much going on, trying to be productive and efficient in the dealer will actually drive you mentally insane over time

I was seriously struggling 2 years ago, at the absolute bottom, no money, dead end job, eviction , homeless , no food. But things got a little better, making OK money, was able to start savings and get somewhere.

Right now my situation is I have to find a new place to live in the next 2 weeks but with this prior eviction , I’ve been rejected from multiple apartments , costing almost $1000 in application fees, I’ve tried everything you can imagine, I can pay any deposit , I can pay several months rent up front , but yet nobody cares, I’ve been kicked out of everywhere.

This is more of a rant then anything, some advice would be nice but the point is they don’t even want my money, I’ve been kicked out of the system for making a mistake even though I’m basically turned my life around, they hate poor people, bad credit is basically being the underclass, you are kicked out of public life. Grim.
