supplement lineup for teenage athlete (18M)

supplement lineup for teenage athlete (18M)

I’m an athlete trying to bulletproof my body for next season. My immune system isn’t the best but pretty average. I just want to maximise my performance and my recovery while feeling good, healthy and energized. Anything i should add/remove from this lineup? Regular Omega-3 fishoil capsules and protein powder (after workouts) are also included but didn’t fit in the picture.

I work out around 8-10 times a week (sometimes as much as 12) if that’s important as context.

buying a used zowie monitor?

Tried to find a budget option for FPS gaming and found a really good deal on an XL2540X+ (no dyac i know…). I see a lot of monitors on this sub with white lines, dead pixels, whiteout screens etc. How common are these issues? Am I at a risk for these issues when buying used? How do I check the monitor to avoid these problems?

purchasing advice for FPS gaming

I want to know if the monitor experts of the internet consider this crazy. I use my PC for R6, Kovaaks, apex legends and the occasional OW2 session. Right now I am gaming on a curved VA 27” 1080p monitor. Terrible compliance, ghosting everywhere, terrible PPI and terribly slow response time. I want to upgrade, but not spend a lot of money. I strictly play FPS games so I thought a used Zowie monitor would be a good choice. I found a deal on a used XL2540X+. Thats 280hz on their new ”fast” TN-panel (nothing non-oled is fast I know). This would give me a monitor thats very easy to transport (moving out soon) and more importantly it’s very budget. I presume this sub is very anti-zowie, but for 2000-2500 sek, is there really any better option? It’s clearly not a big enough budget for OLED, and I have no desire for IPS or VA color quality, I just want performance.

All advice is appreciated!

xl2546x+ vs xl2566x+

Do i really need to spend the extra cash for those 120 extra frames? I play r6, kovaaks, apex and some overwatch, out of those only two are uncapped for fps. apex is capped at 240 and r6 at 360, will i really benefit from 400 hz? does dyac work noticeably better with a high refresh rate?

how do i keep training

in the beginning i could easily spend a couple hours just grinding whatever kovaaks scen i thought was cool, now i genuinely quit the game within the first few minutes because i start tweaking at the first bad performance. how do i beat this "mental block"-plateau?

Oled vs zowie

Really over-discussed topic, I know, but this decision is extremely difficult for me. I can either spend a ton of money on a 360hz oled, or get a cheaper 400hz zowie used. I can also go even cheaper and get a 280hz zowie for almost nothing, but that would be the xl2540x+ (no dyac).

I am aware of all the OLED benefits but honestly other than colors and input delay i dont see it. I have never cared about how my game looks and dont think I’m going to start now, i basically only play fps (kovaaks, r6, apex, ow2) and have never once thought ”wow this dark corner isn’t black enough”…

With any of the zowie options on the other hand I would save money while still keeping most of the performance of the oled, without the fancy stuff thats exclusive for the panel type.

I’m not an aspiring pro or anything however I have a pretty high rank in the games I play and really only care about pure performance in my setup.

Any input? Anyone had a similar dilemma?

Basically I got really tired of my terrible curved va, 1080p 27” 240hz monitor and wanted a significant upgrade. I play fps games and am only looking for performance. I want to keep the price below 4000 sek, which was a difficult budget for me since it’s not quite oled range. It is however, within range for a 280hz zowie monitor (with dyac2) but I know how so many ”monitor experts” are extremely anti-zowie. My requirements are

•min 240hz

•max 27”

•res doesnt really matter just no 4k bs

•almost strictly for FPS gaming (dont enjoy story games, do school work on my laptop mostly)

What do you guys think? Is it worth to add a bit of money to the budget for a 240hz oled (wouldnt be a hz upgrade on paper even though it technically would if we factor in compliance)

edit: system specs 7800x3d, 5070, 32gb@6k

Complete beginner, landed on ordering from mok workshop and am now stuck between three different sets. Which one would be better for someone that just wants to get into the hobby, trying a bit of everything? Goodbye has the full sized picks, druid has an extra rake and bard is stacked with SIX hooks but only two TOK tension tools. Hard for me to pick, bard/druid would save me money on the set AND the shorter handles, but the goodbye set having long handles seems nice? Idk, completely new to this
