Bball Sim Update 2.3.2 - 🤖ANDROID(pending) and more updates and improvements!

Hey guys, we're FINALLY submitted to the Google Play Store! 🤖😁 Sorry for the delay on that, their process was such a mess compared to Apple...Not 100% sure when exactly it will get approved, but I will make a quick separate post when its live -- shouldn't be more than a few days (hopefully sooner).

As for IOS users, version 2.3.2 should be out later tonight! Web is up already...

There's some pretty large updates and improvements in this version as well...here's the full breakdown:

  • 30+ New Offensive Plays & polish on existing ones - Clear out Iso, Drive and Kick, Pin down catch and shoot, UCLA cut, Chicago action, Face up Post, Jab Step Pull Up and a bunch more...I also polished some existing plays that had some logic errors. Each offensive play set now has 5+ main plays.
  • Updated Offensive Scheme Cards - Check out each offensive scheme's full play set on the newly enriched scheme cards (on coach tab) that show the full animation of the play.
  • Added Analytics - You can now invest in your analytics facility and hire an analyst. 3 star analysts allow the FULL postgame analytics (by play)...4 star shows postgame analytics as well as your opponent's FULL SEASON analytics on the pregame page.
  • Intelligent Matchup Modifiers - offensive reads now include intelligent defensive matchup modifiers based on defending player attributes/badges.
  • Defensive Player of the Year Award Added - DPOY is now awarded after each season.
  • Scout Points Now Spendable During Live Drafts - I added the ability to scout rookies directly inside the live draft (from popup modal header).
  • More 'Diamonds in the Rough' - Rookie classes now sometimes contain various 'Jokic' level talents buried deep in the 2nd round with low overalls but super high potentials...thanks to u/CardiologistFuzzy240 ✌🏻for those two ideas.
  • Brand New Headshot Editor Assets -
    • Players: (hair) - long cornrows, bald. (mouth)- grill-smile-straight, smirk. (eyes) - intense.
    • Coaches/Staff: (neck) - crewneck, tie, turtleneck, wrinkled. (brows) - angry. (stubble) - full, goatee. (face) - stout, tall.
  • a bunch of other random bugs

Bball Sim Update 2.3.1 - Live Draft UI Overhaul & more!

Update 2.3.1 is officially submitted for approval from Apple, and should be available in about a day. Here's the breakdown of updates and changes in this version:

  • Full Live Draft page UI overhaul - Polish from top to bottom. I added a commentary blurb for each pick after its made in rookie drafts, selecting a phrase intelligently based on the overall direction of the team along with their owner's expectations. New 'ticker' element shows the last 3 picks more cleanly. Fantasy drafts now show the current salary cap you've accrued and prevent you from going over a certain salary cap threshold.
  • Dynamic Owner Expectations & Logic- Owners now shift their expectations dynamically mid season. Having a surprising start to the season? The owner may want you to go for the playoffs rather than going through the rebuild. Also added logic to prevent injury-hit seasons from costing you your job, and for deep playoff runs - (a title fully satisfies the wins bar, etc). Additionally GM contracts are now 4 years instead of 2.
  • All Star Selections Tracking - The history tab on the player details popup modal now displays any All Star Selections the player has had in their career.
  • Sign in/up with Apple and Google - If you already have an account, you can link your accounts through the profile page
  • Optimization and Loading Improvements - Stability improvements and loading adjustments for smoother performance, especially on slower connections.
  • A bunch of other random bugs

🏀⛹🏻‍♂️ Bball Sim - Dynasty Basketball on iOS and Web

Hey guys!

I've been building out my own basketball gm manager game since the beginning of the year (with assistance from claude) and I just released it a few weeks ago....Its a free to play web based game also available on iOS -- with full cloud sync between devices.

Its more of a '2k-lite' type of basketball simulation game, with deep customization...participate in live drafts, build and manage your team/staff/facilities, scout players, train players and upgrade badges, make trades, and all the other general manager stuff...sim quick and play casual or watch the live play by play animations, managing your lineup in game.

Its really a passion project and something I've wanted to make since I was back in school 😁 but definitely a work in progress...

Just wrapping up with the latest update i've been working on (2.3)...it's already submitted to Apple and should be approved by tomorrow morning. Here's a breakdown of everything new:

  • Gm Level Progression and Owners - Every team now has an owner with different expectations and motivations. Now you have to sign a gm contract every few years and meet certain goals in order to get your contract renewed. Meet or exceed expectations to earn contract renewals in order to up your gm level, or else prepare to be directing poverty franchises like Sacramento and Washington your entire gm career 😂...GM Level progression is global for all campaigns.
  • Ai Trade System Overhaul - Ai teams now value their first round draft picks much more realistically - considering upcoming draft strength and their current team direction/outlook in their evaluation. Ai teams make 'big swing' trades more often in coordination with their team direction -- rebuilding teams offloading stars to competing teams for pick hauls, etc. User-to-AI trading is open during the offseason (locked during the live draft for now).
  • Coaches Restructure & Lifecycle- Coaches are now a persistent global pool inside campaigns - available to be hired again after their initial job. Ai teams now make structured decisions each offseason whether to retain or fire their coach. Coaches also retire now at the end of their careers. Keep an eye out for news events when Ai teams fire their coach. Reworked coaching skills and scheme effectiveness so coach fit affects results. Also added a UI element of the coaches tab to track the various coach actions.
  • Added Career High, Campaign High and Season High Stat Tracking - You can now view a player's career high stats from their player details popup modal. A new tab on the League page shows the All Time stats record holders, the current season's stat record holders, along with the previous champions and mvp winners.
  • Improved Contract Signing Logic - Players demand to be paid what they're actually worth on the open market. When considering whether to re sign with you, players will consider what they could earn in the open market if they were to enter free agency.
  • Lots of other bug fixes/ui improvements...

👋 [dev] Welcome to r/Bball_Sim and other stuff

Welcome in to r/Bball_Sim**!**

Im making this sub so that I can keep anyone interested in my continued updates and progress with Bball Sim -- Basketball Franchise Simulator...as well as to log bug reports, comments/concerns etc...whatever as long as its constructive lol.

I've loved sports sims all my life, and i've wanted to build my own since I was in school. My main inspirations are 2k dynasty mode, campus dynasty, hardwood empire, retro bowl and of course Basketball Gm. It has been so cool to be able to (nearly) fully focus on this project for the last few months and bring it to life!

Anyways, a few quick bullet points to get out of the way first and foremost:

  • I use claude code in my workflow -- yup, web dev by trade -- Bball Sim is built with the web dev stack I know and love though, and every line is audited before it goes in my codebase, and allowing claude to handle the lion-share of the coding enables me to fully design each aspect of the logic systems, gameplay and UI to rapidly iterate across multiple versions and the deliver the best possible results. Believe me when I say that I map out ALL the gameplay logic, weights, structure, UI, etc....its very much a labor of love.
  • At the end of the day, i'm building this because its what I want to build. Yes, there is a currency structure, but I'm really trying to find the right balance so that there isn't a 'nickel and diming' type feeling. If you want to support, great, if not, skillful tactics will net you sufficient currency anyway.
  • Expect multiple updates monthly with new content and gameplay options, along with improved systems and assets

I’m going for more of a 2k franchise mode lite feel for my basketball simulator…participate in live drafts, build and manage your team/staff/facilities, scout players, train and upgrade badges, make trades, and all the other general manager stuff…sim quick and play casual or watch the play by play live animations. I just added the headshot customization upgrade update along with a live team momentum feature and a host of other improvements …and I’m planning on continued updates for the foreseeable future. There’s no ads and It’s free to play… cloud synced across devices.
This is my first attempt at any kind of game, I’m a web developer by trade so I’d really appreciate any feedback!
