Rhodie 6 vs. Rhodie 6K: Noticeable sound difference?
Hey everyone,
Looking to pick up a Rhodie and I'm torn between the Rhodie 6 and 6K.
The specs on the 6K are definitely appealing—it's lighter, cuts down on the overall length, and saves a bit of cash—but I'm trying to figure out if the performance trade-off is worth it. Specifically, is there a highly noticeable difference to the ear between the two?
For context, the two main platforms they'll be living on are 10.5” 5.56 and 16” 6mm ARC (both with AGB).
I know the short barrel 5.56 is going to be loud regardless, but I’m curious if the standard 6 manages the blast significantly better than the K can, or if the K punches above its weight enough to justify the handier size.
If anyone has trigger time behind both of these, I'd love to hear your thoughts on sound signature, blowback/backpressure differences, and which way you'd go for these specific hosts.
