I work in a nice restaurant as a dishwasher. I started on march 17.

The pay periods run twice monthly, not every 2 weeks so for my first paycheque, I was told I would get paid for both pay periods on my second pay period because I came in the middle of the first pay period. I expect that I would get paid around April 15 which I was fine with. Now we’re around may 1 and I have not got paid a dime. I email the manager and talk to my bosses and they tell me that there was a problem with how they inputted or read my void cheque and that I would get my full pay for the last month and a bit and that it was some error with the clock- in system we use I should get paid in full last monday. Monday comes and I get paid, but only 35 dollars compared to the 2000$ I should have been paid. I message my bosses again and they tell me it’s my tips for the last month and a half ish and that I should get my full paycheque Friday that just passed. Well I bet you can see where this is going, Friday comes and I got paid, but only 50$. I sent out emails again and have gotten no response in the past 3 days. Now I’m not even scheduled for any shifts this week and I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to show up unannounced because I do like this job and the people, but I can’t help but feel I’m getting completely fucked over.

I literally have been pinching Pennies these last months and I won’t be able to buy tickets to the one concert I wanted to see this summer, go to movies with friends, or even eat out. I literally have a net loss from this job as I have to pay 3$ in transit twice a day when I have work. I’m a teenager and I live with my parents, I have to borrow money from my parents (they don’t mind and won’t even ask me to pay it back) just to get to work. I seriously don’t know what to do. I also had to pay for my uniform and dishwasher shoes so so far I’m literally down around 300$. I don’t want to quit but this isn’t even a job I’m just being taken advantage of.

Good luck to everybody if it is tomorrow. I really hope I get in to queens commerce, good luck to all applicants. This isn’t the end of the road but the beginning whether we get accepted or rejected.

I feel like I was competitive for every program I applied to and still have not got in to any of my targets or have been rejected. I got mid 90s, thought I did very well on my supp apps, and had pretty good ecs imo and still probably won’t get in to any business schools at this point. What even separates us (or just me I guess) from people who had similar stats or lower stats as well as less confident in their supplementals. (A friend of mine got qcomm and is still waiting for Ivey with a 89 average and thought his supplemental went really badly for qcomm. I won’t say too much but he pretty much started answering the question, but ended up backtracking halfway through and started talking about a completely different topic)

I’ve already been rejected from Ivey and sauder. I haven’t heard anything from McGill Desautels or queens commerce and I doubt I’ll get either as most queens offers are out. Qcomm was my top choice and my dream school but I’m not going to be able to go if I don’t get commerce and I likely wouldn’t be able to transfer into commerce if I went for economics or math so that doors closed. I’m very sad to be honest. My only chance to get a business degree at this point is to get in to Ivey for third year which might be even harder than AEO. Anybody else feel this way?

We know appa can pretty much navigate anywhere in the world that he’s familiar with/ has been to. He even found the sand library in the middle of a giant desert after escaping from the circus.

When he was being captured by the sand benders he should have just flew in the sky and stayed nearby or even flew away if he wanted to for a couple hours until aang and the others came back. It’s not like they would have bothered attacking Toff. We know he’s very smart too, way smarter than most animals on earth, it seems like he can more or less understand what people are saying even in complex conversations so this should not have been a concept beyond him. Just a thought.

Specifically, the armpit smell that you get if you don’t wear deodorant. I’ve never found it to be a bad smell and honestly can smell nice. It’s just a salty smell. It only smells bad because of the connotations of poor hygiene and because of the pure intensity in certain locations such as change rooms. If the smell of vanilla was emitted from people’s armpits at the same volume as B.O I would also plug my nose or find it gross but in moderation it isn’t bad.

I still wear deodorant because of social expectations and think of people a bit weirdly when they don’t but I definitely don’t think of it as a bad smell.

Edit: people seriously have some literacy problems because half of the comments I pretty much answered in my original post:

I wear deodorant and shower 2/3 times a day depending on if I have sports or not.

I am Chinese and make nearly no BO smell unless I let my sweat or clothes sit for more than a day and I still apply deodorant multiple times a day. no I do not smell bad.

Also no this is not fetish content I never once said I was attracted to the smell and I’m not. There’s lots of smells I don’t mind/might even like such as gasoline or sharpie

Never once did I say that other people should be fine with the way I smell so idk why people keep saying I must smell bad or that they don’t think BO smells nice because that’s the whole point of this post.

A little over a month ago, Roger’s stadium had a job fair at TMU. I applied thinking it was Roger’s centre (ik my bad). Today’s my first day of training and I see it’s in North York. From where I live, it will take me over an hour to commute one way even with transit and it’s not even very busy traffic at this moment when coming home might take over 2 hours. There’s no staff parking at least not for low level employees and I assume I’ll leave at the same time if not later than most concert attendees. When I went to the oasis concert, there was a 2 hour difference from leaving the location to getting home and I live right by a subway station.

Does anybody that work there currently or in the past think it’s worth it to make the commute? Unless I’m making crazy money in tips (barback position) I really can’t see this being an actual viable position just because of how much time I have to allot each day.
