What is the order you would introduce the basic rules to a group of new players?

I was laying out a structure in my head for a series of one or two session adventures to get a new group basically up to speed in Traveller. How would you lay out a gentle learning curve for a small number of sessions to get a new group comfortable without overwhelming them?

Something odd just occurred but regardless, for the moment I find the subreddit is under staffed for basic cleanup and spam reduction.

If anyone is interested, I'd be appreciative for any volunteers, especially those whom already report posts with issues.

Also, if anyone has noticed any odd behavior in the sub over the last several hours, please message me directly. I am trying to determine a few things that have happened and if there are problems.

Honest questions for any that care to chime in. Is clipping actually a huge concern for podcasters? Is there a derth of tools to automate this clipping and it must be addressed? Are clips really on the average podcasters mind? Help me understand.

I have zero knowledge of InstaTok or TwichyGram. I haven't had a Twitter or Facebook account in five years or more.

So, yeah: old man shouting at clouds. It was the fashion back in the day.

I suspect my complete lack of interest in thaese things defines my blind spot. Another thing that defines my blind spot is the rage I feel when yet another AI clipping tool or thinly veiled bait post for clipping passes through the mod queue.

Honestly, one day I will run out of coffee when a bunch of these come in and by the time I recover from caffein withdrawal I will have implemented keyword bans on all mentions of clip, AI, apple pie and my brother. Not necessarily in that order.

Please explain this to me so I have a reason not to go completely zoo monkey discovering ranged attacks.

Or ... are these things completely being understood in the correct, rage inducing, ways?

FYI, new posting restrictions when into effect on the subreddit. All posts required to be text posts being the most significant change but not the only one. Restrictions based on account age and/or subreddit karma is under considderation but not implemented at this time.

In the meantime, I appreciate all the reports of content that does not belong in the subreddit and that is unreleated to Logic Pro as a topic. Please continue to report such content and also any attempts to illegally sell or distribute software.

Also please report AI Spam or spam for AI tools. While I leave it to the creator to determine their personal stance on the use of AI, the developers of AI tools and applications truely don't seem to care as a class on the damage they do to communities in attempts to shill their services.

The developer of the FG Central Supply Catalogue 2023 announced he just submitted the changed rules from last weeks Mongoose update. It should get pushed out to owners of the FG CSC Update 2023 in a few days.

EDIT: Also the new High Guard Update errata since the Vehicle Handbook Update is submitted and will be pushed to players soon.

I was looking through my FFE Classic Traveller CD and was wondering which set of core rules for Classic should I use? I immediately look at the later printing of the LBBs but there is also the Traveller Book and the Starter Edition. Or even the Facsimile Edition.

I'm sure most differences are small and I can hand wave away inconsistencies if needed. What I'm asking is what to standardize on so players new to a 2d6 system can ask a question and be told it's on page 51 of this PDF. Preferably with errata slipstreamed into the PDF and not a separate sheet.

I see five options:

• Original Little Black Books Copyright 1977

• Little Black Books Copyright 1981

• The Traveller Book Copyright 1982

• Starter Edition Copyright 1983

• Facsimile Edition Copyright 2001

The Facsimile Edition is essentially the LLBs from 1981 with errata mostly slipstreamed inline to the text. A bit in the back of the book. Free on DrieThru but not the best PDF to read and definitely not to search.

The Starter Edition is the latest release from the time but it's rarely mentioned. Not sure the errata situation.

The Traveller Book is all in one PDF, physical hardback still available.

The LBBs have the charm of being THE original version.

From a new player, guess what we are doing this week, point of view, which would you roll with?

Sort of hoping Matt and Marc will roll out a fiftieth anniversary edition for Classic in 2027 and show Hasbro how it's done.
