Hans or Hybrid for track days?

Hans or Hybrid for track days?

I'm the recent owner of a track ready E46. No airbags, 5 point seatbelt. (If im correct, two straps from behind two from the sides near my hips and one between my legs)

I have a proper helmet that can support a HANS device but no HANS device yet, ran the first few track days without but ready the horror stories I would rather buy one sooner than later.

I dont mind spending a bit of money as in buy once cry once. What is the easiest system to put on / take-off and in most convenient?

Saw these two options: (Or should I look for something else)

You can't park there sir...

Parked at lap 3. Stayed till the second to last lap. Was interesting how the whole field adapted to having a new chicane.

When you crash your car do you A: Park it in the grass B: Just slam the brakes on the racing line fan leave it there who cares your race is ruined

Is this even worth a protest.

Shorts editor

Hi I’m looking for a shorts editor with PROVEN TRACK RECORD. Will supply a 12 minute video and looking for 3-4 cut downs. Content is car / racing / vlog related style.

Editor must have a proven portfolio of shorts with good retention and hooks.

I took my e46 to Zandvoort and shot a mini doc!

Super hyped for my next track day and I love how this car sounds. I def need to get a mic setup next to the exhaust next time.

Nothing compared to others here but getting 40 likes and 11 comment by sharing my passion feels huge!

It’s only the first 18 hours on a new channel but getting so many positive comments feels amazing! Doing a IRL “vlog-docu” was a big step but glad I’ve done it.

Any tips on what to do next just leave it or do you adjust thumbnail / title?

F-it: after 2 years of dreaming I bought my own track car and did my first laps at Zandvoort. How much of your sim time actually transferred?

In 2 years I got up to 3000ir in Pcup and felt very comfortable in iRacing. Beginning of the year I decided to rent a race car during a track day to get a bit closer to real racing and see if I liked it. What surprised me was how much easier driving is in IRL. Yes a mistake will cost you a lot but being able to feel all the g-forces and being able to look around made it so much easier compared to iRacing. And I was extremely surprised how good Zandvoort looks in iRacing comparing it to the real track it's almost 1 to 1 the same even the advertising banners.

Would love feedback on the edit and the pacing, is it too slow or too fast? Also curious how much of your sim time actually transferred when you first went out for real, because some of mine did and some really didn't.

Tried some new *bonus* camera angles

Apart from the usual Gopro angle's I wanted to try something different to cut with. I'll be documenting my whole racing journey so might as well to try and make it looks interesting while i'm still slow hehe. What do you think?

Still needs some work had a blast at my first Zandvoort day!

Only rented a Honda Civic for a few session and immediately brought this e46. Had my first track day last week and it was a blast so much fun!

I gave the BMW M2 the one thing it was missing: distractions

Everyone is reviewing the new BMW M2 and I somehow got distracted and ended up making the touchscreen fully functional instead. Which took waaay to long.

Then I had a thought: if modern cars are moving everything to touchscreens, surely it must be a good idea to use one while racing, right?

Turns out trying to find the Bluetooth menu into Turn 1 is not ideal.

Anyway this started as a stupid joke project but now I genuinely think we should have a touchscreen race league. Everyone gets a list of random missions before the race and has to complete them before the finish.

Should iRacing add this in the next week 13?

Advice on first track car?

Looking at buying my first dedicated track car soon and can't decide between an E36 , E46 328/330, Subaru BRZ, or Toyota GT86.

Main goal is track days and eventually some racing, with the occasional drift session for fun. I'm mainly looking for the best bang for buck platform and I'm happy to do pretty much all the work myself. (Easy to work on car with lots of documentation is a ++)

The BRZ/GT86 really appeals to me because of the chassis, but I've got a bit of Subaru trauma after owning a Hawkeye WRX 2.5 that blew up within 2 weeks of buying it. Pulling that engine was an absolute nightmare and kind of put me off Subaru-powered cars. (Head gaskets yay)

The E36 and E46 seem hard to ignore because they're cheap, parts are everywhere, and they seem to be proven track and drift platforms. The E46 330i especially looks like a lot of car for the money. I wont start from scratch I'll buy something that someone else already build / proven reliable car. No Miata's unfortunately cause I don't really fit in the car with helmet. (Tall guy)

For those who have owned or tracked these cars, what would you choose today as a first track car? Which platform gives the most seat time per dollar and is easiest to keep running without constantly throwing money at it?

Budget isn't huge but also not nothing, so reliability and running costs matter more than outright speed.

I owned a Evolution 7 (not track fit) for a while that thing was great never ever had issue but the prices on those have shot through the roof.

Where did the 13th week track day go?

Was the only thing I was excited for in week 13.

Slow chill game that can turn into a disaster in seconds with coop.

I love to play games like Minecraft / Project Zomboid with my gf. The aspect that we like is that you can mine / build your base / gather stuff super chill for hours but there is this constant fears that if you become too comfortable you can lose all your (characters) progression in seconds. If you fall down a hole / zombie grabs you etc.

The forest wasn’t for us to intense all the time. And no hardcore games. With the two games mentioned there is always a chance to recover your stuff even tho if you really messed it up it will be gone forever.
