This console is going to break so many kids hearts.

250€ for my PS4 was a big Christmas present. Probably the biggest I ever got.

500€ for my PS5 was half-financed by me, the other was a gift. (when I was way older) I already saw plenty people just not be able to afford it.

1000+€?????? Never in my entire childhood would I have gotten this thing. Ever. Not even close. I know I'm not the only one.

Kids don't understand money. They'll see a new console and want it. That's normal and fine but unless the family is wealthy they'll just not get it.

You might be able to buy 3 Switch 2's for the same price next year.

For the PS4, I went home with good grades and asked for it.

For the PS6, no amount of A+'s would've gotten me this one.

Also we can assume that the price will only rise over the years instead of drop. So waiting until it's half-off is not a good strat right?

So... probably no Astrobot 2 right?

Look, the next PS will be 1.2-1.5k. Maybe more.

Kids will not get this console for christmas. It's a family-game I know, but still.

A console that will be 95% owned by adults exclusively is unlikely to get any huge child-focused games right?

I'm sorry, but what upgrades ARE you expecting? Especially for 1000€-1500€ they have to be pretty major right?

I recently saw a list of pretty clear features to expect in the next console generation.

The comments were full of people saying they were "unrealistic" but none of them mentioned what to actually expect?

Most comments just mentioned stuff the PS5 already does. (60fps is no longer a selling point sorry)

Here's what I think the PS6 might look like if it truly comes at a luxury-pricepoint.

-Free Pro-Controller or two base controllers as a deal sweetener.

-120fps base performance for most games.

-60fps Quality modes.

-Significantly improved Ray-Tracing Rendering.

-1TB of storage at the absolute bare minimum. 2TB-4TB versions likely. (GTA6 might be 300gb so we are officially past 512gb consoles imo)

-If RAM prices truly double from now then maybe as an ultimate deal-maker they could do a couple hundred bucks as store credit? Sony's way of saying "Sorry for charging you 1,500€ for a console that should be 800€. Here's 300€ back." Unrealistic but would make the purchase hurt less.

Releasing GTA6 at 30fps is like exclusively releasing the Avatar movies on VHS.

30fps is outdated. It just is.

"But I'm fine with it"

That's great! Most people aren't.

GTA's main marketing is graphics and details. I'm sure the story will be good at the very least. I'm sure the gameplay will be fun.

The Nr.1 thing people are excited for with this game are the visuals. That is an objective fact. Look at any discussion around the game. 95% of posts are about visuals.

Having the greatest graphics in video game history is completely irrelevant if the game is gonna feel choppy 24/7.

The unfortunate truth with 60fps is, that once you've felt, you'll feel the lack 10x harder.

I recently wanted to replay Destiny 1 on PS5 and had to quit after 10 minutes cuz the gameplay felt awful.

On my recent RDR2 replay attempt, the game actually felt quite good until I got on a horse.

The second I started riding, I could REALLY feel the 30fps cap. It was choppy. Badly.

This is going to be 10x worse when driving a car.

Another issue is that even if you do get used to 30fps, the SECOND you play a 60fps game again for just a few minutes, 30 feels bad again.

This means you can't play ANYTHING else as long as you play GTA6 cuz you will be actively making the game worse for yourself.

When playing at 30fps you need to trick your brain into thinking it looks smooth, which is easy when every game runs at 30. On PS5, this is nearly impossible.

I hope the next console generation is not 1000€+ JUST because of RAM.

Look, I'm fortunate enough that I might be able to afford a PS6/XBX (I'd still wait for black friday for at least a small discount).

However this is ONLY the case if this thing is treated like a complete and utter luxury product.

1000€ is no longer a console. That is a price so high, my entire friendgroup laughed when I mentioned the next gen might cost over 1000€. Now, with the articles coming out, it's more or less confirmed.

Kids will no longer get this at christmas unless the family is absurdly wealthy.

I remember how I had to beg to get a 250€ PS4 during a christmas sale.

People that got the PS5/XBX in the first year, might skip the first few years.

If I buy a 1000€+ console, my expectations are gonna be sky-high.

\-120fps on every major release. (some games are exceptions since they aren't made to be played over 30-60fps)

\-1TB on the base model. Games aren't getting smaller.

\-No more paid online.

\-Complete backwards compatability.

\-Free upgrades(at least first party)

\-No more Quality/Performance mode shenanigans.

\-A significant increase in big first party releases.

At the end of the day. If this thing truly costs 1000€ (or more) it is twice (or more) as expensive as the PS5/XBX, so I expect a product that is at least twice as good at everything.

As a lore nerd, this update was torture. As a fan, it was great.

When I heard that the final update will include new lore and some character "endings", I assumed some smaller question would be answered and a bunch of characters simply doing cheesy "See you later, Guardian" type lines.

Boy was I wrong.

The lore drops are absolutely massive, honestly bigger then anything we got in Rengades to a point and the character goodbyes were not goodbyes at all.

9/10 characters you talk to basically just say "See you in the next expansion(s) that I will now head to!"

Almost all the new lore is also just directly mentioning new stuff.

Why???

I doubt it's for D3 buildup.

As many people have said if D3 happens, there will need to be some sort of soft/hard Reboot.

The marketing for D3 cannot be "The continuation of fan-favourite Edge of Fate and Renegades!!"

This entire update feels like it was supposed to release post-D3 confirmation.

Because we sadly live in an unjust world we do not yet know when or if it is coming at all, it also gives this whole update a really weird vibe.

A universe and characters that don't yet know they are dead.

Alternatively a universe that will live again yet with noone knowing how or when.

Maybe a hottake: I honestly think any dialogue and lore mentioning future content and stories should not have been included. Maybe added post-D3 confirmation as a final final update.

I hate how misleading the marketing around the new Destiny 2 collection is.

In no way, shape or form is the new collection the "definitive" experience. It might be the best way to play but it's certainly not great.

If you don't play D2, I NEED you to understand that this collection does not feature a full story. It features a fragmented, messy experience for new players with no obvious start.

You will be bombarded with content, with no real way of knowing of what is "worth" doing.

There are massive amounts of content between the individual expansions missing that were truly vital to have a full understanding of the story.

The fact this is marketed for new players is truly frustrating.

[COPE] It is interesting that apperently they will end on a bunch of future story hooks.

It has been confirmed that the final update will include new story content which includes "leaving characters in interesting places".

Why would you do that if there were absolutely no chances of picking those characters back up (at some point)

TacSim is NOT just going to be generic challenges.

They would not sell cosmetics exclusively for a mode that was just:

-shoot/takedown 10 enemies and get a HIGH SCORE!!

That's way to generic for what appears to be a major part of the game as well as the confirmed post-launch content.

I believe TacSim will look like this:

-Generic Gameplay challenges for a quick hit. (30-40%)

-Sandbox-Section-Replay (and maybe linear action sequence replay?) with additional challenges (40-50%)

-New Missions on existing maps/new maps(probably not at launch) (10-30%)

Guys, am I going insane? A 20 hour campaign is literally longer than the entire WOA trilogy, no?

They just announced that just the base campaign will be roughly 20 hours. That is not including any sandbox challenges/kills. Just the campaign.

I've replayed the WOA trilogy at least a dozen times and I genuinely don't think it ever took over an hour to beat a level. I can consistently beat each game in 5-6 hours without any speedrun strats whatsoever.

Even on a first playthrough these levels never took me more then an hour to beat.

Obviously the appeal of Hitman is in replaying the levels but that appeal is also in 007.

Remember this game will have the same progression that Hitman has. (A destination and a whole bunch of challenges in that destination)

The campaign of the entire WOA (without DLC) is about 15-18 hours which is three whole games.

The campaign of this ONE game is 20 hours plus at least 100+ hours of sandbox content.

I really don't understand why anyone could possibly be upset unless they didn't play Hitman.

This game is not Hitman 4. The previews make that very clear.

You can't hide bodies. There doesn't seem to be any "real" sandbox replays of full levels, just Tacsim which appears to be mostly combat/stealth-challenges set in each level.

I do assume there will be "some" sandbox in the game, just not as much as people expect.

In general I see tons of posts on here and Twitter trying to cope (including older posts of mine) trying to find as much Hitman as possible in this game, when in truth the game seems to be mostly linear with some smaller open-ish sections and even these open sections seem to have huge action focus at times.

Most gameplay we've been shown has been run and gun, as well as CQC combat, little to no "Hitman" style gameplay besides infiltrating the chess tournament.

I will admit, when the game was announced I too assumed we'd get Hitman with Spy-Gadgets but the more we see, the more it's obvious that's not the case.

At all.

It doesn't help that Youtubers with Preview access talk about the Hitman aspects while only showing Bond gunning down a small army. I'm aware they weren't allowed to record their own gameplay but still, some more stealth would've been nice to see, since again the focus was clearly on the loud aspects of the game.

To be clear I am excited for this game and have pre-ordered. However my expectations have shifted heavily after seeing the previews.

Edit: the reason I made this post is because I just saw a post with 100k+ likes on Twitter of someone excited about the game because of "huge open levels" with Bond gameplay, which I feel is setting people up for dissapointment.

Lets say you want to play the chess tournament-map to 100% challenge completion. We don't know how many challenges a map will have yet, but we can assume a few dozen are safe.

Will we have to do the plane section each time, or is that a seperate mission?

Obviously this goes for all action-sequences in the game.
