Broken Toe
I recently posted some brief details regarding circulation issues, amongst many other symptoms, and after an ABI and CTA it looks more like small vessels issues (perfusion vs circulation I think?) as opposed to arterial. Which can be seen with SFN/dysautonomia—that for some reason no one will test for. Not salty or anything.
I broke my pinky toe 2 weeks ago while LIMPING (because I was only taking a few steps and having a good week so I didn’t want my cane or walker), and I walked into a dog bed leg. That’s right, a puny hollow small dog bed leg. At the speed of perhaps a grasshopper walking. I can’t help but think the issues above contributed to my bones being made of glass apparently.
And I am crazy upset because in the two weeks preceding this I was starting to be able to walk about 10’ at a time without any shoes or walking aides, pain free. More like a waddle but beggars and all that. This was a huge improvement for me as it’s been almost two years where I feel like I’m walking on my feet bones and my tendons are being eviscerated with each step. Soon after breaking my toe, I assume from walking funky to get to my wheelchair, it now feels like much healing in my calf and foot tendons on that leg has been undone. It once again feels like the tendons are tearing apart and away from my bones, especially in my arch. (I don’t know what’s actually happening.)
And to add insult to injury, there is a massive amount of nerve pain and tingling coming from the break, my other toes on that foot which had not been really affected by long term arthritis issues now will not bend and also ache. I’ve broken my nose twice and a finger before (from real trauma), I don’t remember residual nerve pain but those weren’t *complete breaks*.
It seems this break is aggravating existing symptoms and bringing back some I haven’t had in a year. **Curious if anyone else with nerve related symptoms sustained any injury in that area that affected them similar?**
Also treatment for my toe is “less weight bearing activity,” and letting it live freely in its skin bag. But it’s literally jutting out away from my others toes 🙃
Thanks for letting me vent.
