What are your top three non-negotiables when it comes to HENRY finance?

Curious to hear from others in the same boat. What would you say are your top three non-negotiables when it comes to managing your finances?

Anything from budgeting, investing, or spending is fair game, but there may be other areas I’m not thinking of that are relevant to the conversation.

Millennials with kids, do you intend to provide for them financially when they reach adulthood?

I was curious to hear opinions on this from other parents that are my age group.

While there are certainly exceptions, it seems like the a lot of my peers did not receive financial support once they turned 18. That meant taking out student loans to cover college or sometimes being kicked out of the house altogether and heading straight into the military or workforce. In addition, many of my friends are uncertain whether or not they will receive an inheritance from their parents when the time comes (besides tchotchkes).

There definitely seems to be a bootstraps mentality theme with a lot of my friend's which has put them in positions where they have less than their parents did at the same age.

For millennials who have children, are you planning to support them financially when they reach adulthood? For example, helping to pay for college, letting them stay at home longer, or saving so they have a down-payment on a house?

Turning 40, feeling blah, and looking for gift ideas

I am a 40F and my very kind husband wants to get me something special for my 40th. I am looking for feedback from other women or men around this age group on what was or will be on your 40th wish list (or your spouses)?

I am not usually big on gifts and tough to shop for because admittedly when there is something I want, I simply buy it. I am also picky and keep a minimalist wardrobe which I constantly clean out and rearrange.

I am into clothes, fashion, handbags and jewelry. I am open to different brands and tend to gravitate towards quality timeless pieces I can carry forward. Some of my favorite finds have been Indie designers or vintage pieces, but I also have invested in Prada, Gucci and Louis Vutton pieces. My everyday wear are things from Calvin Klein, Nordstrom, 529 American, Mango, Mother, Cole Haans, Sam Edelman, Frye, Boden, etc. For jewelery I like both silver and gold, but I do not have pierced ears. I tend to pick semi and precious colored stones over diamonds. Or even pieces with turquoise, quartz or moonstone.

I am not interested in Hermes and my sad flat feet cannot squeeze into Louboutins. I do not want spa days, skincare or botox.

Annie's was not just my go-to mac and cheese but also my go-to comfort food. I would say within the past year, I started noticing it tasted kind of funny? Bland? I tried adding enhancements to it like parmesan cheese, but it still wasn't tasting how I remembered it. I tried again today and am finally giving up. There is absolutely something different in the flavor packet that completely changed the product.

Curious if others have noticed this and have a suitable alternative they can suggest? Never thought I would be a little heart broken about Mac and cheese, but here we are!
