Setton AS3300 and JVC turntable with Shure V15 type III cartridge

I recently returned to an old family house and found a Setton AS 3300 amplifier and a JVC turntable with a Shure V15 type III cartridge, or at least a model from the same series. I'm honestly not very expert. I like to see the specifications and reviews and learn as much as possible, but what I know is quite limited, so could someone tell me more about this amplifier and turntable? Both haven't been turned on for about 3 years, but I don't want the capacitors to swell, leak, or anything else due to the voltage, given that the plug has been unplugged since then. Furthermore, the amplifier is left exposed to dust, so both the outside and inside would need to be cleaned. I could also get my hands on it, but I don't want to break anything. If anyone could give me any advice, specifications, or opinions, I would appreciate it.

Tech Enthusiast Dilemma: Galaxy S25 vs. iPhone 16 (Hardware Prowess vs. UX Infatuation)

Hi everyone,

I’m facing a major decision paralysis and need some tech-minded opinions to break the tie. I’m currently using a Pixel 8, but I’m ready to move on because Google’s ecosystem just feels lacking compared to Apple and Samsung.

As someone with an IT/informatics background, I’m deeply torn between two very different philosophies, especially at current pricing:

The Contenders & Pricing (Europe)

Samsung Galaxy S25 (~€496): Snapdragon 8 Elite (3nm), 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, 120Hz LTPO display, UFS 4.0, a dedicated 3x optical telephoto lens, and USB-C 3.2 with Samsung DeX.

Apple iPhone 16 (~€560): A18 (3nm), 8GB LPDDR5X RAM, 60Hz LTPS display, dual-camera (sensor crop for 2x), and legacy USB 2.0 speeds.

The Dilemma: Pure Specs vs. Psychological UX

From a purely logical, hardware-per-dollar standpoint, the Galaxy S25 is a landslide winner. It doubles the RAM, has a vastly superior 120Hz display, faster storage/USB speeds, and actual desktop-class flexibility (DeX). Plus, Android's open file system appeals heavily to my inner nerd.

On the other hand, there is a strong societal push toward Apple, and I struggle with the "status symbol" aspect of the iPhone. I don't want to buy Apple just because everyone has one.

BUT... I am absolutely infatuated with the Dynamic Island.

I've never owned an iPhone with it, but from a software engineering perspective, I find it brilliant. Turning an ugly hardware limitation into a fluid, interactive UI element (Live Activities, timers, media controls) feels incredibly satisfying. I know apps like dynamicSpot exist on Android, but native optimization usually hits different.

The Question

Should an IT expert override pure hardware logic (120Hz, 12GB RAM, open system) just because of a brilliant piece of UX design (Dynamic Island) and ecosystem cohesion? Or will I regret buying a 60Hz phone with 8GB RAM for more money in 2026?

Would love to hear your thoughts, especially from anyone who made the switch either way!
