NCLEX PREP

NCLEX preparing

I scheduled my NCLEX next month July 8 and I am a little nervous about it. I’ve been studying using Archer using the 6 week study calendar watching the videos, taking notes, daily q banks, doing readiness assessments, and cat exams. I am also going to listen to the mark k lecture using the notes a week before I take my test. So far I got 2 very high and 1 borderline on my readiness assessments. And 2 pass on my CAT exams. I was wondering how is the NCLEX? Is it similar to the study material? What are your insights?

Job Interview

I live in NYC and I’ve been applying for hundreds of jobs on a daily basis since the beginning of this year and no luck. I work as a PCA at a hospital currently. I have an interview this week for a med surg position day shift. I am a little nervous. I’ve been hearing that the PCAs who became nurses had interviewed here and did not end up getting the job. I really hope I get the job because this job market is trash. What can I do to stand out? And how can I prepare questions etc…

I’m giving up

I just graduated from nursing school and have had no luck finding a job. Since January, I’ve submitted over 250 applications throughout the Long Island and NYC area even places that are far from me. I just need something!! I’ve applied to hospitals, clinics, med spas, psych units, schools, skilled nursing facilities, and even correctional facilities. I’ve updated my resume, emailed recruiters, and reached out directly to hospitals.

I know I’m supposed to feel happy and proud that I overcame all the challenges of nursing school and finally graduated, but instead I feel frustrated and discouraged because now I’m constantly worrying about whether I’ll actually find a job. I know I just graduated, but this process has been exhausting and discouraging. I’m even considering applying to restaurant jobs in my area so I can have some income while I continue searching. I’ve also applied to six different nurse residency programs and am currently waiting to hear

Northwell new grad fellowship

Has anyone heard anything from Northwell after applying to the new grad residencies? If so tell me about your experience and the whole interview process. Also how long did it take for them to get back to you

NCLEX prep

I graduated a few days ago and I’m thinking about starting NCLEX studying next Monday so I can have a fresh start to the week. I purchased Archer Review and I also have the Mark K notes and audios, but honestly I don’t know where to begin.

I’ve been watching TikTok videos of people who passed the NCLEX on their first attempt using Archer, and a lot of them said they mainly did readiness assessments, CAT exams, and remediated every day while taking notes. Part of me wants to follow what worked for other people, but I’m also considering following Archer’s 6-week study calendar with the videos included.

The only thing stressing me out is the notes part. I learn best when information is already provided and I can write key points on the side to help me understand and remember everything. Archer videos don’t really provide notes like that, so I feel a little overwhelmed and unsure of what the best approach is.

I just really want to pass

Frusturated

I am about to graduate nursing school in a week I will possibly be sitting for the NCLEX some time in July and I have not interviewed anywhere for a nursing position. I've applied to over 200 positions every day since January. I would either be get no response back or a rejection email. I live in NY. I've been applying to hospitals in the city and in LI. I didn't realize how hard it would be to get a job. I have also reached out to recruiters on linked in and no response back. It's hard to find job fairs because it's almost never even posted on company sites. I do have about 4 yrs working in health care including being a PCA at a hospital. But even so, I do want a job with good benefits my hospital doesn't offer that.
