I start Topamax today. Anyone with good experiences?
I went to a neuro today for the first time and he prescribed me Topomax - 25mg. I'm always a little nervous when starting new meds. Could you guys share your experiences with it, please?
Are my glasses wrong or is this "normal" for astigmatism?
I've been using glasses for astigmatism 2018 and it was perfect. Everything was crisp and sharp and beautiful.
For around a year things started to get blurry again so I went to the eye doctor and my prescription was updated. It's now 175 degrees of axis in both eyes. Cylinder is 2.25 in right eye and 1.50 in left eye. I unfortunately don't know what the old prescription was.
So I got my updated glasses and for the first two weeks all looked weird and distorted. It's been a month now and that got better though the floor still looks weird sometimes. But my vision is blurry for reading, using computers, watching TV and my eyes get really tired driving. This lasts all day everyday, from waking up to going to bed. I can read well enough but I feel a little out of sorts, almost disoriented. If I'm a meter away from a screen or poster or anything, it gets pretty blurry and starts to get difficult to read, but close it's very blurry too.
Dry eyes don't seem to be the reason. Is this a sign the prescription is wrong?
Is this dysphagia?
I have a small hiatal hernia and GERD for years but yesterday in the shower I felt sort of nauseous and then I couldn't swallow and panicked. I thought I was having something very serious and went to the hospital. It got better soon on its own and doctors said I'm OK with only a mild sore throat. No fever, blood pressure normal, ekg normal... But I'm still scared. Today I have felt it a little bit hard swallowing saliva only but I can eat and drink fine. Is this how it feels? This is a new scary symptom to me so even though doctors say it's nothing to worry... It's hard not to.
What old Tama do you want to be raisable again?
Mine is Knightchi
Has anyone felt like their throat close so tight that you couldn't swallow saliva?
I was taking a shower and this just happened. I went to ER and they said I got a mild sore throat and that's it. They said it could be because of the anxiety but I have NEVER felt something as scary as this.
Is there any sign of keratoconus?
I've had astigmatism for about 10 years but this year I got a prescription upgrade but it's been a month with new glasses and everything's still blurry. It's making me avoid driving and even watching TV, also makes me a little dizzy, but not vertigo or anything like that.
I have these results but can't understand anything and my eye doctor is only gonna see me in a few weeks and I've been pretty nervous. There is another exam I'll also be doing soon, which I believe is the one that will really show if there is keratoconus, but can anything be taken from this one?
Be very careful when opening the Uni, especially with the screws
I decided to write this because of something I went through this week.
The A button in my Uni got stuck. It wouldn't come back up when pressed, unless I turned the device face down.
I decided to open it to fix it. I have a kit of screwdrivers of different sizes and it looked like it would be easy. I used glue sticks to remove the screw caps and it was easy, but when it came to remove the screws, they were very very tight and my screwdrivers where those skinny types with bot much of a grip. I managed to unscrew one of them so I kept trying with the other three and you can guess what happend. I stripped all three.
So I took it to a place that fixes smartphones and the repairman had to use a small driller to remove the screw caps.
Then I opened the case and as I imagined, the issue was that the rubber nub inside the button had ruptured, so I switched the nub from the A button with the nub from the reset button, leaving it with no reset button at least for now.
I'm only writing this because opening it to fix or to change the shell look easy enough, but those screws are very small and sensitive and you might end making things worse. In my impatience to fix mine, I almost made it unfixable. So beware! If you're not sure what you're doing, take it some place where they have proper screwdrivers and are professionals.
What happens if I feed one of each evolution food?
I have a Lionetchi and I fed her one patissier cake (which results in Patitchi) and one fruit candy (which results into Tanghulutchj).
I thought it'd be a fun surprise not to know which one she will grow into but I'm not sure if one food will cancel the other out and I'll just end up with a non-dlc character
Current run!
Mamegon is getting married tomorrow. Tuyopitchi grew today!
Hard time adapting to new glasses (astigmatism)
Hey everyone!
I wear glasses since 2018. When I first started it was pretty easy to adapt. It was like I finally could see in HD and there were some distortions but they didn't bother me much and went away, however, it was not the right prescription. My doctor had decided to give me "weaker" glasses to adapt.
I was supposed to go with the right prescription one hear later, but due to some circumstances I only got the new ones in 2022 (after I took the exams again, of course). I remember it took some time to adapt but I don't remember being as hard as I'm experiencing it now.
My glasses from 2022 broke in 2024 and I went back to the old ones from 2018. I thought I could see fine with them so I stayed with them but by the end of last year, my vision started to feel "off". As if I'm having trouble to focus on things and my eyes are making extra effort for me to see.
I went back to the eye doctor and I got new glasses Saturday. The prescription from 2022 and this year ended up being the same, but I don't have the prescription from 2018 so I don't know how much different it is.
I've been wearing the new glasses since Sunday, all day everyday and I everything is blurry. Not so blurry that I can't read but it is far from normal (and worse than it was before switching to the new glasses). It's making me feel very tired too.
I know it can take a few days for the brain/eyes to adapt but I expected it to be much better today (day 3). Could this be normal?

Is the M!x worth it?
I have a Paradise, Uni, Pix and Smart. The smart hasn't arrived yet but I love the other three.
After the Smart, I was thinking of getting the IDL, however, the M!x has caught my attention... But I only see the M!x mentioned in comparison to meets/on like "meets is am improved version of on". Are they so alike that M!x is just a meets with less functions or is it more amin to Smart and Uni, where the Uni clearly takes inspiration from the Smart but they are different enough that the Smart is still worth it even if you have the Uni?
