Why do people match and then unmatch on apps?

Hi all. Lesbian here back on the apps again.

One thing I’ve noticed happen quite a few times in the last few weeks is people will swipe for myself and I swipe back and I send a message to them. Then hours later (whenever they check the app again) they unmatch with me.

They are not bot accounts as they are verified and have an account on multiple apps (Tinder, HER, etc)

I just don’t understand why people swipe for someone they are not interested in and then unmatch when they are messaged.

These are the same people who say in their bios they are looking for a relationship and don’t like poor behavior on apps!

26F Dublin looking for a feminine lesbian relationship 🏳️‍🌈

Hi, Hola, Oi! I am a 26 year old lesbian living/from Dublin more on the feminine side who would love to meet a feminine girl aged between 26-36 and see what happens.

It seems practically impossible to find femme for femme relationships! I have tried dating butch/masculine girls, but I don’t feel the attraction.

Currently learning Spanish and Portuguese for my job so would be great to meet someone from any of these countries 🇵🇹🇵🇦🇧🇷🇨🇱🇨🇴🇬🇹🇲🇽

About Me:

• I’m 5ft 1 (157cm) and about 58kg. Very pale and blue eyes, blonde highlights in hair.

• I have never smoked anything but I enjoy going for a drink now and then.

• Currently doing an internship in an English language school for Brazilians, Mexicans and Chileans.

• I have 7 years volunteering social media experience helping students with Leaving Cert exams.

• Quite shy at first so it definitely takes me a bit of time to be comfortable with people.

• I’m an introvert so pretty much I enjoy cinema, reading, walks, quiet drink in a bar. I’m not a club or big party person at all.

My Type:

• I’ve always been more attracted to girls who speak other languages and are from other countries.

• I am open to introverted or extroverted girls.

• Non-Smoker or only smokes during drinking.

• I have always been attracted to people a bit older than me and I don’t have an issue with a decade age gap if we click.

• Ideally someone the same or close in height to myself (157cm / 5ft 1).

I look forward to hearing from you!

Is buying a car no more than 5 years old a bad decision for a first time driver earning barely above minimum wage?

Hi everyone just looking for a bit of advice.

Planning to start to learn to drive soon and would ideally like to get an automatic model next year, possibly Hyundai i10 or 20.

I was considering to buy a car under five years old (2022 or 2023).

Having compared insurance quotes, it seems for a new driver with no named drivers or family history of driving I could get a quote of 1200 which is definitely very cheap as I was getting quotes of over €2000 for cars approaching 10 years and older.

At the moment, I don’t have more than €5000 in savings so would need to save up. Not sure how much has to be paid upfront at a dealership??

By taking out a loan with the credit union for 21,000-23,000 over 3-4 years I could be paying maybe 600-750 per month.

Considering I live at home and have no other major expenses I feel this will be manageable. I understand that there is petrol, tax, servicing, etc. For the fuel, being in Dublin I would not be driving everyday as I would be working in the city.

I think it's important to stress that I'm going to be starting a clerical officer position and that will only pay €31,000 starting off which is obviously very low salary for someone considering a newer model.

I don’t know if I’m missing something in terms of costs here. I have read previous Reddit posts and the advice has always been to buy a much older car due to it being cheaper/risk of denting etc, but the insurance seems much higher (€2000-3000) and paying over €10000 for a 10-12 year old automatic car with a high mileage seems very steep.

What would you do if you were me next year? Buy an older car or a newer one?

TIA!!

Can you renew student stamp 2 visa for last 8 months if you leave the country for a few months after expiry of second?

Hi all.

My partner has just completed their second student stamp 2 Visa which expires this month and they are leaving the country next week and returning home for three months or so.

They’re wondering will the time spent outside the country impact their ability to renew a student stamp 2 Visa for the third and final time of eight months.

Is there a problem with leaving and coming back in a few months to complete the last 8 months of the 3rd renewal? Would it be refused?

Ideally she hopes to get a sponsor or post grad visa in the long-term and I know time spent outside Ireland can impact. But she wouldn’t be spending time outside Ireland on an active IRP.

Thank you!

Free Home Ec Content on IG

Hi all, hope it’s okay to post this here again.

For the past 7 years, I have a dedicated Instagram page (@home.ec.hugs) in relation to creating detailed predictions, summarising Home Ec topics via stories, and providing exam information in relation to paper structure.

All of this information is free to access and the only requirement is to follow (had some bot/empty accounts follow/view stories so felt more comfortable locking the page).

Tons of revision covered in story highlights and I am available to answer any questions over there too.

I seen some posts here and thought I’d share for anyone who is unaware of the page.

The Instagram is @home.ec.hugs

Have a lovely day!
