Work Restrictions Not Understood

Short version: Has anyone experienced bosses not taking concussions seriously?

Long version: I feel I already got an answer before I could type this. (Urgent care just took me off work altogether.) But I was diagnosed with mild-moderate concussion occurring on Saturday night. Dr offered to give me the week off but I had so much work to do he agreed to put me on “light duty.” My supervisor basically said she didn’t know what to do with that and proceed with business as usual since most of our work isn’t physical. It’s typing tons of documentation and reports and meeting with clients in the field. I have to finish some reports before I give her the new note that I’m off work because I don’t want to get in trouble for not meeting deadlines.

I Feel Stupid After Reconnecting

Hadn’t talk to him since March. I had a moment of weakness and reached out. I let him come visit on Mother’s Day. He was drinking and was very sick the next morning. He has cirrhosis. He started crying and asked if I’d stay with him in the hospital while he detoxed. I said yes. His mother and I took him. They only kept him one night. He puked and puked. I was by his side carrying puke bags to nurses and swapping them for clean bags. The next night after he discharges he was back to being a jerk. I checked in with him once each day after and let things be Friday. Saturday I called to drop some of his shit off. He didn’t answer so I left it on his door. He was home and saw me. Later that night I was at a friend’s house playing with her kid and their new puppy. I slipped on a doormat and went face first into the corner of the wall. My head immediately swelled up and they were worried. They had to go to a birthday party but didn’t want me to be alone due to possible concussion. Do you think he’d answer my call or even read my text? Nope. Now the interior bleeding has pooled around my eye and I have a nasty black eye that is almost swollen shut. I’m so hurt that I was stand by him through hell just to be ghosted when I need help. But I’m also mad at myself for letting him back in to treat me like shit all over again.

Murders of Children in Iowa

There are so many I can’t include them all. I am sorry for the darkness but I must express my anger—for lack of accountability, questions asked, resolution, and lenient sentencing—much could have been prevented if people spoke up. If you see something, SAY SOMETHING! Children are vulnerable. It’s our duties to protect them. This is a VERY short list of some high profile cases and the outcome of the perpetrator if solved. Feel free to add any more. I want to band together to be more aware. Stop. Pay attention to what you see around you. Pay attention to the children you encounter. Having your report rejected still leaves a record. Pay attention. Changes in behavior can indicate something is wrong with both children and perpetrators.

She Filed…

I fell out of love with my wife and told her. It crushed her. She said it hurt to see me so I moved out. I paid for almost everything so I started moving everything out—beds, couch, recliners, TVs, kitchen table, kitchen items, towels, anything I needed for my new rental. Paid for all that shit. I was getting ready to empty out our second garage with all my things and she sent me a pic of a court doc saying nothing can be taken out of the house and I can’t sell anything. How can she be entitled to anything of mine when I made all the money and she made maybe half as much as me?

How does this play out? Spouse keeps taking marital property from marital home. Spouse got a rental I’m staying in home until we sell it in a month and I move into my rental. I hired an attorney this week and divorce should be filed within next couple business days. Spouse wanted the divorce. Spouse was the breadwinner and feels cutting me off financially is the power move. Attorney assures me I’ll get some type of temp support between kids and home, but it will take some time. What can I expect until then? This is getting ridiculous and every time I come home more stuff is gone—TVs, beds, couches, silverware, towels, medicine, dishes… it’s never ending.
