20% through Private Rites by Julia Armfield, does it pick up?

I feel like I'm dragging my way through this, and reaching for my non-fiction book when I want to read... I liked Our Wives Under The Sea but didn't like Salt Slow. Does this get better? No spoilers pls!

I would normally finish a book this length in a few days and I've been reading this for a week now.

UPDATE: I'm going to DNF it, thank you all for your comments!

P.S the non-fiction I'm reading is called Cunning Folk: Life in the Era of Practical Magic by Tabitha Stanmore and I highly recommend it! Definitely got some weird girls in it.

Penryn, Cornwall

Opposite this is a stone monkeys head embedded in a house, apparently from Glasney College which was a monastery and ecclesiastical college

Came home from the pub to find a little baby rook (I think) on my front step!

The bird was fine, we gave it space and then it flew off :) A second fledgling was on my window sill!

Best primers? UK

I feel like I've got skin prep and foundation right, but the make up does not stay on my skin. Right after application, it looks perfect, and then after a short while, starts pilling/moving.

I have regular skin, on the dry side. Any primer recommendations?
