Some designs for the lycans in my manga- P2

Second round. Final one is just digital and upto date art.

A lot of lore, characters and designs have overall changes from this concept art to now.

Something I did keep though is that in human-form, which in my setting is more of a transitional mimicry-state to imitate humans and actuslly coexist in society, lycans often wear some form of shoulder protection or neckwear, be it:

- Chokers
- Large epaulets/paldrons
- large suit jacket lapels or notches
- Hoodies
- Scraves
-etc

Reason being that, while they retain a majority of their strength, the neck is far more vulnerable to other lycans while in human form; and so a subculture of eccentric “battle fashion” with visual style similar to the crazy and kinda dumb looking Met-Gala wear of modern times, was born as to not get caught lacking and get decapitated by a potential finely tuned bite to the neck when off guard.

I HATE FRANKLIN RICHARDS

I HATE THIS STUPID F*CKING BABY SO MUCH! HES THE DUMBEST, MOST USELESS CHARACTER IN ALL OF MARVEL! AND FREAKING BUTTERBALL EXISTS SO THATS SAYING SOMETHING!!

Franklin Richards is the first child and son of Reed ans Sue (storm) Richards- and somehow, an invisible woman + a Stretchy man = A REALITY WARPING FALSE GOD BRAT!? LIKE TF!?

Look at his stupid face in the first image. Dumb baby. Stupid lil baby. Ugly ahh, wannabe Wanda maximoff baby.

Speaking of Wanda, this little dumbass is a mutant. Oh wait- NO HES NOT! I would’ve accepted him being a reality warped if he had the X-gene, something he’s had for decades and that has produced multiple other reality warping individuals as an in-universe explanation for such grand scale power…..

But the writers said FUCK IT, and this little ass-hole decided “oh yeah, I was be never a mutant- I’m just so powerful thst I changed my biology and removed the X-gene entirely”

It was revealed that Franklin never actually had the mutant X-gene. Instead, his god-like reality-warping powers allowed him to unconsciously rewrite his own biology so that he BELIEVED he was a mutant? Because he wasn't a "true" mutant, the X-Men's Cerebro tracking system lost him and he was expelled from the mutant nation of Krakoa, also making the X-men look worse.

Also his stupid ass hair. Why tf does he go from being blonde to black haired huh? WELL ILL TELL YOU FAUSE ITS DUMB!

I bet you didn’t know this little f*ck is worse trans rep than Jax 💀💀.

Apparently he was supposed to be an allegory for trans people after the issue of Franklin's mutant status was revoked.

After sheltering himself inside of “Thought-Space”, Valeria (his much cooler, Much smarter sister) cannot convince Franklin to leave with her as doing so would require him to abandon the godlike powers granted to him in that dimension. As Reed and Sue beg him to return, Franklin asks them "If I use this power on myself, if I make it so I'm the way I feel inside, tell me you're okay with that." Sue and Richard agree, promising to love him unconditionally, and Franklin emerges...and reveals that he has permanently given himself BLACK F*CKING HAIR!?

Instead of giving him any kind of depth in this issue they play his potential allegory as a joke to give him black hair 💀😭✌🏾

He’s a luving Deus ex machina for when the writers get themself into a corner and thats not even used correctly and doesent do any meaningful shit in this universe except be lame or a nuisance!!

This smug little asshole is apparently gonna be the last entity in the universe when it ends and galactus will become HIS herald and thst just… pisses me off. I hate him so much. The memes are great but also a valid point on the general consensus of rhis stupid googoo kids, bluey loving, Cthonic infant.

Fenrisulfr Hidrotvit (OMEN)- old werewolf concept art

Disclaimer: This is old concept art from a personal project. Not intended as self-promotion—just sharing a design I still really enjoy looking back on.)

A friend and I were revisiting some early concept art for a webcomic project and stumbled across this old design for Fenrisulfr, a massive quadrupedal lycanthrope. Even years later, I think it's one of the more visually interesting creature concepts we came up with.

What I like most is how heavily the design focuses on the head and face- very cephalo-centric. The silhouette is built around an oversized mane, exposed skull-like muzzle, and a prominent gemstone embedded in the forehead, immediately drawing attention toward the character's expression. The drooping hide around the jaw and cheeks gives him the appearance of a carcass partially shedding its skin, creating a strange balance between "living animal" and "walking fossil."

A lot of the smaller details reinforce that idea. The vents along the nasal bridge suggest an internal furnace, while lava-like saliva spilling from the mouth hints at something volcanic.

I also enjoy how the design can shift between forms. This quadrupedal version acts as a baseline, but later concepts allowed the upper body to rise into a larger centaur-like stance inspired in part by the werewolves from Dungeon Meshi. The transformation preserves the same recognizable head silhouette while dramatically changing the creature's overall shape and scale.
Looking back at it now, the hanging facial hide unintentionally reminds me of a bearded vulture lol, which may be why the design still stands out to me. It manages to feel lupine, skeletal, and volcanic without pushing too hard into tropes and without relying on excessive ornamentation.

Overall, I think it's a good example of a monster design that stays readable from a distance while rewarding a closer look with smaller details.

As to not self promote, I’m purely showing concept art rather than up to date content since the works not out yet.

I hate lobotomy fandoms

Goodness gracious dawg, I JUST opened Reddit. Who starts a post like that, I JUST SAT DOWN 😭😭

Invincible JUST ended, and JJk has been over at least manga-wise for a while. Are we so starved of entertainment that we gotta make these posts LMAO!

I don’t actually hate it, and it used to be funny, but FAHHHHHHHHHH! The lack of shame to post this is actually staggering to me at this point, Geez Louise.

And back-to-back on my fyp is genuinely crazy. Like legitimately insane. I need to get off this app bro, and lobotomy Kaisen + invincible need to go outside. I’m actually losing my mind, bro 😭

(Ignore that I liked it. That was off of habit before I read it.)

Edit: you know what, I like it, hell I LOVE it! There I said it

My theory to connect everything (screw what the duffers said lol)

(This is a long theory I’ve been thinking about since season 5 ended, and my opinion on making seasons 1-5 cohesive. Theres a TLDR at the bottom)

Lowkey I know it’s beating a dead horse but season 5 has been bugging me- and moreover, People opinions on how it doesn’t makes sense. BELIEVE ME, I felt the same way at first, but as nerds, we can all find connective tissue. I’m pretty sure someone’s prolly already made posts like this but I lowkey am not in the subreddit and wanted to post.

In my opinion, I genuinely think the ending of Stranger Things makes WAY more sense if you interpret the Mind Flayer not as “Vecna’s pet smoke monster,” but as an ancient extradimensional hive-organism that infected and assimilated all life in Dimension X long before Henry ever arrived there.

The biggest issue with the later seasons is that the show kind of flips back and forth between “the Mind Flayer is the true cosmic threat” and “Vecna was behind everything the whole time,” but I honestly think both are true simultaneously. The Mind Flayer is the actual organism/intelligence, while Henry/Vecna became its first truly successful human symbiote — not a puppet exactly, but not fully independent either. More like the human ego and strategic consciousness of a much larger hive intelligence.

Under this interpretation, Dimension X is essentially an infected ecosystem consumed by a psychic superorganism- that being the particles that ARE the mind Flayer. The Demogorgons, Demo Dogs, Demobats, vines, spores, particles, etc are separate species serving the Mind Flayer — but they’re ALSO the Mind Flayer. They’re extensions of a single distributed consciousness. Think immune cells or organs belonging to a planetary-scale psychic organism. The smoke particles are its true non-corporeal form, but because it exists in another dimension, it can’t fully manifest physically on Earth without gateways, hosts, biomass, and psychic anchors. That’s why gates matter so much throughout the series. The entity is trapped in Dimension X and needs emotionally vulnerable psychics to weaken reality enough for it to spread. In season 2 finale after the particles flow out of will and Eleven closes the gate- it can’t go back, showcasing it can’t traverse dimensions itself and needs other organisms, instead staying on earth and building a body in season 3.

This also explains why psychic powers and trauma are linked throughout the show. Eleven and the psychic children weren’t “chosen ones,” they were humans naturally sensitive to the same psychic plane the Mind Flayer inhabits due to being exposed to the infection (Henry’s blood) as fetus’. Their emotional outbursts weaken dimensional barriers and showcases how and why emotions are so powerful and affect dimensions in stranger things.

Henry is different from Eleven because he was exposed to the Mind Flayer’s influence while still very young, meaning his psychology developed alongside the hive’s influence. In season 5, we saw Henry wasn’t simply “born evil.” He was a scared, isolated child who slowly stopped resisting the connection (as seen in that damn broadway play) because the power and sense of superiority felt better than fear and loneliness. The Mind Flayer amplified traits already inside him — alienation, narcissism, predatory thinking — while Henry simultaneously imprinted his own psychology back onto the hive. That’s why the Mind Flayer eventually adopts spider imagery. The spiders aren’t necessarily its original form; they’re Henry’s obsession projected onto an incomprehensible organism metaphorically and literally, as he used his telekinesis originating from the Mind Flayer, to shape its particulate true form into that. His young mind developed around the traits and ideas enforced upon him via having these powers and the influence of the mind Flayer, basically being infected in the same way Will, Billy, and people in Season 3 were- except he gained psychic powers and retained his agency whike being subsumed and centered around the hive minds goals.

This interpretation also fixes the whole Vecna/Mind Flayer confusion. Vecna isn’t secretly controlling the Mind Flayer. The Mind Flayer isn’t fully controlling Vecna either. They became symbiotic, but the Mind Flayer malevolent force/outer super organism that connects, influences and manipulates the hive mind- Vecna basically being a mouth piece, intent and glorified general, as the Mind Flayer and Vecna are one entity via sharing consciousness. Vecna provides strategy, symbolism, cruelty, and human understanding. The Mind Flayer provides the actual power source, hive consciousness, dimensional infection, and biological infrastructure. Over time they essentially became one composite entity, but Henry’s agency and understanding of himself remains.

The Upside Down itself also makes way more sense this way. As we know, the Upside Down is not Dimension X. Dimension X is the original infected world. The Upside Down is the “in-between” layer created when Eleven accidentally made stable psychic contact with a hive organism (the Demogorgon) and tore open reality. It’s basically a dimensional scar or wormhole membrane connecting Earth and Dimension X. A bridge. That’s why Hawkins is mirrored there but covered in alien biology. It’s not another universe — it’s contaminated transitional space. The “exotic matter” revealed in Season 5 being what stabilizes the Upside Down actually fits perfectly under this theory too: it’s basically the dimensional connective tissue keeping the bridge alive and allows the Hive mind organisms to go back and forth between The abyss and Earth.

Every season then becomes one stage of the same invasion process rather than random escalating monsters:

- Season 1 is contact. Eleven psychically touches the hive through the Demogorgon, creates the gate, and Will becomes the first infected anchor. The hive is somewhat aware if her and a small portion of the hive via the Demogorgon exits into Earth to hunt and “scope it out” - Vecna/The Mind flayer looking for another suitable host to anchor itself to earth as mind you, Vecna has lowkey been trapped in dimension X as well.

- Season 2 is colonization. Will is partially connected to the hive and unknowingly helps spread Demo Dogs onto Earth after vomiting the slug. The Mind Flayer attempts large-scale nervous system control through him, Will acting as a receiver for the signal that is the Mind Flayer, like a lesser Vecna. The mind flayer is trying to prep-colonize before coming through the gate that Eleven then closes at the end of the season, a portion of it exiting Will but being trapped as a result.

- Season 3 is manifestation. Billy becomes a stronger Earth anchor than Will after his possession in the steel mill, allowing the Mind Flayer to directly perceive and interact through him. It used the small receiver it had through him to infect other organisms (rats and like 20 other people) and used them to create The Flesh Flayer. This is the Mind flayer entity attempting to build a physical Earth-compatible body out of biomass because it still cannot fully exist here naturally. Also creating a body to guard and kill eleven itself so she can’t close the gate. It does this due to Billy’s existing trauma, abuse and emotional/mental health issues- a common theme of those preyed upon and infected by the Mind Flayer and Vecna.

- Season 4 is convergence. Vecna weaponizes trauma itself, using emotionally vulnerable people to create intersecting gates and weaken reality from multiple points at once. The only thing that brings them out is the same thing that helped Henry’s dad, Will and eventually max- connection to others (which can come in the form of music as well) and avoidance of self isolation, aka finding community.

- Then Season 5 is assimilation. Vecna kidnaps children and uses their weaker minds to fuel his own powers, infecting them and using emotional suffering as amplifiers while their bodies remain in Dimension X. Earth, the Upside Down, and Dimension X begin collapsing into each other. The goal was never just destruction — it was complete dimensional unification so the Mind Flayer could exist physically on Earth without barriers.

This is also why the giant spider-like “Pain Tree” physical body of the Mind Flayer in the finale makes sense. People kept asking where all the Demogorgons, Demobats, and Demo Dogs went despite Dimension X being full of them earlier in the series. I honestly think the answer is that the hive repurposed them as biomass for its final incarnation. The Mind Flayer doesn’t view those organisms as separate lifeforms; they’re literally parts of itself. By Season 5 it no longer needed countless smaller organisms because Vecna’s merging plan was almost complete. It condensed the hive into one massive Earth-stable body — likely influenced visually by Henry’s spider obsession — intending to fully assimilate Earth’s ecosystem afterward and create new organisms from Earth’s biomass once the dimensions fused permanently.

Even Billy’s possession scenes make more sense through this lens. In season three when he was monologuing to Eleven, he said “you let us in…. And now you have to let us stay”- the mind flayer denoting that Eleven opened the gate and allowed the bridge to form, as well as sent Henry to dimension X. When Billy cries while speaking to Eleven as the Mind Flayer, that’s not the Mind Flayer pretending to be emotional. Billy is still conscious inside the hive connection. He knows what he’s saying. He’s horrified because his body and mind are being used as a mouthpiece. Will resisted the hive through emotional connection to others. Billy briefly breaks free through memories and love via Eleven speaking to him and Max. Henry, meanwhile, eventually stopped resisting entirely and willingly “let it stay”, When he was young/was an orderly in the labs.

And honestly, I think that’s the core theme the series was always building toward until they fully derailed that and didn’t care anymore: trauma opening doors. The Mind Flayer isn’t just a monster. It’s a metaphorical and literal infection that spreads through emotional vulnerability, isolation, fear, and loss of identity. The horror isn’t simply death — it’s assimilation. Becoming part of something vast that erases individuality and prevents outcasts and nerds, people who are I accepted, from finding community with others outside themselves. And while I don’t like it cause it’s basically glorifying ideation a little bit, Eleven sacrificing herself slightly works inly for this theory specifically. As those with psychic powers are active anchor points rhat are capabke of opening gates. As long as people like her exist, governments will keep trying to recreate the experiments and eventually reopen the bridge again. Thats not really a theme or advocation to take one’s own life, but rather just an in-universe explanation that physic powers shouldnt exist. Just gotta clarify. Killing the Mind Flayer’s physical body and decapitating Vecna destroys the hive mind, or at least weakens it- but destroying the exotic matter collapses the Upside Down permanently, sealing Dimension X away once more, with Eleven removing herself from the equation being what truly breaks the cycle unfortunately.

TLDR; Mind flayer is still the real villain. It’s an extra-dimensional infectious entity that can’t enter our reality from dimension X without a part of itself/an organism infected by it doing so. Once it gets to earth, it needs a vessel/physical form rather than just being smoke
