Questions about reading screenplays
Is there a place I can (legally) download epubs of scripts for free so I can read them on my kindle? Also, is it better to read scripts for films I’ve seen or ones I haven’t?

I think we’ve all given up hope for a June series, but do you think they’ll do something like the UFO series once a month throughout the summer? It seems like it would be a nice middle ground of keeping the series without having to dedicate screens to it every day.
(I do think the UFO series was hugely mishandled and borderline buried though, and would love to see them pivot to an earlier showtime if they continue.)
Looking for something like “Twilight Zone”, “Alien”, and “The Thing.” I work retail so preferably something that has tension but won’t cause me to jump in front of customers.
It can be earth or spacebound, serial or an anthology. Preferably episodes that are 30 minutes to an hour.
like the title says. I’m looking for things to listen to at work. preferably bite sized episodes (30-45 minutes). Looking for something like ”Alien” or “The Thing” that will spook me but won’t make me jump out of my skin in front of customers.
Are there any screenwriting podcasts for beginners? I’ve tried scriptnotes and found some gold but it’s a bit hard to find some gold when most of their catalogue is paywalled. I’ve also tried The Screenwriting Life but found that it’s for writers that are slightly more progressed in their screenwriting careers (and to be honest, if I hear the word “lava“ one more time I’m going to do something rash).
So, are there any you’d recommend to somebody just starting out?
What the title says.
I’m getting tired of seeing AI/low-effort smut books in my store. It makes the catalogue feel bloated and nearly impossible to navigate. Is there a way to filter it out?
I’m currently barreling through Unspooled and What Went Wrong’s catalogues at work and want a few podcasts on deck for when I finish them. What are some of your favorites?
I’ll take anything film related whether that be about the craft of filmmaking/screenwriting, cast/crew interviews, film retrospective, etc.
I’m currently watching LOST for the first time (*no spoilers please*) and want books that feel like it. Character driven stories that start out mostly normal and just get weirder and more mysterious as they go on, and if possible, ones that have an ensemble cast of characters and delve into their backstories.
(and has a good payoff. I’m bracing myself for the finale)
Despite its flaws, the film is one of my guilty pleasures. I figured with how well it did at the box office we’d have been well on our way to a 3rd or even a 4th by now. Have there been any updates recently, and if not, what are the chances it’s been shelved?
I went to a Christian high school and for some class we had to watch this old bible study dvd that was a ripoff of the show LOST. This was either right before the pandemic or shortly after everything reopened, but the series was almost certainly released pre-2010. I figure this is the case because although everyone had cellphones, nobody had a smartphone, and the plot relied heavily on finding signal.
I just remember bits and pieces of it, so apologies if this isn’t enough information. It opens with a group of teenage stereotypes (emo, jock, etc.) and their youth pastor in a bus on the way to some church event/youth camp. At some point the bus flips and they end up in the woods. IIRC the youth pastor is killed in the crash (but I vaguely remember him waking up in the finale, although I could be misremembering).
for whatever reason, the teens get lost in the woods trying to find a phone signal. The “sinner” of the group finds signal and texts their crush/partner without telling the group and ends up using the last of the phone’s battery.
I’m pretty sure at some point this person dies and converts on their death bed? Idk man, I’m a Christian but our media is so weird.
One of them is guided by a mysterious orb of light that the others can’t see (bible study stuff) which leads them back to the wreck where I think they have to take shelter from hunters or wildlife or something. The series ends with them making it out of the woods.
Please help me find this so I can make fun of it with my friends again.
other notable things
-it was almost certainly straight-to-dvd
-most series like this are typically packaged with a bible study workbook
I need to open up my Ipod to replace the aux, and while I'm at it I figured I might as well go ahead and replace the face and backplates. Where are the best places to buy mods? I've seen some on ebay but they're pretty cheap so I don't know what the quality would be like.
Going to the theater hasn't felt the same since he disappeared. Hope he's still out there somewhere enjoying animated musicals.
I don't know if this is allowed here but I'm too new of a reddit user to post in the screenwriting sub.
I'm a film student so I have a few shorts under my belt, but I'm looking to write a feature this summer and it feels daunting. Anything I should know before I start? Also, are there any outlining tips/methods you could suggest?
I'm looking to write a feature this summer. I'm a cinema student so I've already got a few short films under my belt but a project this large still feels a bit daunting. Any advice before I begin?
Bonus points: Are there any outlining methods that work for you?
What the title says. I'm about to have my last ever summer vacation before graduating from college. I feel like I'm in this weird gray area where teen films like "The Breakfast Club" don't hit like they used to but I don't have enough life experience to be like "Ha ha, yeah, Office Space is just like my life."
Looking to build out a summer watchlist. What are some films that would hit the hardest in this particular stage of life? I want a wide selection, open to any genre. Looking for things I can watch alone, but also some stuff I SHOULD watch with my friends.
What the title says. If you could pick, what films would you want Regal to put in their classics lineup?
I'm getting two of my top picks next month with Phantom of the Opera (2004) and Baby Driver, but I would LOVE to see some of the slightly more niche classic films like Goodbye Mr. Chips (1939), Harvey (1950), and Marty (1955) show up eventually.
I'm working with an unmodded 5th gen ipod and the aux jack is acting up. I'm only getting sound out of the left side of any headphone/aux cord I try, except when I push the aux back. Any ideas of what might be causing this or how to fix it? For what it's worth, I tried to clean in the best I could. I've also tried restarting it, and still no dice.
Thanks y'all!
