Weapon X
I was ordering online to pick up some recent missed issues and needed to make the shipping cost worth it, so I decided to continue to fill in some older holes in my collection. Stoked to almost have the whole WX series! 4 more to go.
Tacchina
Back again showcasing another new speciality sandwich from Corti Brothers. After all the conversation around the bread-to-meat ratio on the chicken sandwich, I can reassure everyone that this Tacchina has a MUCH better balance.
“Sliced Dijon Crusted Corti Turkey, House made Pesto, Calabrian Chili Oil, Sun Dried Tomato Spread, Fresh Zucchini, crushed Red Peppers. On Acme roll,”
I can attest that, despite the description, the bread was not the same Acme Roll as the chicken sando, but more of a more beautifully herbed focaccia-type bread. It was served hot, which I didn’t expect, but it being wrapped up in foil for a bit really let the oil soak into that bread.
Spicy Chicken Sandwich
A nice spicy chicken sandwich from the one and only Corti Brothers in Sacramento. This is one of the new “Roadside Sandwiches,” of which I had their fantastic Porchetta Bánh Mì last week. As described: “Crispy buttermilk fried chicken breast with habanero garlic sauce, honey and sliced dill pickles on an Acme roll.” I paired it with some nice crunchy Tim’s Kettle Jalapeño chips.
The bread was awesome holding up against possible sog that could have happened during my commute home. They also put it in a box instead of wrapping it, which was greatly appreciated and likely also helped with reducing the threat of sog. Everything was fantastic, as usual!
Edit: Seems the consensus is that this was a very dry sandwich with bad ratios. While I will agree that, while delicious, I do think there was too much bread. That said, it helped with the heat! A little extra gluten in my mouth kept it from being too over the top with the heat.
Recycle Bag Help
Greetings all! Recently Nespresso US switched me from the black recycle bag to the white one (pictured). For the LIFE of me I don’t understand how to seal the dang thing “properly.” The black one was easy; remove strip, fold over, sealed! This one doesn’t work the same, and I feel like an absolute dummy trying to get it right. The last three bags I just wind up using packing tape on. Does anyone have a video to show me EXACTLY how it works?! I feel very defeated by not being able to figure this out!!!

Frustratingly Fantastic
Trying not to shatter a fork while cutting through a gummy tortilla can be quite frustrating, but maybe it’s their special way of making me work for it and take my time to enjoy it a little bit more. It was fantastic. I can’t wait to have 60 more.
Happy Early Birthday to me!
A local retro collection shop posted this bad boy up on their social media the other day, and I was lucky enough to take it home! It’s an original 1997 pressing and it was in BEAUTIFUL shape! This thing sounds incredible. It is my 21st 311 vinyl in my collection, and I’m still missing plenty of albums.
