Is this worth buying?

Came across this deal. The usual price is around 24K for this equipment and currently it's available for around 18.5K. I'm in process of setting up a home gym and already order decided on weights and bar. The bench press stand + bench combined totalled to around 14k. So instead of buying those two seperately, is it a good idea to get this all in one by paying 4k extra? I know that there a lots of cheaper ones available as well and with horrible quality but reviews of this one (at least when it comes to the build quality) are mainly positive. Please let me know if should go for this or not. Thanks

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to build my first home gym and wanted to get some advice before I place the order. I've attached screenshots of my current cart.

Current total cost is around ₹46,000, which includes:

  • Walking Pad – ₹7,200
  • Adjustable Bench
  • Squat Rack / Bench Press Stand
  • 7 ft Olympic Bar
  • 50 kg Olympic Rubber Plates
  • 5 ft Straight Bar + 3 ft EZ Curl Bar
  • 50 kg Adjustable Dumbbell Set (28 mm)

My target budget is below ₹35,000, so I'm trying to figure out where I can save money without regretting my purchases later.

A little about me:

  • Current fitness level: Between beginner and intermediate
  • Goal: Build strength, gain muscle and stay fit.
  • Not training for powerlifting or bodybuilding competitions.
  • I train along with my brother (same level).

The reason I'm building a home gym is because I travel out of state for work every month, which breaks my consistency with commercial gyms. A home gym will let me train whenever I'm at home and is something I see myself using for many years.

I'm also trying to build this for the long term. I'd rather spend a little more on the right equipment now than replace it in a couple of years. Unless something actually breaks, I don't want to buy the same equipment twice.

I'd really appreciate advice on the following:

  • Which items would you remove or postpone to bring the budget below ₹35k?
  • Is there anything in my list that's unnecessary or redundant?
  • Are there any better or cheaper alternatives for the same equipment without sacrificing too much quality?
  • Is there anything important that I'm missing?
  • Would you recommend sticking with both the Olympic (50 mm) setup and the standard 28 mm setup, or is that overkill?
  • If you had a ₹35k budget, what would your shopping list look like?

I'm open to buying some equipment used if it makes sense, so if you've gone that route, I'd love to hear your experience as well.

Thanks in advance!

Want to sell Germany Home Jersey (Authentic Version)

Had ordered it few days back and was delivered today. The reason for selling is the fit. The jersey size is M and I find the fit to be little loose on my body. The jersey is completely new and unused with all tags attached. Willing to sell it for 900 Rs (buyer has to arrange for pickup and delivery). DM if interested.

Thinking of setting up a home gym. Looking for advice and equipment suggestions.

Hi everyone,

I've been considering setting up a home gym and wanted to get some advice from people who have already done it.

The main reason is convenience and consistency. Due to work, I have to travel out of state every month and spend around 2–3 weeks away from home. This often breaks my workout routine, and when I'm back home, I feel that having a gym setup readily available would make it easier to stay consistent instead of relying entirely on commercial gyms.

My goal is general fitness, strength, and long-term health rather than competitive bodybuilding or powerlifting.

I have a budget of around ₹30,000 and would like to build a setup that allows me to train my entire body effectively.

A few questions:

- Is setting up a home gym a good investment?

- What equipment would you consider essential for a complete full-body workout?

- If you had a budget of around ₹30k, how would you spend it?

- I've come across a lot of 20-in-1/multi-function gym benches online. Are they actually good, or is it better to buy separate equipment?

- Are steel weight plates better than rubber-coated/rubber plates for home use?

- Are there any purchases that you regret or would avoid?

- Is there anything I should known before building my setup?

Would love to hear your experiences, suggestions, and recommendations before I make a decision.

Thanks! 🙏💪

Complete beginner looking to start investing in mutual funds. Need guidance

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to start investing in mutual funds for long-term wealth creation.

Until now, most of my investments have been in FDs and NSCs, largely because those were the investment avenues suggested by my father when I started earning. Over time, I've accumulated around Rs 6 lakh (might be more, haven't checked from quite some time) through these investments.

I also have an LIC policy for which I pay around ₹5,500/month. To be honest, I wasn't very aware of how LIC policies worked when I started earning. My father had arranged a meeting with an LIC agent and I ended up taking the policy. Since then, I've just continued paying the premiums.

Now I've started learning about investing myself and wants to gradually move towards mutual funds.

Current situation:

- Age: 27

- Unmarried

- No Loans/EMIs

- Investment experience: Complete beginner in mutual funds/equity

- Existing investments: FDs, NSCs

- Existing LIC policy: ₹5,500/month premium

- Corpus accumulated so far: ~₹5–6 lakh

- Can invest: ₹5k–10k per month initially

- Investment Period: 15+ years

- Plan: Increase SIP amount gradually over time

- Goal: Long-term wealth creation

- Risk appetite: Low to moderate

A few questions:

  1. Which mutual funds would you recommend for someone just starting out?

  2. Should I start with a single fund or split the amount across multiple funds?

  3. Would an index fund be the best starting point?

  4. How would you allocate ₹5k–10k/month if you were in my position?

  5. Any mistakes that beginners commonly make which I should avoid?

Looking forward to your suggestions. Thanks!

Digitek Dry Cabinet Query

Bought the Digitek Dry cabinet recently but I'm not understanding how to use it properly. The instructions manual is also not clear at all. It has a knob which has 5 set points (A-E) and I'm not able to understand at which point should I be setting the dehumidifier at and what does the 'droplet' and 'sun' symbol represents. Does it mean that if it's summer than I should be keeping the knob towards the right side and vice versa? I live in Goa and during monsoon the humidity here is very high, so where should I set the knob at?

I had recently purchased my first camera and got to know that fungus can spoil the camera gear. So one of my friend recommended to get a 'dry cabinet'. Wasn't aware that there's something called as 'dry cabinet' to store the camera gear nor had seen anyone use it before. So is it necessary to have one? I currently own only two lenses and live in Goa where humidity can be very high during mansoon and sometimes am away for a month from home due to work
