Banana Flash Mob + Social August 29th 🍌

This idea has been in the back of my head for a while now, and I realize it's time to act on it.

I have a banana suit, it was quite cheap.

This means, theoretically, many of you could own banana suits soon too.

Here's the current plan:

Saturday, August 29th at 9 PM, we meet near 20th & Blake at Coors Field dressed in our finest bananas. We then initiate our plans to walk through unsuspecting bar goers on Blake, Market and Larimer.

After dazzling the drunks with a reminder to have their daily potassium, we would lock in for our final destination on one of the bars on Larimer and better get to know our new best friends.

Ten bananas would be funny.
Fifty bananas would be incredible.
A hundred bananas would be art.

Could we have people dressed as gorillas chasing us? Possibly.

Could this be the most fun you'll have all year? Probably.

If this interests you, leave a comment or DM me. The banana mob is happening. Over the next few weeks I'll finalize the meetup spot, the route and the final bar to be graced by our banana energy.

Rino Board Game Group Looking to Add More Women

Hello!

We've had a successful board game group that meets Thursdays @ 6pm in Rino for a few months now. We have a reliable group of 8-10 pretty wonderful people in their 20s and 30s, and most of us go out for dinner afterwards.

A few of the regular women in our group have recently moved out of state, so we’d love to welcome some new women and keep the group feeling balanced. We’re a friendly, social crew who enjoy a mix of games, conversation and the occasional overly competitive moment.

Any experience is welcome, we tend to play social games with the occasional round of Catan.

Interested? DM me with your favorite board game and a fun fact about you!

7/14 Half Domed it 🍌

Crushed it.

Did the Valley route from John Muir Trail. As a regular day hiker in Colorado, some thoughts:

  • Starting before sunrise and going up the mist trail was one of the most epic feelings ever. Nothing like glancing over with the headlamp at a giant waterfall in the dark.
  • Trail is rough more so because a good percent of it is rock. Feet are definitely paying for it today.
  • I forgot my gloves and didn't think a harness was worth it. For any of you debating it, Jesus Christ, please do have both. I may have been ok, but the cables are a very easy place to lose your life should you or someone else slip.
  • 5L of water did not last me until the filling station at the beginning of mist trail. It was also very hot yesterday coming down. While I drink more than most and knew how to ration on the way down, please bring water filters if you do this hike. (I left mine at home since this was a daily permit win.)
  • While not the longest or highest elevation hike I've done, absolutely the most challenging. This is not something you're going to be able to do without being in good shape and having decent hiking experience. Definitely a point in sub dome where the trail ends and it becomes a pick your own scramble.

Have fun y'all! Onto Kings Canyon/Sequoia!

Scored a single daily permit for Half Dome :)

Coloradan here, just wanted to celebrate!

This is park #27 for me and I've been hopeful all year planning this trip of getting a permit for Half Dome.

Wanted to include my two friends, but our hikes out in Great Basin on the way out made it clear this is a solo endeavor to try and complete.

I don't believe this will top my current longest day hike in Grand Teton (Paintbrush Canyon to Cascade Canyon loop)? But I have a feeling that this will be fighting for the top spot of best hike I've ever done.

Figure an earlier start than recommended and extra H20 will be my personal strategy to try and knock this one out.

Inforcer, congratulations. You finally have my undivided attention.

Attended Kaseya Connect. I understand how these events work, at a certain point the vendor salespeople get attendee information, reps scan badges, and for a few weeks afterward my inbox fills up with emails and calls. That's part of going to these conferences.

The unsolicited reach outs die down once it's clear who is and isn't interested.

Don't know what's in the water at Inforcer but they sure don't believe that.

It's been 46 days since the event and they're still calling both me and my MSP. I've ignored the unverified sales numbers hitting my phone as I do with every unverified call. I work remotely, otherwise had I known they were also repeatedly calling our service desk trying to get through I would have put a stop to this nonsense sooner.

What pushed me over the edge was today. I spoke with one of our service desk techs and told them to simply respond with a polite "not interested" the next time Inforcer called since they once again went out of the way to imply we have a standing meeting last Friday.

Less than an hour later they called again.

My tech was politely told we weren't interested. Their response?

>"Oh, okay. I'll call you back in 6 months to check."

No. Don't.

Like what part of that sounded like we're playing hard to get? I haven't responded to a single one of your calls or emails for 6 weeks and now you've received an explicit "I'm not interested."

So guess what Inforcer? You succeeded in getting my undivided attention. Today I am blocking your unverified sales numbers and email domain.

You could be the tool we needed as an MSP. We'll never know.

Anyone else have similar issues with another company like this?

Picked up a Liger Zero Panzer! Model tips?

Hey all,

I spotted a Panzer for $70 at my city's comic-con the other week and had to have it. I'd like to overdue it to a ridiculous degree, like all the models I see posted here.

I figure that entails sanding, painting, decals and more. Would any of you master modelers mind breaking down what you do to elevate the zoids you build?

What if I left this sub?

I wanted to take a moment to talk about the state of the sub.

The premise of this sub is amazing. There are some key moments in history when a differing outcome would have completely changed the future and had far lasting consequences.

Those are interesting and fascinating to talk about, I especially enjoy the "no, you don't understand, there was no way this country would have ever won with war with what existed at the time."

I think what I've grown tired of is the sub turning into a low effort political and joke sub. It was one thing when these posts were mildly clever and the banter contained to those threads, but now almost every post I see here has the same joke beat to death on every post even if it's a quality submission.

Unfortunately, until the mod team wants to start to clean up this sub this state will persist. I make this post more as a confirmation that I'm not alone in desiring this sub return to its roots.

Thursdays @ 6 Board Game Group open again for new members!

Hey all,

This board game group was launched back in April and since then we've grown to a great group of people that meets up weekly! I've since worked through all the chat messages I received asking to join and feel comfortable opening the doors again.

We meet Thursdays at 6 pm in the RINO area.

This group will be a good fit for you if:

  • You have a positive attitude regardless of how the board games going
  • You're up for playing something a bit more challenging than Cards Against Humanity
  • You enjoy talking and having fun with new people

Please DM me if you think this describes you, along with your favorite board game and a fun fact. I'll provide location.

A glance into the future of a Colorado occupied by Cascadia

It’s 11:59 on Radio Free Colorado; this is Blucifer, broadcasting from somewhere east of the Front Range with music, mountain air, and the truth until dawn. Right now, I’ve got a few words for our brothers and sisters in the Cascadian occupied zone:

"Palisade peaches are in season. Palisade peaches are in season.”

“Casa Bonita dives at midnight. Casa Bonita dives at midnight.”

“The Barrel Man rides again. The Barrel Man rides again.”

It’s twelve o’clock, Coloradans. Another day closer to liberation. And for all of you out there, on the line, behind the line, or trapped in a Starbucks or in a Voodoo Doughnuts… This is your song.
