Starting warm bike on the sidestand triggers oil warning light?
Hey there! I have a brand new 2025 (or 6 i'm not sure) manual model, bought it in march.
It's been awesome and I've already made a few trips on it.
However, a month or so ago, I was leaving my house, switched it on to get it out of the underground parking to the street, switched it off and left it on the sidestand to load my bags into the topbox and put on my jacket, and when I switched it on again, the check engine light was on, and it gave me a red oil warning on the tft screen.
It made me so paranoid, I immediately switched off the bike, i was checking the oil level, seeing if there were any leaks in the pannier. I didn't see anything and I had to go.
The mystery is though... after the engine restart, the oil warning on the tft screen was gone but the check engine light remained.
I checked on the maintenance notification screen in the options menu, and the there was nothing there.
I took it to a honda mechanic, they ran a diagnostic and cleared it as an electronic gremlin, the bike is running absolutely fine, the dipstick is at the correct level (checked several times)
No problem, right? Just a scare? Yeah
Until it happened again, 2 days ago.
I had to stop at a toll, switch off the bike to use the key for the topbox and get out my wallet, left the bike on the sidestand.
When I switched the engine on again to get going, same oil warning. Red warning on the tft screen, yellow check engine light.
Bike is still running absolutely fine, got where I was going, switched the engine off and on again and the oil warning is gone, check engine light is still there.
It's obviously a recurring electronic problem, checked the oil again and it's still at the required level.
It's extremely annoying because the bike is working perfectly, but it's bugging me to have a check engine light on, and I'm worried that if i leave it like that, I won't notice if a genuine problem pops up.
Any similar experiences? Possible solutions? the mechanic charged me nothing to clear the check engine, but it would be exhausting to have to go everytime this happened.
