Getting a TCL 98QM8L delivered in a week, those of you that have it. What are some settings I need to adjust out of the box?

I’ve read that will need an adjustment period to the TCLs with settings. I always stream content off a 4K Apple TV and play Switch 2 games. I’ve heard a few issues with gaming on these TVs due to the processor but I’m assuming that more for serious gaming and not casual gamers?

Is there anything that can help make this TV pop? I’m currently using an LG NanoCell 85”.

10 gig network advice

Hey folks! I’m setting up a Eero 7 system. It can blast 10g so I want to setup 8 APs (on ceiling) in my house with the MAX 7 as a gateway.

I only have CAT6 ran in my rooms but not sure if that’s an issue.

I was planning on getting the Unfi Pro XG 48 POE switch. I have about 24 Ethernet wall jacks as well that will be connected to the switch.

My plan:

Ports | Devices | Connection
8 × 10 GbE | eero PoE 7 access points | 10 GbE PoE+
16 × 2.5 GbE | Wall jacks | Up to 2.5 GbE
8 × remaining | 10 GbE Remaining wall jacks | Negotiates to device speed
1 × 10 GbE | eero Max 7 gateway | 10 GbE
Remaining ports | Future equipment | Available

Is this a solid plan? Am I missing anything?

*Im aware that most devices can’t even use 10gig which is why I’ve focused on the APs for the 10g ports

True Cable CAT6 Toolless Keystone Jacks vs Traditional Punchdown Jacks

Hey folks! I have a project coming up with over 100 CAT6 jacks. Could I use True Cables Toolless Jacks instead of traditional punchdown jacks?

I’ve read split decisions on that traditional jacks are mandatory but I wanted to see if this fell into the path of “it’s always been done this way” type of thing.

Thank you folks!

Mostly flooring but every room has a rug

I have used Eufy for cameras and they’re awesome + their app is easy to use and reliable.

Would anyone recommend this vac for my use case?

Non-profit cost reductions?

Got referred to a lead today for a walkthrough. I later learned that the referral was to another LV company who had just finished a $200k (at least) project but they forgot to wire for security bc they don’t do security.

So, the job is already pretty small (wireless door / window sensors + glass breaks).

I find out it’s a nonprofit and during the walkthrough they kept showcasing how nice of furniture they got donated from high end brands and how other trades had given them such big deals, etc.

I feel like it got brought up at least 10 times during the walkthrough (donations, discounts, etc). I haven’t worked with a nonprofit before. Is this normal?

I feel like it’s such a tiny job, not sure it’s worth the service headache for an 8,500 sq ft complex with wireless sensors and no wires as an option. Plus the expected discount on an already small project, with service requirements.

What do you other pros think?

Dipping my toes in this world, but how much handholding is needed?

I have an old gen Roomba and that thing sucks. Rarely finishes jobs, constant supervision, and does a below average job on his best days.

The math maths for a robot lawnmower in my area at $65 a mow 3 cuts a month = $2340. I’d have no problem with a 1 year period where it could pay itself off but my question is, how much time do I need to invest in babysitting this thing?

Has anyone had success with the Golden Six routine? It’s boring but strictly progressive overload.

Workout below:

Golden Six Inspired Workout
Schedule: 3 days per week
Example: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Rule: Rest at least 1 day between workouts

Warm Up
5 minutes easy movement

Workout
1. Front Squat
Sets/Reps: 4 x 10
Rest: 2 to 3 minutes

2. Wide Grip Barbell Bench Press
Sets/Reps: 3 x 10
Rest: 2 minutes

3. Chin Up
Sets/Reps: 3 sets of max clean reps
Rest: 2 minutes

4. Two Arm Landmine Press
Sets/Reps: 4 x 10
Rest: 90 seconds

5. Barbell Curl or EZ Bar Curl
Sets/Reps: 3 x 10
Rest: 60 to 90 seconds

6. Stiff Leg Deadlift
Sets/Reps: 3 x 10
Rest: 2 minutes

7. Band Tricep Pressdown
Sets/Reps: 2 to 3 x 15 to 25
Rest: 45 to 75 seconds

Progression Plan

Use this same workout every session for 4 weeks.
Start each lift with a weight that feels like you have 2 to 3 reps left in the tank.

Only add weight when you complete every set and rep with clean form.

Exercise Progression Rules

Front Squat
Goal: 4 x 10
If you hit 10, 10, 10, 10 with good form and no back sketchiness, add 5 lb total next time.
If you miss reps or your back feels off, keep the same weight next time.

Bench Press
Goal: 3 x 10
If you hit 10, 10, 10 clean, add 5 lb total next time.
If you hit 10, 9, 8 or similar, keep the same weight.

Chin Up
Goal: Increase total clean reps
Add up all reps across 3 sets.
Example: 8, 6, 5 = 19 total reps.
Try to beat your total reps next time.
Once you can hit 3 x 10 clean, start adding weight slowly.

Landmine Press
Goal: 4 x 10
If you hit all reps clean with no elbow or shoulder irritation, add the smallest amount possible next time.
If the jump feels too big, add reps first before adding weight.

Curl
Goal: 3 x 10
If you hit 10, 10, 10 with no elbow irritation, add the smallest amount possible next time.
If elbows feel cranky, keep the weight the same or switch to EZ bar or dumbbells.

Stiff Leg Deadlift
Goal: 3 x 10
Progress very slowly.
Only add weight if your hamstrings are working, your back feels good, and every rep is controlled.
If your lower back feels sketchy at all, reduce weight or skip this lift that day.

Band Tricep Pressdown
Goal: 2 to 3 x 15 to 25
When you can hit 25 reps on all sets easily, use a slightly harder band or step farther from the anchor.

Hey folks! I work with Chinese manufacturers and do a majority of communication via email which is fine and we get by. But on certain occasions I need a translator for video calls as things can be complicated in my business and more thorough conversations are needed.

I’m looking for someone that could hop on video calls and be my translator.

Happy to discuss more details for anyone thats interested!

Thanks in advance.
