We are a volunteer network dedicated to helping at-risk dogs. We are not affiliated with BARC. We connect at-risk animals at the BARC shelter with the adopters, fosters, and rescue organizations needed to save their lives. We can help coordinate out-of-state adoption through approved 501(c)3 rescues. 8/27/2026: Morgan greeted staff at her kennel door with a relaxed body, high wagging tail and smiling open mouth. Once leashed, she walked on a loose leash heading in and out of eval.
8/29/2026: Morgan greeted staff at the kennel gate with a loose/forward body, dilated eyes and fast wagging tail. She did a good job keeping her kennel clean overnight and walked on a loose leash to and from the outside runs. She paid little attention to other dogs as she passed their runs and kennels. Throughout the day, she would forward vocalize briefly when a person of interest approached and then stop when no one else was in the row.
8/31/2026: Morgan greeted staff at the kennel gate with a loose/forward body, dilated eyes and fast wagging tail. She kept her kennel clean overnight and walked on a loose leash to and from the outside runs. She paid little attention to other dogs as she passed their runs and kennels. In the run, she would hop and vocalize at the gate when staff walked by. Throughout the day, she would briefly forward vocalize and then stop when no one else was in the row.
9/5/2026: Throughout the day, Morgan would briefly forward vocalize when a person of interest passed her kennel and then stop when she heard no one else in the row. While in the runs, she would pace side to side, forward bark or whine when she saw staff walking another dog or walking by in general.
9/6/2026: Morgan stood in front of the kennel gate with a forward body, dilated eyes, fast wagging tail and panting. She kept her kennel clean overnight and walked on a loose leash to and from the outside runs. She paid little attention to other dogs as she passed their runs and kennels. While in the run, she would hop and vocalize at the gate when staff walked by.
9/7/2026: Morgan was standing in front of the kennel gate with a forward body, dilated eyes, fast wagging tail and panting. She kept her kennel clean overnight and walked on a loose leash to and from the outside runs. She paid little attention to other dogs as she passed their runs and kennels. While in the run, she would hop and vocalize in front of the gate when staff walked by.
9/8/2026: Morgan greeted at the front of the kennel with a loose body, panting and dilated pupils. Once placed in the outside runs, she was a bit vocal.
9/9/2026: Morgan greeted at the front of the kennel with a loose body, wagging tail and soft panting. Quiet when the kennel door was covered.
9/10/2026: Wiggly body, tappy toes and hard wagging tail when approached. Morgan walked on a semi-tight leash ahead of staff out to the runs and back. She remained uncovered throughout the day and was calm and quiet in her kennel. She whined during feeding and walked out for a PM walk and urinated.
9/11/2026: Very calm and quiet in kennel. Morgan had tippy taps when approached with a wiggly body. She was easily leashed and walked out on a semi-tight leash with a wiggly body. She kept the same body language in the runs. No issues retrieving her and placing her back into the kennel. Consecutive good notes removing adopt eval.
9/13/2026: Morgan greeted staff at the kennel gate with a loose/forward body, dilated eyes and fast wagging tail. She kept her kennel clean overnight and walked on a loose leash to and from the outside runs. She paid little attention to other dogs as she passed their runs and kennels. While in the run, she would hop and vocalize in front of the gate when staff walked by.
9/14/2026: Morgan greeted staff at the kennel gate with a neutral body, dilated eyes, fast wagging tail and open-mouth smile. She kept her kennel clean overnight and walked on a loose leash to and from the outside runs. She paid little attention to other dogs as she passed their runs and kennels.
9/16/2026: Morgan came to staff with an alert face and wagging tail as staff baby-talked to her. She was offered treats to leash and held a semi-tight leash on the way to the run and back.
9/20/2026: Morgan greeted staff at the kennel gate with dilated eyes, forward body, high wagging tail and open-mouth smile. She was vocalizing in front of her kennel once she saw staff getting closer. She walked on a loose leash to and from the outside runs. Later in the afternoon, she was walked by a volunteer and was friendly toward a passing group of customers.
🚑 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
10/29/2019: Morgan tested Heartworm High Positive.
11/1/2019: Spay surgery completed.
11/8/2019: Treated for URI/kennel cough.
11/18/2019: No URI symptoms noted and treatment was complete.
12/12/2019: Morgan was brought in to schedule heartworm treatment. She was also evaluated for itching and was prescribed doxycycline.
4/27/2020: Heartworm treatment was initially scheduled but had to be rescheduled because doxycycline had not been given correctly. Treatment plan was restarted.
7/21/2020: Morgan received her first heartworm treatment injection.
8/24/2020: Morgan received her second heartworm treatment injection.
8/25/2020: Morgan received her third heartworm treatment injection.
2/27/2021: Heartworm test negative. Dispensed six months of Triheart.
12/4/2021: Dispensed six months of Triheart.
5/13/2022: Heartworm test negative. Vaccinated and dispensed six months of Triheart.
8/26/2026: Weighed 63 lbs. Heartworm test negative. Vaccinated with DA2PP-V, Rabies and Bordetella, dewormed and given heartworm/flea prevention.
