What gods would other content creators have if they were in the SMP? and what champion ability ideas can we come up with?

Just thought this would be a fun thinking game, and since I was having some cool ideas I thought I'd make it a post where we could all share

I've had the thought that Scar would've been perfect as a champion of Hermes, being well known to play as a trickster and whimsical merchant in SMPs and even D&D before, but Sausage is already the champion of Hermes in Pantheon so we know what abilities that would give

I was also wondering what god Skizz would have and my main thought was Hestia, I felt like his wholesome vibe fit the comforting homeliness of her domain, though as a joke Joel as the champion of Hestia would be pretty funny for the Wild Life reference and for the irony since he's often quite crazy and passionate, which actually could also make him fit to be a champion of Dionysus, oooh that would be interesting wait actually I love the idea of Joel as the champion of Dionysus

here's my ability idea for a champion of Hestia

  • Passive - You gain an additional heart of max hp for every nearby family member, up to 3 extra hearts can be gained this way at a time
  • Ability 1 - If looking directly at another player, add or remove them from your family, if not, grant 2 absorption hearts to all nearby family members (including yourself)
  • Ability 2 - Summon a campfire which grants regeneration to family members around it (including yourself)
  • Ultimate - Lights the ground around you on fire, you will not take damage from the fire and instead gain regeneration as long as you are burning

Ren would be an interesting thought since if I remember right he was planned to be a member but instead is now a cameo after deciding to take an opportunity for something else, could be interesting if he's a champion of one (or all) of the muses, or as a reference to his cameo role as Charon, he could be the champion of someone from like Hades, Persephone or Thanatos, would actually be really interesting since the whole premise of the story is that the characters were brought back from the
Underworld

It would also be extremely interesting if someone were to be a champion of Chaos, but that might be impossible since it's the primordial void and might not even be able to choose a champion and send down blessings, any ideas on this?

New artifact set without Odette? And is Cryo traveller worth it?

My Sandrone team has Yae, Beidou and Qiqi, should anyone use the new stellar glimmer artifact set (if so, who)? and should anyone be changed for Cryo traveller or not

if I do get Odette I'll definitely be putting her in the team with the new artifact set, but as of now I don't have her and I'm not focused on trying to get her

Also I originally asked this on the megathread but realised there have been no replies to the comments for weeks, so I deleted my comment and am making this post instead

Has Pearl's sulphur cube prank in the EGG diner been triggered?

Just wanted to ask has it been triggered, and if so when/by who? I was looking forwards to seeing the reactions to it but from the videos I've watched I don't remember it coming up, did I just miss when it happened or was it never shown, or in a video I haven't watched? Also for a while I thought it was triggered by the button on the wall, but when I went back to check it was actually the pressure plate, Mumbo did walk over the pressure plate but wasn't looking back so I have no idea if he triggered the prank or not that time

What team represents each season best?

Was watching Jimmy's reaction to Hunter's base ranking video and got this idea for a fun thinking game

Here are my ideas (also I literally finished typing this all but accidentally went off it before I posted so I have to try and put it all back manually aaaaaaa)

Third Life: Dogwarts

  • The big thing about this season was the war between two leading sides, and I think Dogwarts represents this best since Ren set out to try and make alliances after he turned red, and ended up with a kingdom and army, while also the main points of conflict were about their symbolic items the enchanting table and red banner
  • Honourable mention to the desert, since it's a whole biome/landscape heavily associated with the season and had the iconic Battle of Red Desert, while Monopoly Mountain represents how people were trying so hard to hoard and monopolise resources in the early days of the Life Series

Last Life: Magical Mountain

  • Both members became boogeymen in the same episode, and Joel's boogeyman curse was probably one of the most iconic and disastrous examples of it, especially since it happened as early as episode 2
  • They highlighted the only one enchanter rule and the new life trading system by trying to take advantage and commercialise them, stealing the enchanter to make business for their mountain, causing it to keep getting passed around in that whole fiasco, and Scar trying to gain many lives so that he could sell them off,
  • The rule of red names having to abandon their old alliances is demonstrated well by Joel and Scar barely being allowed to work together due to the constantly changing lives, as well as Joel's house later becoming a group base for people who turned red

Double Life: Scott and Cleo

  • They took advantage of the season gimmick to play with and highlight it by teaming together despite who the game assigned them, which caused the Divorce Quartet, and their base being two houses on different cliffs connected by a bridge perfectly represents two people being tied together
  • Scott also built the Relationship Ranch which adds onto the soulmates and partners theme by pretending to help people solve their relationship issues

Limited Life: Clockers

  • Both their name and their base perfectly represent the season gimmick, very on the nose and very symbolic
  • They also had a family theme which extended into many teams and seems rather iconic for the season, causing a big wacky family tree, and even the Nosey Neighbours could be interpreted as part of the household theme by being their literal neighbours
  • Honourable mention to TIES for starting Skynet, it's just so iconic and impactful that it would seem like it was the season gimmick

Secret Life: BigB/Heart Foundation

  • BigB started to become very mysterious and confusing with his words, which is the best fit I can think of for the season gimmick, and even his underground base was quite mysterious and confusing with that backrooms and Scooby-Doo tunnels, and he eventually joined the Heart Foundation which represents the 'no regen but you can gift hearts' feature
  • I briefly considered the Mounders since a big aspect of their base was the strangely oriented houses, which originated from Bdubs' first task

Wild Life: Spanners

  • They spent the first few episodes changing their name and base to fit the wild card that was going on, which already makes them quite possibly the best fit to represent Wild Life, but also their base itself is absolutely Wild, with its rickety bridges across a spiky cliffside and a volatile TNT launching monstrosity, it fits the chaotic season gimmick really well

Past Life: Villies?

  • Not sure, I don't remember well enough to make a choice, but my instinct is to consider the Rejects or Villies since they intended to play along with the season gimmick by adding onto their bases with the blocks from each new update, though the Cabin Crew also get some points for using an actual (hot tub) time machine to travel across the versions
  • Although, I did just remember the square hole, that is really iconic and very impactful too, maybe almost as much as Skynet, so perhaps Villies is the choice to go for
  • I think with Past Life for me at least the season gimmick didn't really feel like the big interesting thing, but rather all the other crazy things and glitches that ended up happening were what made it good and interesting, like the secret society, new records for big multi-kills, weird horse riding thing, Tango's punishment and the projectiles slowing down in the finale as if the Watchers' powers were having an affect on the world

Harbingers foreshadowing/paralleling the next elemental nation

Just realised something, Arlecchino as a Pyro Harbinger had her main role in Fontaine, and her story really honed in on Pyro's theme of legacy and family with the whole orphanage and newer generations taking over from the previous leaders, which ended up being a massive deal in Natlan the Pyro Nation

Capitano as a Cryo Harbinger had his main role in Natlan, and his big moment/the culmination of his plan was squaring off against Ronova (and thus directly challenging the gods of Celestia, and even before that he had a literal full blown fight against the Pyro Archon, another god), meanwhile Snezhnaya the Cryo nation has been planning the divine rebellion for a long time and now with newer trailers we know that they're going to square off with Ronova

Since Sandrone is also a Cryo Harbinger with her main role in Nod-Krai/Song of the Welkin Moon, which also precedes Snezhnaya, and possibly Dottore too (he seems to be primarily Cryo themed) I wonder if their experiences also parallel/foreshadow a major part of Snezhnaya (though tbh, even regardless of that, Nod-Krai stuff overall might share themes with Snezhnaya already by being the bridge between Natlan and Snezhnaya and having deep connections with Snezhnaya geographically and historically)

I made a Surtalogi ability concept!

__Surtalogi__

__Talents__

Basic Attack: Overlord of Combat -

  • Normal: Surtalogi commands his bow to perform up to 4 consecutive shots.
  • Charged (Aimable): Perform a more precise Aimed Shot with increased damage using a spear as the arrow. While aiming, Surtalogi will mimic stone crystals around the spear. A fully charged crystalline spear will deal Geo damage.
  • Plunge: Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE damage upon impact.

Skill: Foul Origin: Apocalypse (Cooldown 7 sec)]: Surtalogi wields a greatsword and spear and switches to Seven-Phase Starfire mode for 11 seconds. This mode has the following properties:

  • Increases Surtalogi’s interruption resistance.
  • His Elemental Burst, Havoc: Orbital Strike is converted to the special Elemental Burst Havoc: Desecration.
  • Normal, Charged and Plunging attacks are converted to Geo damage based on Surtalogi’s Defence that cannot be overridden by other Elemental infusions.
  • When Surtalogi obtains an Elemental Shard created through Crystallise or triggers a Lunar-Crystallise reaction, his Normal, Charged and Plunging attacks will instead be converted to deal damage of the corresponding elemental type based on his Defence + Elemental Mastery
  • Every 0.1s, Normal attacks apply a Maw of Oblivion to enemies hit, which can stack up to 3 times per enemy. When marked enemies are defeated, Surtalogi absorbs them to gain 2 Serpent’s Savagery for each Maw.
  • Surtalogi can move on water when he Sprints.

Burst: Havoc: Orbital Strike]: Surtalogi’s Elemental Burst is not reliant on Elemental Energy but instead on Serpent's Savagery. When Surtalogi has 70 Serpent’s Savagery he can expend it to unleash his Elemental Burst, firing a titanic greatsword from his bow high above which deals AoE Geo damage based on his Defence as it crashes down and leaves enemies hit in Stasis.

Stasis:

  • Enemies affected cannot move from their position.
  • Every 0.1 seconds, when affected enemies receive Pyro, Hydro, Electro or Cryo damage, Surtalogi gains a stack of Contained Cruelty of the corresponding element. Up to 5 stacks of Contained Cruelty can be obtained in this way.
  • When enemies are released from Stasis, consume all accumulated Contained Cruelty to deal an additional instance of corresponding elemental damage to them based on Surtalogi’s Defence + Elemental Mastery for each stack consumed.

When Surtalogi is in Seven-Phase Starfire mode, Havoc: Orbital Strike will be replaced by Havoc: Desecration.

Havoc: Desecration

  • A special Elemental Burst that can be used even without consuming Serpent's Savagery. It can be used up to 4 times with a cooldown of 1.5 seconds.
  • Surtalogi’s bow launches an attack from above, dealing AoE Geo damage based on his Defence. Gain 1 Serpent’s Savagery for each Maw of Oblivion on enemies hit.

Passive 1: Overpowering Strength]: The amount of stacks of Maw of Oblivion that an enemy can have is increased by 1. When using Havoc: Desecration, Surtalogi gains 10 Elemental Mastery for each Maw of Oblivion on enemies hit, lasting until Seven-Phase Starfire ends. Up to 120 Elemental Mastery can be gained in this way.

Passive 2: All-Powerful Destroyer]: Each point of Elemental Mastery Surtalogi possesses will increase his Geo Damage Bonus by 0.12% and Pyro, Hydro, Electro and Cryo Damage Bonus by 0.07%, up to a maximum increase of 120% and 70% respectively.

Passive 3: Master of the Serpent’s Ways]: When the party contains characters of at least 3 different elements, your own party members’ Elemental Burst Level is increased by 1.

Character Exclusive features: The spear and greatsword that Surtalogi uses in his abilities can have their appearance changed by equipping any polearm, claymore or corresponding Weapon Appearance that you own as a cosmetic. If Surtalogi has Weapon Appearances active that can change their appearance based on the Elemental Type of their wielder (aka the Stygian Onslaught weapon skins), they will change accordingly based on the element of his attacks.

__Constellations__

C1: The Knight Become Dragon]: When using the Elemental Burst Havoc: Orbital Strike, increase the party’s Elemental Mastery by 120 for 8 seconds.

C2: Absolute Monster]: When a character in the party obtains an Elemental Shard created through Crystallise or triggers a Lunar-Crystallise reaction, Surtalogi gains a stack of Contained Cruelty of the corresponding element. Up to 3 stacks of Contained Cruelty can be obtained in this way. When Stasis expires, Surtalogi gains 15 Elemental Mastery for each stack of Contained Cruelty he consumes lasting for 7 seconds.

C3: Havoc: Devastation]: Level of the Elemental Burst is increased by 3.

C4: World-Devouring Inferno]: When Stasis expires, each stack of Contained Cruelty consumed recovers 1 Serpent’s Savagery and has a 50% chance to add an additional instance of damage of the same elemental type at the end.

C5: An Arm and a Leg]: Level of the Elemental Skill is increased by 3.

C6: Leviathan and Behemoth]: The amount of stacks of Maw of Oblivion that an enemy can have is increased by 1, and Surtalogi can ignore 8% of enemies’ Defence for each stack of Maw of Oblivion they have.

Energy mechanic based on a mix of u/Saphir_56 and u/Its_Altair's ideas, not sure if the burst charging is like too slow or fast or whatever so just imagine those numbers as whatever works best, I usually don’t bother with figuring out energy but had to do it this time since he doesn’t use the normal system

Going to make a Surtalogi ability concept, thoughts on his energy system?

Do we think he would have the exact same energy mechanic as Skirk (serpent's subtlety and void rifts) since he also uses the Seven Shifting Serpent, or would he have his own version that works differently

Who will say the Tsaritsa drip marketing quote?

Oftentimes for the main deity of a region their drip marketing quote will be from another major deity from the next region, such as Zhongli having a quote from Raiden, Nahida having a quote from Neuvillette, Neuvillette having a quote from Xbalanque and Columbina having a quote from the Tsaritsa

This isn't always the case, such as Raiden having the quote from a major figure/deity in her own nation, the Kitsune Saiguu, or Mavuika having two quotes from Barbeloth and Varka respectively (you could say that Varka follows the pattern of being a major figure for the next region Nod-Krai, just not a deity)

Who do we think will say the line? Wanted to make a post to share ideas and see what everyone thinks

If they wanted to tease a future character my guesses would be a shade, Vedrfolnir or maybe even the Heavenly Principles, though considering the theory it could also be the Third Descender, but there’s also the simpler option that it’ll just be Pierro

Now that I’m thinking about it again, it could be particularly interesting if they make Tartaglia give the quote, it’s a simpler option being one of the Harbingers most associated with her, but also a deeper reference since he’s likely named after the Third Descender

Khaenri’ah doesn’t have gods which is why I suggested a sinner like Vedrfolnir, since they have the same powers as the shades, I’d love to get a quote from Hroptatyr, but that’ll be a perfect fit for Pierro’s drip marketing instead, (either playable release or Rerir style)

Additionally, given the newest lore drop, maybe the quote could even be from the founder of Khaenri’ah, we don’t really know which family member that would’ve been, whether it’s the descender or the child or a grandchild or someone else, unless it’s actually the Tsaritsa herself

Forbidden Knowledge is the unchosen fates

Barbeloth proposed the theory that the abyss is powered by the hatred of unchosen fates, and forbidden knowledge is one of the main forms of abyssal manifestation, which makes me think that the forbidden knowledge itself is the information of those fates that didn't come to pass.

Since the Heavenly Principles seems to be master of Teyvat's fate system and it's such a big deal, it could be that the HP controls fate with a program that outright blocks the branches it doesn't want, which is what causes the information about those branches (forbidden knowledge) to be incompatible with Teyvat and make people go insane. Additionally, even though the term 'divine knowledge' was probably just a trick from the Akademiya, that might be a more accurate term than they realise, if it indeed is information from the Heavenly Principles' fate system that they're trying to remove

If this is true, it would also mean that the Heavenly Principles inadvertently caused the corrupted Dragon King to become a lot more dangerous because their fate system is what determines certain information as forbidden and thus conflicting to Teyvat

Maybe people have already talked about this idea before, but I've been thinking about it lately and just wanted to get it out there

Fel Sword

Does its healer bonus effect work while it's just in your hotbar/inventory? or does it have to be held

If it has to be held for the effect, is it still worth getting or nah (my main weapon is AOTD with Dragonfuse Glove)

A bit of thematic symbolism about the Fatui’s rebellion against the Heavenly Principles

Just wanted to share a couple little things I realised

So the out-of-universe ‘theme’ of Cryo, as we’ve probably mostly figured out by now, is self-contradiction, while the Heavenly Principles is the god of Reason

How perfect is it that the nation of Cryo is leading the rebellion against the HP, when irony and contradiction is literally about screwing with logic and reason

And the second point, we know how Pierro named his title and the organisation ‘Fatui’ meaning ‘fools’ to mock the absurdity of the HP, the world and the other Khaenriahn mages, but I have just realised it’s even more direct than that, because Foolishness is the opposite of Reason, our name directly counters and opposes the very attribute that the Heavenly Principles represents
