Any older guys in here buying a WRX?

I had a 2007 WRX when I was 22, had all the bolt one and upgrade turbo plus a dyno tune. Was a great car back then.

I’ve been driving my truck and an accord for the last 10 or so years, I’m wanting something a little more fun to drive and was looking at the WRX again. But I can’t help to think being 39, it’s to much of a kid car for me now.

Anyone else pushing 40 and buy a new WRX lately?

Edit: Alright it was clearly an in my head thing, I’m going to test drive and probably pick one up this weekend. And looks like they’re doing 0.9% for 48 months so that’s a plus too.

Muscle tension

I was on 15mg Valium daily for about 7 years, I did a 6 month taper that went pretty good and jumped 3 weeks ago. The first week went pretty well, I was working 12s at work, made it through the days relatively okay.

At a week and a half my muscle tension got crazy bad, like neck, face, back, side of stomach and it hasn’t let up since. It’s making me off balance, vision issues, hard to walk, can barely sit up straight. I can now barely make it through an 8 hour shift, no way I can do 12s anymore.

I had some muscle tension before this but nothing to this level and not 100% of the time like it is now, nothing stops it or makes it better. My work is going back to overtime next week and I don’t know what to do.

Has anyone had this and figured out how to make it even slightly better?

Muscle stiffness and pain

I’m 2 weeks off Valium after a taper. The first week I felt pretty good, but now I’ve had tight neck and back muscles that are causing extreme discomfort, off balance feeling, hard to walk/stand/sit up right. My neck gets so bad after a few hours walking around that my hands go numb, it feels like I’m walking on a boat. I’m barely making it through work and I don’t know what to do as nothing seems to touch it or make it better.

How have I failed so miserably while everyone around me is doing fine.

EDIT: Thank you for everyone’s comments, it’s pretty obvious it’s the single income household that’s setting us apart. And with that we had kids late in life, so most of my co-workers around the same age who have older kids are past this stage. We have a year until our youngest will be in school full time so I think that will help out a lot with her working then. I should be thankful we aren’t in debt and managing to get through the last 5 years of one income, it just gets to me sometimes, like I’m taking away my kids childhood being in an apartment instead of a neighborhood.

When I was 18 my parents made around 18/19$ each, we had a decent house, 2 cars, a boat. Went to the beach or camping or sporting events every weekend. I use to look at jobs thinking if I can just find something around $20 an hour when I’m older I’ll be set. Get me a small ranch house and a decent truck. Have a family and kids.

I’m now just about to turn 39, I have a wife and 2 kids who are starting school this year. My wife stays home, so no daycare.

I currently make 140k per year (more than I ever dreamed), my take home bi-weekly is 3250 after all deductions/taxes.

We live in a 2 bedroom apartment, kids share a room. It’s small, no yard, no garage, no privacy.

Our area the average house is around 550k, we’ve found a couple very basic houses about an hour commute from my work for 400-450k. With mortgagee, taxes, insurance it’s about 3100-3400 a month. So roughly 4000 a month with utilities. I don’t understand how to make something like this work, and there is nothing cheaper than that, and it’s already an hour away from work.

What am I supposed to do, how do I stop failing my family, I can’t stand to live in an apartment anymore but that’s all I can afford. Is this really how life is supposed to be?

Edit: A lot of people asking for our current budget.

$3250 bi-weekly take home.

Rent 2250, 2 bedroom apartment.
Water/sewer $100ish a month
Electric $275 a month
Car insurance $208
Life insurance for both of us $93
Verizon $193
Renter insurance $17
Steaming services $40
Gas 200-250 month
Internet $71

Total monthly’s $3445
Savings $1500 a month
About $1500 on food for the 4 of us, households, kid entertainment, clothes, doctor visits.

We have no credit cards or car payments.

When are you out of the woods

I was on 15mg Valium for the last 8 years. 10mg late morning, 5mg at night.

I just did a 6 month taper which was hell every cut, like body locking up and slurring words, crazy muscle tension and pain. Barely making it to my next dose.

Well I just jumped off .5mg on Monday at noon. So I’m around 100 hours off so far. When will I be out of the woods and stop worrying about having a seizure?

Also I felt terrible every single day during my taper, scared as hell to jump. But I haven’t had any “bad” days since jumping Monday. Like I’m not sure what’s going on but I feel pretty okay minus muscle tension. Have I just not hit my withdrawals yet?

And finally what did you guys do with your left over valium? I have around 1000mg’a left of 10s 5s and 2s all prescription, do you keep them around for other stuff or just toss it, or give it back to the doctor?

Would I be a good fit for a HT

39M been on fin for almost a year now, noticed receding when I was 21.

Do people that have had transplants think I would get good results? How many graphs to fix something like this?

I’m tired of living my life in a hat, and I don’t have the head shape or face for bald, shaves it once and it was really bad.
